  • Amazing venue just need more food vendors inside

by Jamie on 10/28/25Show Place Arena - Upper MarlboroRating: 4 out of 5

Amazing show, as always. Sad they didn't do the wall jump like they used to. Only had two food vendors inside....there were a bunch of food trucks but I guess they were super far away and you have to basically scan in and scan out every time you leave the building. Still a great time, just wanted different food :)

  • Fun, unique event

by jc on 10/26/25Show Place Arena - Upper MarlboroRating: 4 out of 5

It was a lovely evening. For someone who enjoys horses and events that you can't do any day of the year, this is fun. Watching the horses compete, seeing a rider's relationship with the horses, figuring out how the scoring works, etc. is lovely. Only main thing from my perspective is that the food at the little cafe thing wasn't the best -- fast and ready to go but not super tasty. I would go again.

  • Fun time

by Dianna on 10/26/25Show Place Arena - Upper MarlboroRating: 5 out of 5

The horse show was fun and entertaining. The horses were beautiful. You could really see how much work both the rider and the horse must put into jumping. The arena was nice. Plenty of leg room and mostly comfortable seats. Only problem we encountered was a lack of a way for handicapped individuals in need of walking assistance getting to their seats. There are lots of steps everywhere.

  • Best riders and horses! Amazing!

by Horsegirl on 9/30/25Rating: 5 out of 5

The WIHS never disappoints! The best riders and horses in the world come to DC. I cannot believe how close you feel to the horses in this arena. So much fun! I will be sure to come back year after year. The food options have improved too.

Great experience and venue! Went shopping before the main event and was able to put all my bags in my car unlike when it was in DC. Truly enjoyed it! Will be back next year!!!

  • Boring

The Washington international horse show has really gone downhill the last few years! We were there for two hours and 15 minutes and only saw one event and it was just the same thing over and over and over with a different rider. Barn night is supposed to be a lot funner! Where were the little kids on the ponies? Where were the dog races? There wasn’t a lot of fun.

  • Horrible venue

by Oshmom on 11/3/23Show Place Arena - Upper MarlboroRating: 1 out of 5

I’ve gone every year for 10+ years. Paid for premier tickets but ended up watching the final night from home. The venue is way too far from DC and with traffic it was 2 hours to get there every night. It’s a tiny venue and not worth it. Unless they move it back to Downtown DC I won’t go again.

  • Saturday at WIHS

by CH on 11/3/23Show Place Arena - Upper MarlboroRating: 5 out of 5

The horse show was fantastic. Professional course management, good pacing of events, excellent sight lines. We will be back! A few minor wrinkles - there’s no indication on the emailed ticket or the associated documents that the purchase included the buffet. At the buffet itself, there were no labels on the items - you know, little markers saying “risotto with cumin” etc. a work in progress I guess. In one webpage, WIHS headquarters near Annapolis map loaded instead of the Show venue in Largo - oops! On the other hand, parking (which was free) was particularly well organized. Overall, it was a great experience and we recommend it highly!

  • Food options terrible

by Lizt on 10/31/23Show Place Arena - Upper MarlboroRating: 4 out of 5

The in-house options were terrible and almost everything was sold out by 7pm. To be fair the taste was fine by the options were just whatever they managed to get catered in. No hot food, very few choices, and most things sold out. We went back for cake and they didn't have any forks left. The Grand Prix itself was great but cost was very high for not having really concessions and having to drive several miles out of the city
