About

Named in 2011 as one of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time magazine, Sting remains one of music’s major players, touring and recording at a prolific rate. Inspired by a musical he penned by the same name, Sting released his 11th solo album, The Last Ship, in September, 2013. The musical, a telling of the demise of the shipbuilding industry in Sting’s hometown of Wallsall, UK, opens on Broadway in 2014.

Singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, world music aficionado, activist, actor, and philanthropist, Sting has worn a multitude of hats over a career that goes all the way back to the early ‘70s. While known as the voice, songwriter, and bassist for the phenomenally successful band The Police, it is as a solo artist that the breadth of his talents have truly shone. From his beginnings as a brash punk rocker, Sting evolved into an artist who incorporated everything from jazz to reggae to classical. His 1985 release, Dream of the Blue Turtles, set the tone for his metamorphosis as a solo artist and was notable for his use of renowned jazz musicians within a pop rock setting.

Sting was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003 as a member of the Police, and has won a total of 16 Grammy Awards for his work with the band and as a soloist. Add to that three Brit Awards, a Golden Globe, Emmy Award, and several Oscar nominations and one begin to understand the scope of his popularity. Always a crowd pleaser in a concert setting, ticket sales for Sting shows are strong across the globe. Over the course of their career, Sting has played many famous venues, like Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion and Madison Square Garden.

    OMG Sting!

by Sting Forever on 10/17/23The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory - Irving

OMG, the Sting concert was incredible. It started right on time with the opening act, Mr Sumner who had an amazing voice. The weather was perfect. It was just a fabulous evening with the wonderful Sting.

This is how it should be.

by Jeff on 10/17/23The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory - Irving

We are concert people, and our wheelhouse is 70's & 80's rock. In 24 years together, easily 100 concerts. Probably not 200, but close. Few acts have aged well, but man, Sting would be incredible if this had been the first time we'd ever heard him. An.Epic.Show.

    Live nation signage

by Wendy on 10/17/23The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory - Irving

Couple things: Sting was amazing. As always 1). The email should have included a map for parking. Finding the right lot for our package was absolutely miserable. 2) the signage for VIP PACKAGE was nonexistent. There should very clear signage and possibly provide a map and specifics. It ULTIMATE VIP line up here in Lane 1. 3) the venue was great with exception of the 2 items above

    Sting Show

by Dave972 on 10/17/23The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory - Irving

Sting put on a Great show. Lots of energy and he played for almost 2 hrs. I love the Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory venue. We sat on the lawn with rented chairs. The Fast Pass was well worth the money for avoiding the line , we breezed right in. It was also cool enough to really enjoy an outdoor concert.

Sting, every little thing he does is magic…

by The Dude on 10/17/23The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory - Irving

The first time I saw the Police was in 1983… 55,000 screaming, bouncing, dancing and the energy was electric! Sting was jumping off amps… well, he’s not jumping anymore, at 73, but the music pops and makes you feel alive and truly optimistic about your life and touches not only the heart, but the soul. Thank you for songs and memories that will stand and last the test of time. Still buzzing!

STING STUNG US ALL WITH AN AWESOME EVE

by mollygee on 10/17/23Arizona Financial Theatre - Phoenix

STING'S INTIMATE PERFORMANCE WAS GREAT. HIS CONVERSATIONS WITH THE AUDIENCE LET US ALL FEEL A NEW FOUND FRIENDSHIP. HIS VOICE IS AS STRONG, VIBRANT, AND MELANCOLY AS IN THE PAST. HE ENTERTAINED, NEVER STOPPED FOR A MINUTE. THE MUSICIANS THAT ACCOMPANIED HIM WERE OF GREAT TALENT AS WELL. THE AUDIENCE WOULD NOT SIT DOWN OR STOP THE CHANTS UNTIL STING AND HIS GROUP RETURNED FOR AN ENCORE. SURPRISE REVEAL THAT THE OPENING ACT WAS HIS SON, WHO IS AN AMAZING PERFORMER AS WELL.

    Sting concert

by Maria on 10/16/23Cal Coast Credit Union Open Air Theatre at SDSU - San Diego

The show was great, but the access and parking was terribly bad, with no signals or helping people at all. It was most stressful …unfortunately

Great show but the drummer needs work

by Nate on 10/15/23Toyota Pavilion at Concord - Concord

Sting is still amazing after all these years, possibly even sounding better than in the old Police days. Perfect selection of songs performed with emotion and flair. Somewhat disappointed by the drummer though - he missed several of the characteristic elements of songs including Brand New Day (offbeat snare hits) and Every Little Thing She Does is Magic (hi hat riffs). You gotta go back and listen to the original tracks bro!

    Sting: It was the best!

by MikeG on 10/15/23Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

Sting is still the goat. He played for over 2 hours non stop. Ask so the opening band was great. It was awesome. My only criticism is that the Hollywood bowl needs to be better organized. Some of the escalators were not in use. The process getting into the venue was really slow, and the handicap line leading to the elevator was ridiculous, there was really no definite line. Just a bunch of people trying to mesh into different lines. Also the Sting souvenir booth was terrible. Again not very organized, people cutting in lines because there were no definitive lines, and the workers were extremely slow and did not even know the answers regarding the merchandise they were selling. But again the concert itself was awesome. We had a great time.

    No parking

by Disappointed Fan on 10/14/23Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

I spent more than two hours driving around the Hollywood Bowl looking for parking. I missed the concert. I have been to the Bowl a hundred times. This has NEVER happened. Very disappointed.

Great concert in Phoenix and Sting still has IT! He shared with the audience some intimate stories of his life, and ROCKED the venue with Fragile and Brand New Day.

    Sting is better than ever!

by Jimmy the K on 10/12/23Arizona Financial Theatre - Phoenix

The great set list, energy, and crowd made for an awesome evening. His guitar player Dominic Miller is a fantastic player. There is so much chemistry between Sting and Dominic. I will definitely see him next time he's in town. I took my 12-year-old son who loved the show too.

    Excellent sound & Venue!

by Dean on 10/12/23Arizona Financial Theatre - Phoenix

Everything from the time we walked in was a great experience! From the box office folks to the concessions counter & the stand alone wine & drink bars was all top notch customer service. The concert mix sounded phenomenal. The balance of band to Sting’s vocal was superb the entire show through! Great job by all staff at Arizona Financial Theater!

    Intelligent excellence

by Jocelyn on 10/12/23Arizona Financial Theatre - Phoenix

The Sing concert with his son opening was an experience with intelligent song writing and outstanding musicianship. His band was incredible and the singers were mesmerizing. It is not often when the audience was thrilled to hear someone other than the headliner sing but they were amazing talents on their own!

    Good show

by Hols on 10/12/23Arizona Financial Theatre - Phoenix

The show itself was great! Sting was awesome. The only drawback was the couple in front of us. Both were very drunk. Kissing, talking, laughing through the entire show. My husband couldn’t even see Sting on stage because of all of their cuddling.
