Tears for Fears on Tour

Tears for Fears is so legendary that their unique interpretation of synth-pop is almost synonymous with '80s pop culture. Noel Gallagher of Oasis was even quoted referring to them as "the Beatles of the '80s." The group's masterful melodies and thought-provoking lyrics have captivated fans for over four decades, and now, they're back on the road for the trans-Atlantic The Tipping Point Tour. The tour takes its name from the duo's 2022 album, The Tipping Point, which is said to reflect the group's personal and professional "tipping points." The album's title track details life and struggles with grief and loss but does so in a characteristically uplifting way that only Tears for Fears can achieve. With such an emotionally charged yet upbeat album, fans can expect an unforgettable live show. Don't miss your chance to see Tears for Fears on their highly anticipated The Tipping Point Tour in 2022.

Tear for Fears Live in Concert

Tears for Fears was formed in Bath, England, in 1981 by Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith. The two derived the band name from psychologist Arthur Janov's unconventional primal scream therapy. Inspired by synth-pop artists like Gary Numan and Depeche Mode, the group developed a unique sound that quickly gained a devoted following. The band released their debut album, The Hurting, in 1983. The album reached No. 1 on the UK Albums Chart, and the single "Mad World" reached No. 3 in the UK and has remained popular since. The band's second album, Songs from the Big Chair, was released in 1985 and was an even bigger hit than their first. The album peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and went multi-platinum in the UK and U.S. It included hits like "Shout" and "Everybody Wants to Rule the World," which have maintained mainstream popularity to this day. The group split in 1991 after releasing their third platinum-selling album, The Seeds of Love, in 1989. Orzabal continued Tears for Fears as a solo act and released the albums Elemental in 1993 and Raoul and the Kings of Spain in 1995. Luckily, the pair reunited in 2000 and released the aptly named album Everybody Loves a Happy Ending in 2004. The band has toured since and released The Tipping Point in February 2022. The Tipping Point is their sixth UK Top 5 album.

    Tears For Fears...AWESOME !!!

Wainwright was taping video for his documentary for Tears for Fears in the line to get in. He asked if I was a fan of the band...I said they weren't my favorite band, but I liked their songs. THAT has since changed!!!! I will see them again and again......What an incredible concert! They sounded even better than on the cd's. They opened up with (see favorite moment below) and just pumped out hit after hit. I am now hooked on Tears For Fears. After I got home I went to check on their remaining gigs and saw they are playing in Portland Saturday,July 11.I wanted to see them again, and would of drove down from Seattle, but they are all sold out.I hope they return next year. Was VERY impressed with the concert!

Still great after all these years.

From the opening of "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" to the encore of "Shout", the show was nothing short of fantastic. Roland and Curt sound just as great as they did in their heyday and their songs hold timeless value. The only thing I would've liked less of was their opening act, who took the stage with them for several songs.

    Tears For Fears

by Valtini on 7/11/09Chateau Ste Michelle Winery - Woodinville

The band was amazing and they sounded great! If you like Teras for Fears, 80's music or a tight band, I highly recommend seeing their show. LUVED IT! I withheld a 5th star for two reasons. One, I wanted them to play more. They could easily add 3 or 4 more songs. Two, Roland is by far the better singer and needs to be singing all the songs. The songs he does not lead on are good verses great.

    Tears For Fears were excellent!

by Zachzman on 7/11/09Chateau Ste Michelle Winery - Woodinville

As a long time fan of Tears For Fears I found it amazing to even consider that they were performing again. I had to purchase tickets as soon as I heard they were going to be here in this area. While a few of the songs were a bit flat on the notes, it didn't take away from the overall presentation. We'd never been to a concert at Ste Michelle but I can guarantee we are now hooked. The ease of parking for FREE, FREE shuttle to the venue... great wines, good food selections though we brought our own picnic and the performance on top of that made last night an awesome experience for us.

Now all we need is a new album. This was a great show. A highlight was "Woman in Chains" with Oleta Adams part sung by the opening act, Michael Wainwright. It was great to see that they were enjoying themselves. Hope to see you again soon.
