About

Tears for Fears on Tour

Tears for Fears is so legendary that their unique interpretation of synth-pop is almost synonymous with '80s pop culture. Noel Gallagher of Oasis was even quoted referring to them as "the Beatles of the '80s." The group's masterful melodies and thought-provoking lyrics have captivated fans for over four decades, and now, they're back on the road for the trans-Atlantic The Tipping Point Tour. The tour takes its name from the duo's 2022 album, The Tipping Point, which is said to reflect the group's personal and professional "tipping points." The album's title track details life and struggles with grief and loss but does so in a characteristically uplifting way that only Tears for Fears can achieve. With such an emotionally charged yet upbeat album, fans can expect an unforgettable live show. Don't miss your chance to see Tears for Fears on their highly anticipated The Tipping Point Tour in 2022.

Tear for Fears Live in Concert

Tears for Fears was formed in Bath, England, in 1981 by Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith. The two derived the band name from psychologist Arthur Janov's unconventional primal scream therapy. Inspired by synth-pop artists like Gary Numan and Depeche Mode, the group developed a unique sound that quickly gained a devoted following. The band released their debut album, The Hurting, in 1983. The album reached No. 1 on the UK Albums Chart, and the single "Mad World" reached No. 3 in the UK and has remained popular since. The band's second album, Songs from the Big Chair, was released in 1985 and was an even bigger hit than their first. The album peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and went multi-platinum in the UK and U.S. It included hits like "Shout" and "Everybody Wants to Rule the World," which have maintained mainstream popularity to this day. The group split in 1991 after releasing their third platinum-selling album, The Seeds of Love, in 1989. Orzabal continued Tears for Fears as a solo act and released the albums Elemental in 1993 and Raoul and the Kings of Spain in 1995. Luckily, the pair reunited in 2000 and released the aptly named album Everybody Loves a Happy Ending in 2004. The band has toured since and released The Tipping Point in February 2022. The Tipping Point is their sixth UK Top 5 album.

    Awesome!

by Miki on 2/10/24Acrisure Arena at Greater Palm Springs - Palm Desert

Tears For Fears did not disappoint! They were awesome just as I imagined. So glad they went on tour and I got to see them. They have a special place in my heart. When my son was born in 1985, they were on the radio all of the time and Everybody wants to rule the world became his song, every time I hear it I think he is saying hi. Thank you for such an amazing memory.

A show I would love to experience again

by Kat Scarlet L. on 11/14/23

I saw Tears for Fears for their Tipping Point Pt. 2 tour and it was such an amazing show! The band was so amazing live, and hearing some of their songs live was such a special moment! Their performance of "Everybody Wants To Rule The World"is still one I think to this day; that performance was so magical, and I believe everyone should experience listening to that song live at least once! The show itself was so special, and I would love to see them again once they go back on tour!

by bearkiss on 9/26/23FirstBank Amphitheater - Franklin

wow - they played more than half of their wonderful new album "the tipping point".... sadly most in the audience were there for just the classic hits & you could tell they weren't enjoying the new songs... boy were they missing out! those were some of the best of the show! our show in franklin tn was filmed they said for a blu ray release.... can't wait for that! openers cold war kids were rather bland - nothing i'd want to see again

    TFF w/BFF

    by 80s Gal on 8/23/23

They were awesome even after all these years! Spent a little too much time on "new"songs even though we were there for the oldies but goodies. But, it's understandable they want to introduce us to new music to make new memories. They sounded fantastic and I am happy I went!
