Magic & Illusion
Penn & Teller On Tour
Not exactly comedians but more than just magicians, Penn & Teller bring a quirky combination of laughs and illusions to every performance. You're ready to laugh before they even trot out their tricks, with the big, brash Penn Jillette towering over his staid, unspeaking partner Teller. And once they dip into the bag of tricks they've been perfecting since the 1970s, you're simultaneously dazzled and delighted. Whether they're working with things like magic bullets, nail guns, and straitjackets, or just employing a seemingly ordinary deck of cards to demonstrate some sleight of hand, the duo can make you doubt your own senses as they appear to make the impossible happen right before your eyes. Sometimes they toss a touch of danger into the mix, and sometimes they simply play the whole thing for laughs, but whatever illusion they're unveiling, Penn & Teller can always pull it off.
Penn & Teller Background
America's most famous magic/comedy duo actually started out as a trio in the '70s, but when third member Weir Chrisemer left in 1981, Penn Jillette and Raymond Teller (who has always gone by just his surname) continued on together, and it was then that their star began to rise. With TV appearances on such shows as Late Night With David Letterman and Saturday Night Live, a series of Broadway shows, and their own Emmy-winning special on PBS, Penn & Teller carved out a niche in show business and became household names in the process. In the years that followed, they became TV personalities in their own right, first with a Showtime series and then with Fool Us on the CW. They've earned their own star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame. They've appeared in music videos by Run-DMC and Katy Perry. They've established a record-breaking residency in Las Vegas. And throughout all of these accomplishments, Penn & Teller have shown that a big, loud guy and a small, silent guy can make people gasp and guffaw at the same time.
A fun experience from beginning to end! Very family friendly and enjoyable even for the most skeptical of magic shows.
What a super show! These masters of the art were funny, engaging, polished and delivered some clever stuff for a good-sized crowd in a lovely theatre within the Rio hotel/casino. And it was family-friendly (which not all their stuff has been over the years). We saw them at the Edinburgh festival many years ago (20+) and that show was more '15' or '18' certificate; this was much less harrowing other than one mildly brutal moment, and was 90 mins of great entertainment. Vegas has so many shows to choose from - choose this one!
One of the best shows in Vegas Great for whole family They are still on top of their game. Really fun show.
They made us feel like we were the only show they have done. Very personal and intimate. My wife was not as big of a fan as I am but she is now. Great job guys!!
I read many not so great reviews but still wanted to see for myself. These guys are still GREAT!!!! I now think the reviews were from people who like the flashy lights and illusion type magic. Penn and Teller don’t need the flashy to blow your mind! If you are in doubt, go see them, you will NOT be disappointed!
The best in comedy and magic...................................................................................................
Truly enjoyed the show. Saw it about 6 years ago and this time we were close to the stage and enjoyed it even more. Both Penn and Tellerare equally fun to watch and together made for one very entertaining evening
Classic Penn & Teller. Always a great time. The audience involvement was fun. Some new tricks, lots of classics.
Truly two treasures, perfectly practiced performers
I've been a Penn & Teller fan for decades, so I was looking forward to finally seeing them in person -- and they did not disappoint. Their mix of head-scratching tricks and comedy still holds up. And it's also nice to see a show that you can take the whole family to. One potential area of improvement: We were sitting just a few rows back, but there were times when I had trouble hearing, well, Penn.
They do not disappoint. Very entertaining and great magicians too. Reminded me of the Marx bros a bit.
These guys have been around forever, but the magic and comedy still feel fresh. Was a blast getting to be part of the audience participation. If possible, I'll definitely go again.
I grew up watching Penn and Teller and seeing them in person was something that I will forever cherish. The guys and their crew were amazing in every way! It was disappointing that since COVID they no longer conduct a meet and greet, but I completely understand why they don’t. If you get a chance to see some of the best magic in the world, go see Penn and Teller!!!!
Penn&Teller are hands down the best act in Vegas. I have been a fan for 40 years and they are in a league of their own. The genius of storytelling and sleight of hand is unmatched. Love love love them! But, I also had blacked rimmed glasses why didn’t you pick me! 😢
This was not only a great magic show but also a comedy show!! I will come see them again next time I’m in Las Vegas.
Went to the Penn & Teller Show at the Rio in Las Vegas Friday Evening and it was Fabulous. This show met all Our expectations , well worth seeing.
Great show! Fresh material, lots of audience interaction! Appreciate that they continue to innovate and create even if it’s not the huge showy illusions that others do!
Penn and Teller have been performing for as long as I can remember and for good reason. The combination of magic and humor is very entertaining. They involve multiple members of the audience and the show flows very well. My son and I had front row seats and even being that close to the performers, they are so good at their craft that they will leave you asking "how did they do that", even on tricks that you have seen before. I would recommend this show without hesitation to anyone who appreciates magic being performed by these masters of performance!
Glad to finally see these great performers live! Great theatre....great music....great interaction and a great show! I strongly encourage you to check 'em out when in Vegas!
Seen before. Was worth seening again. Fun amazing illusions.
