6 Time Grammy Award winning jazz trumpeter ARTURO SANDOVAL, a protégé of the legendary jazz master Dizzy Gillespie, is touring Australia in June 2013. Cuban-born Sandoval has evolved into one of the world’s most acknowledged guardians of jazz trumpet and flugel horn, as well as a renowned classical artist, pianist and composer.
A subject of a movie based on his life, “For Love or Country” starring Andy Garcia, Sandoval’s virtuoso technical ability or his specialty in high notes gives us the opportunity to enjoy the diversity of his music, through his compositions from the most straight ahead jazz, Latin jazz or classical. He is recognised as one of the most brilliant, multifaceted and renowned musicians of our time.
Arturo Sandoval’s versatility can be heard on recordings with everyone from Dizzy Gillespie, Woody Herman, Woody Shaw, Michel Legrand, Bill Conti and Stan Getz to John Williams and the Boston Pops, and in the Super Bowl with Tony Bennet and Patti LaBelle plus Johnny Mathis, Frank Sinatra, Paul Anka, Rod Stewart and Alicia Keys amongst many others. Arturo Sandoval is truly a prominent and legendary musician.

From the time I got out of my car to the time I got back in it after the show, I was treated well. The venue is a great place to see a show. The people, from the young explorers to people inside the venue were pleasant and helpful. When leaving they thanked people for attending. Conga Bop was wonderful and I was delighted to find out at the end that many of the musicians were local and part of the Hartt School of Music. I had never seen Arturo live before. The music was fantastic and Arturo is quite a showman. His energy was contagious and the crowd responded to it as did the other musicians. I would definately return to that venue to see other performances. It's a wonderful place to see a show. And if they brought Arturo back, I would love to see him again as well. Thanks for the great evening.

His smooth approach to any given audience, and his latin flare is soothing at times, but always uplifting and entertaining. The venue at Summer Winds is quaint and serene and depending on who the artist is, for a more consevative group... we've attended several shows at Summer Winds in the past, and we've never been disapponted... Arturo rocked!!

I bought these tickets to go see Arturo for my husband's birthday to enjoy since he is his Idol, and it was the best gift I could have gave him! not only did he have a great time carefully paying attention to each note arturo played but I had an awsome time listening to his incredible skills he has. We had a blast!!

Such a great little theater with the best acoustics in Orlando by far and away! He performs trumpet, synth, piano, percussion and sings with such high quality and again has the best combo with him - one certainly of matching his style and improv!
Arturo blows me away every time I see him.

I don't know what took Orlando so long and why this show was not sold out. The seats at the Plaza Theatre were not very comfortable in Orchestra seating. My guest stated that when she was there previously at a Poco concert that the seat was very uncomfortable.
