    ATT Pebble Beach Pro Am

by Keefdawg on 2/13/18AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am - Pebble Beach

ATT Pebble Beach Pro Am has some positives but the negatives outweigh almost every other positive on my list with the exception of the magnificent views. If you have never been to this place, make sure to visit on a weekday like a Mon / Tues. but not when there is an event at Pebble Beach. Disclaimer: I have volunteered for 4 PGA events, mostly in the towers behind the greens but I know a little about running an event and this one is poorly run. The Negatives: 1. Drunk crowds of people misbehaving; lots of empty beer cans / plastic cups everywhere on the grounds. The seating areas are a free for all and no one is managing the crowds, people standing in front of you blocking your view as well as the fact that the seats are misaligned such that you can barely see the action. When I tried to watch the 18th hole action, the people were constantly walking in front of you where you were seated such that you never could see any second / third shots to the par 5 green. 2. Concession stands: too few and way to poorly managed. The lines are super long, the people are way to casual and have no sense of urgency when waiting on you or fail to even acknowledge you until you say something.....the number of concession stands was so few, we passed on food drinks for the most part. 3. Signage: The buses that took us from CSU Monterey to / from the event were ok but the signs to locate them after the event were non-existent. The crowds overwhelmed the volunteers such that the streets were mobbed and no one could pass w/out being pushed / shoved around. They need better signs / more bodies at the exits directing traffic / people so that you can locate your transportation and SIGNS work a lot better that some little old lady yelling incoherently.

    Great time

by KW0023 on 2/13/18AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am - Pebble Beach

I bought the tickets for my dad for Christmas since he is avid golfer. We took the shuttle in from CSUMB, which was free, and arrived early enough for the bobble head which was awesome. We got there about 9am and made our way to the open part of the course. We didn't know that hole 8 was such a long walk, especially for the ones who have walkers, trouble with their legs or knees, so that is just alittle heads up. Take your time, absorb the beauty of the homes on the course and the set up that ATT and others made so awesome !! when you get to the View, it is amazing !! Such great customer service from everyone and the drinks were awesome, just like the VIEW of hole 8 !!

    nice tournament

by joseph23 on 2/13/18AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am - Pebble Beach

The tournament was fun to watch. But I was not happy about the price. They jacked the price of the tournament by $10/ticket during the week of the event.

    Pro-Am worth an Ex-Am

by ChgoBullsFan on 2/13/18AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am - Pebble Beach

Worthwhile event to see some good golf by the pros and some not-so-good golf by the celebrities, but they were fun. Food left much to be desired. Drinks are flowing but add up quickly. You can bring in 1 bottle of sealed water. Wear layers; inland holes were warm but those on the coast were windy & much cooler. Spectacular views from the course.

    Pebble Beach was amazing

by DeNell70 on 2/12/18AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am - Pebble Beach

Pebble Beach is the course to go to, it was beautiful. We went to MPCC first and it was a HUGE let down , bascilly it sucked. I would never go back to that course. Saw some pro golfers, who were class acts like Rory McIlroy,& Phil Mikelson not impressed with Jordan Speith , Dustin Johnson, who acted like little prima donna’s and walked way around to get to tees so they wouldn’t be near fans. Pebble Beach does need to do a better job with signage to help spectators navigate the venue and figure out how to get where they want to go. Wether it’s to shuttles, or a specific hole, of a special spot . We had tickets to The View, and it was beautiful when we finally found it.

    Great Experience

by Carolyn09 on 2/12/18AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am - Pebble Beach

We were able to see all our favorite pros and amateurs on Thursday at MPCC. The weather was beautiful and everyone was very friendly (staff, players, and spectators). Only downsides were very few restrooms for spectators and a lack of food venues at MPCC. I did hear that there was plenty of accommodations at the other courses.

    Great location and tournament

by TaB4me on 2/12/18AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am - Pebble Beach

First, the good: Great location. It was the most beautiful day I have ever experienced there in 57 years. The courses were in great shape, and there's no better place to watch a tournament. The bad: Maybe I missed it, but I didn't see anything online about making sure you didn't bring a purse. Unfortunately, this was a common occurrence on Thursday when I was there as there were probably 500 purses at Spyglass alone. They checked them into a tent but just dumped them into piles. It was very unorganized. Then to try to get ready to leave that area to go back to my car, I had to get back in line and go through security all over again even though I wasn't going back on the course. They really need to work on that for next year.

    Enjoyable walk

by casualgolfer on 2/12/18AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am - Pebble Beach

Fun and convenient way to watch a golf tournament, easily done in one full day including transit from the Bay Area. With schedules in hand, were easily able to follow our favorite golfers starting on the 9th hole at Spyglass and working our way around the front nine, catching the convenient shuttle to Pebble to take in more golf. More importantly, even without golf, the scenery alone is worth the trip. On the negative side, the concessions were very limited. Also, posted directions were very limited, making it difficult to take the shortest route to the tee or green of interest (particularly bad at Pebble). On the plus side, a friendly volunteer always seemed to be present when needed. All in all, a great day rubbing elbows with the celebs.

    Restaurants

by Trip67 on 2/12/18AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am - Pebble Beach

Well restaurants closed early. The restaurants that were open wouldn’t let people walking in take empty tables and said 1 hour wait. Not acceptable. The bus service stopped at 6 why wouldn’t places stay open later ??

    Beautiful setting, poorly executed event

by KBYST on 2/10/18AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am - Pebble Beach

My husband and I had been looking forward to this for a long time. We decided to go to the practice round instead of the event in hoping it would be a little less crowded and more laid back. Frustrating there were even tickets to this part of the event as nothing was open. All concession, drink stands ect were all closed. When asking staff for direction we were told multiple different things and ways to get around. After walking the course for 1.5 hours not even able to get a water we were ready to get out of there. Waiting for our shuttle back was a nightmare. Many shuttles at a time would pass us to drop off people but would never return to bring anyone back. We excpected more from a event like this.
