I always wanted to see BSO, n cruise to one of his shows in my GTO n listen to his epi DOT vampin away on chords A through G
I always wanted to see the BSO and especially the Christmas show. He did not disappoint at all! Having an 18 piece orchestra and 2 backup singers really gives them a lot of depth. The Big Band sound goes perfectly with Brian's Rockabilly past. They even played 6 Stray Cats songs, which everyone enjoyed. And, without any introductions, he played Wichita Lineman (My Wife recognized it first!) a great tribute to Glen Campbell, a true Titan of music. Then, he went into Runnin' Down A Dream, another nice tribute to an icon lost in 2017. Very classy guy who still rips on the guitar. This show is for all ages, I would definitely recommend you see it at least once. I will be watching to see when the next BSO concert comes to town. I now want to see their regular show. Go BSO!
so much fun. Visually colorful and Christmasy. Brian has great energy and I was just smiling and singing along most the time. It was so joyful.
BSO is amazing, he connects with the audience, and ROCKS IN CHRISTMAS. We have been going for 8 years and this concert has become a Christmas Tradition in our house. This year was extra special because our boys came home from college just in time to make it to the Dolby Theater to see BSO rock in the Holidays for us. Also, Brian Setzer is a CLASS ACT, the dedication he did to Glen Campbell & Tom Petty was spot on and so cool... all I can say is this was unexpected, but showed so much respect to his fellow musicians. If you want to get into the Christmas Spirit, then this concert is a must. Thank you Brian & Band for many years of music, and keeping a beautiful family tradition strong, Merry Christmas.
My 6th straight year seeing the orchestra blow out Christmas! From 2 year olds to 92 year olds, EVERYONE leaves with a big smile! Don't miss next years show!
What can I say, Brian Setzer and his orchestra were terrific. The show never let up -- super up tempo - I was surprised that they could keep the pace for the entire time that they were on stage. 13 Horns on stage - Wow. The two back-up singers added a great old school vibe as well -- really terrific. This was the first time that I saw the Christmas Show -- I can't wait to see them next year !
Such a talented man! We were rockin from the moment he stepped on stage, til his final bow. Orchestra was as amazing as Brian. Dolby is a great venue. Easy in, easy out.
I thought the performance was spectacular. Brian has been neglected when lists of great guitarists have been published. He's a phenomenal act with an even more phenomenal voice. I only have two small complaints. 2. The band did a great cover of Tom Petty's Running Down a Dream, yet Tom wasn't given credit or a simple rest in peace. 2. I was also disappointed that they did not perform Zat You Santa Claus. I was really looking forward to that performance.
Loved the show but this venue is not the best. It's just my personal preference.
