About

The Black Keys in Concert

Guitarist/singer Dan Auerbach and drummer Patrick Carney make up the blues rock powerhouse that is The Black Keys. The duo has come a long way from their early days recording in an Akron, Ohio, basement to their current ability to sell out tickets to a Madison Square Garden concert in just 15 minutes.

After their 2002 debut dubbed "The Big Come Up," The Black Keys developed an underground following which they satiated with intimate tours and new releases every couple years. The 2010 unveiling of "Brothers" marked the start of their commercial success, as tracks like "Howlin' for You" and "Tighten Up" received regular rotation on Top 40 stations nationwide. Not to mention the three Grammy Awards the group took home for Best Alternative Music Album, Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal for "Tighten Up" and Best Recording Package.

The group's studio effort, 2011's chart-topping "El Camino," incorporated surf rock and rockabilly influences which pleased many and earned them another four Grammy Awards, including Best Rock Album.

The Black Keys are kicking off a 2019 North American Tour called "Let's Rock" as a headliner at the Life Is Beautiful Festival in Las Vegas, NV on Sept. 21. Modest Mouse will be touring with them on all dates. Openers at other select shows include Shannon & The Clams, *repeat repeat, and Jessy Wilson.

The Black Keys on Tour

The Black Keys confirmed their 35-date "Let's Rock" 2020 summer tour with performances in cities including Seattle, Dallas, Boston, New York, Tampa & Jacksonville (full dates below). Produced by Live Nation, each date on the tour feature special guest Gary Clark Jr., with the exception of the July 10th Berkeley show which will feature support from Allah-Las. Jessy Wilson, The Marcus King Band, and Yola will each open select dates.

The Black Keys' ninth studio album, "Let's Rock," was released on June 28, 2019 via Easy Eye Sound/Nonesuch Records. Auerbach says, "When we're together we are The Black Keys, that's where that real magic is, and always has been since we were sixteen." "Let's Rock" has received critical praise, with Paste saying, "If you want something you can crank up at backyard barbecues or in the car with the windows down, well, The Black Keys have two words for you, and they're in the album title." and The Wall Street Journal adds, "The Black Keys have mastered the form of guitar-based music, and the craft at work on these dozen songs is something to behold."

by Fastxcarz on 10/21/22Dos Equis Pavilion - Dallas

I enjoy shows here. Fortunately the weather and evening couldn’t have been better. However, all of that is overshadowed by the badddd azszszs THE BLACK KEYS!!! their show would be perfect at any place. The VIP lounge is also nice to enjoy.

First time seeing The Black Keys perform live and had an amazing time! With the Texas State Fair going on in the background it made for a cool, unique setting.

    Black Keys - Moody Center

by JCG72 on 10/20/22Moody Center ATX - Austin

While the Black Keys delivered an incredible set of music I was disappointed in my floor seats (proximity to stage); especially in lieu of my original purchase price. Drink prices at the venue were absurdly high. The venue itself, while architecturally appealing, was pretty boring in the interior. No murals or artwork on walls, no congregation area in concourse area. Honestly pretty lifeless. The Terrace was very nice however. Great views of UT Tower & Capitol building. After this experience it will take an incredible act for a return visit. Let’s hope UT home games provide a better atmosphere.

    awesome band, poor venue layout

by Drake on 10/20/22Moody Center ATX - Austin

The setup of the venue was not good. This is music that should make people dance and lose there energy. However the front of the stage was boring seating area

    Seats got moved

by Matt on 10/20/22Moody Center ATX - Austin

This was my 4th time to see the Black Keys and the Moody Center is really nice. I bought my tickets the hour that they went on sale for the first section off the floor. When I got to the event center, our seats were in the upper mezzanine, not a deal breaker. Then we found our seats, they were in the literal top-most row with a wall in the way of the stage. The Black Keys did their thing and put on a great show from what we could see on a display screen.

    Moody Center...meh

by Roacho on 10/20/22Moody Center ATX - Austin

Overpriced tickets to be shuttled in front of my seat with no room to shake my booty. $5 for a bottle of reverse osmosis water that then needed to be placed in a plastic cup and the bottle thrown into a landfill bin for fear I would chuck it at the artists. Nothing about this venue is Austin. I am abandoning these productions and giving my money to small local venues that embrace my city from here on out. Band of Horses were wonderful, the Black Keys were good. The sound is decent. But I would have been ok not going to this show.

You will believe you are in front of Auerbach's amp!

by EricCuda on 10/20/22Moody Center ATX - Austin

The show was fantastic...and the Velveteers and Band of Horses were great openers!! Moody Center does need to dial in the sound still, though. There is too much reverb in the place. I know it's an arena, but there is NO WAY it was designed for sound in mind, like they've reported. I've been to 5 shows there....many genres....it needs to be improved...but I bet they leave it as is since it's really a basketball arena and loud crowd noise is the target. Oh well...there's always Bass! The concert was very enjoyable though inspite of the environment. I will return, of course.

    Venue

by T-LOC on 10/20/22Moody Center ATX - Austin

Good show, great bands. Venue was too bog for me. Band looked like ants from our seats. The tv monitors were not zooming in on the bands until the very end. The TV monitors should be making the band look bigger and not smaller than the actual stage?? Drink prices were out of control, $80 for one drink and two beers 🥺

    Ok

by DC Sanchez on 10/20/22Moody Center ATX - Austin

The merchandise was underwhelming and overpriced. I had ordered a shirt in a medium and the employee gave me a small (toddler size). When I realized that I went back to get a medium and the employee told me they had run out but was aware he had given me the wrong size. I was so upset. Anyways, The Black Keys are great but wish I'd seen them in a more intimate setting 10 years ago.

The Black Keys put on one hell of a show! They jammed!

by Robin From Pasadena on 10/18/22The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion presented by Huntsman - Woodlands

I couldn’t get up to even go to the restroom bc all of their songs were so good! I have to admit that I didn’t expect much, but I have never seen them. They knocked it out of the park- like the Astros did that night with 18 innings!

    First time for the Keys

by Dat Dude on 10/18/22The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion presented by Huntsman - Woodlands

This was my first time seeing the Black Keys. Very pleased with the performance. Saw Dan in Cleveland at the Agora a few years ago. I was a little disappointed in the sound for Band of Horses. Saw them quite a few times as headliners. Guess the opening band can’t sound better than the headliner. Still a fantastic show. Made the trip from New Orleans and would do it again.

    The Black Keys are Incredible

by K. P. on 10/18/22The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion presented by Huntsman - Woodlands

Took my 13-year-old daughter to see these guys and they blew us away! The stage show was just amazing, from the sound to the lighting and the visuals. I knew all of their songs that get air play but now we're fans of everything they do! I downloaded the Apple Music Essentials playlist the next day and this is my official soundtrack for mowing the yard and doing anything outside.
