About

Since its formation by multi-talented musician and songwriter Aaron Bruno in 2010, AWOLNATION has redefined alternative music. With multiple radio hits at the alternative format, including 8 Top Fives and 2 Number Ones, the act has inarguably already made a permanent mark, not just in their genre, but across modern music. Most notably, the chart-topping, record-breaking, diamond-certified track "Sail" created a reference soundscape for a myriad of hits in the last decade. That song launched a career that already spans four albums. Megalithic Symphony, the platinum debut LP that also produced the gold certified "Not Your Fault" and two other Top 10 US singles. Sophomore album Run arrived in 2015, and the follow-up, Here Come The Runts, came in 2018. Then entering a creative partnership with current label Better Noise music, the band's fourth full-length album, ANGEL MINERS & THE LIGHTNING RIDERS, featuring the hit single "The Best," was released on April 24, 2020, and features collaborations with Rivers Cuomo of Weezer and Alex Ebert of Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros. In their positive review of the project, AllMusic calls it, "an energetic, fun, and compulsively listenable set that distills the best of what AWOLNATION can do: making pop-savvy, dance-friendly, alternative rock anthems that are not bound to traditional genre conventions."

That boundary breaking of genres continued in Bruno's creative calling, even more so as the world shut down in 2020. While quarantining, Bruno had the idea to celebrate music unapologetically with a team of talented friends - new and old. The result is the new album My Echo, My Shadow, My Covers and Me, a collection of unexpected yet passionately crafted covers and collaborations. Launched with the first single in January 2022, a powerful rendition of "Wind of Change," featuring Portugal the Man and Brandon Boyd of Incubus, the album also features guest performances by Beck, Rise Against, Jewel, grouplove and many others. The homage paid to each song's original artist is just as fun to dive into as the mutual respect heard in every note from both AWOLNATION and guests.

Recently, AWOLNATION has brought venues to capacity like The Fillmore (Minneapolis) and the T-Mobile Center (Kansas City).

    Verdy noiccceee

by Digital Lobo on 11/15/22Hollywood Palladium - Hollywood

The show was pretty dope. The line wasn't a long wait there was plenty of space in the room, and there were merch/shops for food or stuff. Sure there wasn't just regular water, but at least there were bathrooms. Now down to the actual show, I will definitely get earplugs next time because the speakers were pretty loud, leaving my ears ringing after the show. This was also because I was somewhat close to the stage. The bands before AWOLNATION were decent and took a decent amount of time for their performances. AWOLNATION's performance was pretty great and hope to see them again next time they perform in LA. The lead singer was very expressive and did pretty well at doing the vocals without any background vocals playing in the background like what other artists do. Wish they did more songs because they had other songs that were BANGERS like Wake Up, Not Your Fault, and Batter, Black, and Blue. Wished I could have met them in person and gotten them to sign some stuff but this will always be a memorable show.

The show and openers were great. I haven't jumped or danced so much in years. Aaron Bruno is amazing.

    Eh

by Music lover on 11/9/22South Side Ballroom - Dallas

My disappointment is likely mostly based on the fact the sound system at Southside Ballroom is absolutely awful and I was so cold in there. I will likely see them again if they come to town but play a different venue.

    All 3 great performances.

by Michael on 11/8/22South Side Ballroom - Dallas

AwolNation was great, very interesting music and the lead singer has more energy than anyone I have seen before. They are mainly known for one song but they have a whole show of great music. The opening act The Mysteries from Liverpool were wonderful. The lead singer plays lead guitar too, she has an amazing voice and their music is fun and interesting. The support act BadFlower were also good. A slight technical hiccup at the start was resolved in a few minutes and then the show was great. There was a whole contingent of the audience who were there just for BadFlower and they were very loud. It made for a great evening. The drinks were reasonably cheap too.

    We are The AWOLNATION

by JC Lords on 11/8/22South Side Ballroom - Dallas

We danced, we rocked, we jumped, and we supported each other as the crowd surfed overhead. AWOLNATION is something you hear and feel and are a part of. The band was great, the crowd was great, the drinks were tasty, the service was awesome and an all around great time was had. Thanks Aaron, can we do it again next week?

by Ampstrick on 11/7/22Bayou Music Center - Houston

This was one of the best concerts we have gone to this year. It’s November, we’ve gone to MANY. Watching Awolnation live is a great experience. I’ve seen them live many times and they always bring every amount of energy possible.

    The artist was magical

by Lobo on 11/7/22Bayou Music Center - Houston

The artist was magical in the sense that he his voice, his ability to move the crowd, his choreography and cinematic light que’s were beautiful. As for the establishment itself it could have less lighting in the center and a more dynamic darker side towards the crowd to enhance the color and brightness coming from the stage. There were many times the light was shining bright like I was dining at a buffet or I was at a banquet of some sort and then it went back to the magic of the concert. A little improvement in that aspect and I believe I very performance held at that venue would be stellar.

    Honestly, it was bad...

by Scot on 11/7/22Bayou Music Center - Houston

I don't know if it was the venue or the sound guy, but the vocals were buried, and in general the sound quality was terrible. I was very disappointed.

    Audio level issues

by Mrtimn on 11/5/22The Fillmore Charlotte - Charlotte

The opening acts sounded great, but when the headliner came on, the lead singers mix was very quiet to the point where you could hardly hear him. The audience pointed it out and the lead singer tried several times to get the crew to resolve the issue, but to no avail. I'm sure it doesn't happen an the time, but it was pretty disappointing. Everything else was fine, thus 3 stars. But making a whole trip out of seeing my favorite band just to not be able to hear the vocals was a bummer.

    AWOLNATION totally underrated!

by AWOLJim on 11/2/22The Fillmore Charlotte - Charlotte

AWOLNATION provides a dynamic show. Aaron Bruno is a master at his craft of creating music that is a little Indie, a little alternative and a little rock and roll. His lyrics come from the heart and usually have a personal story behind them. I believe I first saw them in 2012 and in the 10 years they have really developed as a band and have a great stage presence.
