Todd Rundgren Tickets

DIDN’T sing the songs from our era that we came to hear. My husband recognized one, me none. The people behind us said this concert was so different from the last one they saw him in a couple of years ago, that they were disappointed as well. We left early, two hours of our life wasted. Too bad because he had so many GREAT songs from the 70’s, he didn’t have to play them all but just about everyone in that crowd was around our age of mid to late 60’s.

Todd put together a set list of songs that over the years have been favorites of the true fans, not the folks who think he stopped making records after Something/Anything (1972) Nearly Human, Liars, Arena contain some of Todd's best work, and he put together a night of some of his finest work. Songs like "Hawking", Weakness, God Said & Beloved Infidel, along with classics like "The Last Ride"from 1974. Todd's music makes you think, laugh, cry, dance and sing along. The range of emotions you'll experience know no bounds. Todd is 75 years old and it seems he's not about to waste time trying to appease people who owns one or two of his albums. Instead, he's playing what's important in his vast catalog. Songs that are still relevant in todays world. He's giving us his best, not his most popular. You wanna hear Bang The Drum? Go to a Packers game and you'll hear it everytime they score a touchdown.

This was my 12th time over a decade in seeing Todd , very disappointed ☹️ on the song lineup I didn’t recognize any songs but two and that was before the show ended , although his voice sounded amazing !! The venue we went to is awesome for sound and stage although it was very disappointing and the crowd I think felt the same way , I was in the ladies room where they were talking poorly also on choice of music , when did Todd start rapping ? I will once again go see him and hopefully enjoy the show 👍👍👍👍

Todd show was great! Very impressive. Good vocals and harmonies. Band was awesome. Penn’s Peak. Love the venue as well. We had a great time. Have seen Todd in many different shows, singing Bowie, Beatles etc. This time was special just seeing him and his band! Go see the show.

Todd Rundgren FAR exceeded my expectations. I’ve seen Todd 2x before, but with additional acts on the bill. (Those shows were fine, but I had more interest in the other act.) I was going to this Todd show cos I haven’t been to a show for months. I know Todd is a consummate pro & he has many great songs spanning 50+ years. Also, the venue (PENNS PEAK, Jim Thorpe, PA, Pocono Mtns.) is one of the best in the area. Always GREAT sound, sits on top of a mountain. It was good to see Rundgren tickets SOLD OUT quickly. Todd Rundgren far exceeded my expectations. Simply a great night of music all around. Very nice stage, with projected, abstract city designs, lights. Todd’s tight band mined ‘Philly Soul’, leaning into jazz. Rundgren & band echoed his best ‘solo’ sound. Similar to his production on the album “HERMIT OF MINK HOLLOW”. The epitome & perhaps peak of Todd Rundgren’s carefully crafted pop. And, a clear, crisp, ‘off the beat’ drummer brought the funk. Rundgren didn’t play that much guitar, which is ok by me. He’s a very good guitar player, but he’s pretty straightforward on guitar. I prefer him on piano or just singing. He mainly sang. Still a great voice. He looked great, energetic, funny, sardonic, with years of live performances resulting in pin point musical accuracy. Songs never too long. He writes well defined, flowing songs. Overall, Rundgren is a bit underrated. [BRIEF BACKGROUND: Rundgren was playing Philadelphia @ 17 yrs. old. His first recorded songs came from the nationally released double solo album, “SOMETHING, ANYTHING”, some of the very first songs by an artist multi-tracking himself, playing most instruments with layered vocals, and when doubles album were a rarity. Especially, by a new unknown, young artist. The record brought all of Rundgren’s creativity & talents to critical acclaim. It produced two big ‘summer-like breeze’ singles “HELLO, IT’s ME”, & “I SAW THE LIGHT” written @ 19 yrs. old.] Fellow Philly musicians Darryl Hall & John Oates would borrow heavily from Rundgren, adding a heavy pop sound. H&O came after ‘THE NAZZ’ (Todd’s original Philly band) & ‘solo Todd Rundgren’ who was writing & playing Philly local music scene. The H&O boys were influenced by him, as the boys were going to TEMPLE U. H&O took Todd’s penchant for melody & added a heavy dose of almost bubble-gum pop resulting in many radio hits. Though, Rundgren is a deeper, original, more talented creative artist and producer.]

Amazing deep dive into rarely performed songs. This setlist and Me/We show is brilliant. I've seen Todd well over a 100 times and this show is right to the top. Yeah it is that good. I attended Milwaukee and realized I'd need multiple shows. I've seen four and holding a tix for 5 more. The lights, the sound and the amazing musicians that share the stage make this show spectacular. YOU MUST GO, DON'T MISS THIS ONE!

The show was excellent but if you are expecting songs from his first 8 or so albums, you will be disappointed. He does do some but goes to most of his 50 plus years of albums (such as nearly human, no world order, etc.) for many songs. He sounds good except for the occasional voice crackle which has been part of his shows for many years and is great to see him playing lead guitar on many songs. You will enjoy the show!!

Two long hours of his newer music that contain ZERO of his hits. His encore was a 2 minute medley of 3 hits. Waste of my time and money. He should be ashamed to do that to his fans.

Really enjoyed this deep tracks concert....much more than I expected ! The Band was tight and Todd was in good voice and spirit ✌ Encore was the commercial hits..........This was my 5th Todd Concert and absolutely the best ! Penn's Peak is the perfect venue to experience an intimate show..no bad seats !!!

I get it, if you’ve been playing your hit songs for 50 years, you might get a little bored. And I am certainly open to experiencing new creations from artists. However, a few more hit songs that the audience could enjoy and sing along to would have made the evening more memorable.

If there’s any question in your mind about whether you should see Todd Rundgren in concert, DO IT. He’s one of the greatest, trailblazing, most prolific musicians of our time. The show far exceeded all of my wildest wishes and expectations. He took us to church. As far as the venue — Penn’s Peak, Jim Thorpe, PA — goes, I will say at one point the crowd gathered at the back bar was very disruptive to an a cappella song (Honest Work). A sound barrier of some kind would have been nice. It was so disrespectful. If you don’t care about the music, why even be there? That’s a venue issue and nothing to do with Todd, who’s a Wizard, a True Star ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Mind blown. Transcendent.

I certainly respect that Mr. Rundgren has earned the right to play whatever songs he wants at this stage in his exceptional career. That said, when I first booked the tickets in January for my wife, daughter and soon-to-be son in law, I had them listen to mostly the well known hits from the 70's. NONE of which were played during the 90+ minute concert until the encore which included a shortened 3 minute combination of "I saw the light", "Hello it's me"and "Can we still be friends". followed by a short 3 minute version of "A dream goes on forever". My hat remains off to Todd for his great music, but I think if I had his ear, I'd ask him to include just a few of his 70's hit in the main body of the concert.

I've been a fan of Todd Rundgren for years. I own almost his entire catalogue and have a fair amount of familiarity with even his deepest tracks. His show in Indy was good. The sound and lighting were excellent. The musicianship was excellent. I know there are many musicians from his era that rely on their hits from back in the day. Todd is not one of them. He plays whatever the hell he wants, which is cool, but I honestly didn't recognize any of the songs he played that night. Sure, there was a medley of a few hits during the encore but that was it. For me, it would have been nice to have the show evenly split between what Todd wants to play and what the audience came to hear. It was after all, the people in the audience that bought his music and made him the legend he is today. To not play the stuff the audience came to hear is a slap in the face. Because if that, this is my third and final Todd Rundgren concert.

Todd Rundgren is not relevant, although he must think he is. There weren't 10 people under 65 at the show to hear the 5 songs they remember from when they listened to popular music. We wanted to hear those songs we really liked. His performance was 2 hours (commendable) and sounded good to my ear (although the man next to me said he couldn't sing anymore). Couldn't he have found the space to sprinkle in the hits? NO. His encore was a 3 minute medley of those songs followed by 2 more songs we didn't know (we left during song 2). I don't think he played Bang the drum (unless it was after I left) but I'm not a big fan of it. Were all the other songs new material he was promoting or song from 30, 40 or 50 years ago? I don't know and it doesn't matter. His audience doesn't care. We don't buy new music. We want to check off an item on our bucket list. Todd is off my buckist.

What an excellent concert and venue. This is my favourite band of all time. I wish they would come back more often. I do wish they would take reservations at Roadies. I would like to eat there before the concert, but living in Scranton, it's too far to come and not get served. The best part was seeing Kasim again, wish I could have gotten a chance to talk to him.
