About

Carrot Top (the stage name of Scott Thompson) is one of today's most celebrated and successful comedians. With his high-energy stage presence and endless supply of clever, inventive props, Carrot Top has entertained audiences worldwide, from his numerous live shows in Las Vegas and across the nation to his frequent television appearances. Carrot Top performed his first stand-up show at an open mic night while attending Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton. Upon graduation, he worked a number of odd jobs while honing his stand-up act, eventually performing at clubs in Florida and North Carolina. Soon Carrot Top was performing across the U.S. and landed his first TV appearance on the show Comic Strip Live and his first appearance on The Tonight Show in 1992. Carrot Top was named both Entertainer of the Year and Comedian of the Year by National Association of Campus Activities in 1993, and in the following year he won the American Comedy Award for Best Male Stand-Up. Today, Carrot Top's live show has grown to rock-n-roll proportions, employing music, fog machines and other stage effects. At the center of the live show remain Carrot Top's off-the-wall personality, ripped-from-the-headlines subject matter, and witty, laughter-inducing props.

He put on a awesome show, laughs from start to finish.

by A. on 5/20/19MGM Northfield Park - Center Stage (formerly Hard Rock Live) - Northfield

Carrott top puts on a awesine show i laughed from start to finish. I just wish the show was a little longer. It was only 1 - 1/2 hours. It would have been better as a 2 hour show, being i drove a hour and 40 minutes one way to get there.

    Funnier then expected

by R. E. on 5/19/19MGM Northfield Park - Center Stage (formerly Hard Rock Live) - Northfield

I've always thought of Carrot Top as strictly a prop comic, but that was only about half of his how. He was funny as a regular stand up as well and the props made me laugh harder then I thought they would. Definitely worth the $20 I paid for my ticket. I wish there had been a warm up act, but overall I'd recommend him. It was a fun and funny night out.

    Terrible seating

by J. C. on 5/19/19MGM Northfield Park - Center Stage (formerly Hard Rock Live) - Northfield

Anyone going to a show better be friends with whomever they sit next to. There was absolutely no room between each others hips. Very unpleasant. Video screens leave alot to be desired.

This show was great and loved the personal touch in the middle of the show. Very funny as usual and nice to have family at the show. Be sure to sign up for a meet and greet with Scott (Carrot Top)! He is truly a class act and takes the time to sign autographs pose for several pictures! Also, check out his show at the Luxor in Las Vegas.

Love his show. I seen his show in Vegas and it was awesome. The show at Northfield was a lil bit better I think but the seating is not very comfortable. I could go see his show over and over again. Good times.

    Comic Genius

by Beni on 4/26/19Global Event Center at WinStar World Casino and Resort - Thackerville

He is filthy, disrespectful, and we laughed from the minute he came on stage until he left. Come to think of it, we are still laughing. I have wanted to see him perform live ever since I first saw him on Carson's show, and this was a real privilege. Thanks!

All hail the bizarre looking redhead!

by Rockerwanabe on 3/28/19Global Event Center at WinStar World Casino and Resort - Thackerville

Carrot Top is a comedian that has always held many questions. Is that his real hair? Is he gay? Why the eyeliner? Just how much cosmetic surgery has he had? Is he the offspring of Kathy Griffin and Thundercat? Oh who knows, but with lights and music filling the place Carrot Top came wheeling onto the stage with the help of a scooter. Yes, he busted his ankle during a recent snowboarding crash, but the show must go on! He made the comment that when he was snowboarding some kid thought he was Olympic snowboarder, Shaun White and wanted his autograph. He replied, “Sure, I can give you Shaun White’s autograph. I can sign Michael Jordan’s as well if you’d like.” Speaking of kids, this is NOT a show for the kiddos. Yes, Carrot Top seems to have a fondness for the “F” word. And we’re not talking, “Fine, fearless, freckles” here. And beware, because he likes to wave a few questionable props around on stage. Probably not props you’ll find at your local Spencer’s store. “Try checking these through airport security,” he said laughing at his own jokes. Of course it’s Carrot Top, so there are props galore! In fact, there were six or seven chests full of them on stage. I was a bit frighten of what he was going to pull out next. Going retro he pulled out some props he used way back in the 80’s. “People in their 20’s are scratching their heads,” he said as he joked around with stuff that one must have a few candles on their birthday cake to understand. Darn those millennials. He even used his scooter as a prop. “People always say I use props as a crutch. So now I’m using my crutch as a prop.” And if he couldn’t find enough stuff in his chests to get laughs, well there’s always, HIM. Someone once asked actor Don Knotts how he could be so funny, and he replied that it helps to look like him. Such is a philosophy that Carrot Top has embraced to an art form. “Of course this is my real hair,” Carrot Top blurted out. Do you think I’d buy a wig that looks like this?” He mentioned being in Tulsa the night before. “Dang that Oklahoma wind. I used to have straight hair.” As for face lifts, “You think I paid money to look like this?” “That’s a lot to take in, I know,” he said to some of the those on the front row as he got a little close to them. However, Carrot Top never mentioned his hours in the weight room, thus the Thundercat reference. He did take one poke at another famous redhead. Our president. But after a less than stellar response, he quickly shied away from the political stuff. “Oh, not the right crowd,” he said moving on to other topics. He did congratulate the Dallas Cowboys on another Super Bowl win. Okay, an even touchier subject. I’ve seen a lot of standup, but Carrot Top is certainly in a class of his own. I mean, just look at him. And has Jay Leno ever come on stage lugging seven chests full of stuff? I think not! I also have to wonder if I should I call him Carrot or Mr. Top? Now there’s a question. There were also all those well-timed sound effects that he orchestrated into his show like a Broadway Musical. Okay, that may be stretching things a bit, but what I really liked about Mr. Top’s performance was that he just reminded me of some of the crazy guys I knew back in college and beyond. Alright, so I entered the show with the feeling, “I could be home watching the Big 12 basketball tournament right now,” but I left the show as a riveting member of the Carrot Top Nation (if there is such a thing). All hail the bizarre looking redhead, and I don’t mean Kathy Griffin. Of course this leaves me with another question. I read that some coach back in his school days gave him the name Carrot Top because of his red hair. I have brown hair, so what kind of name would that leave me? A thought to ponder.

On Our Last Leg With Carrot Top!

by Buttercup on 3/22/19Global Event Center at WinStar World Casino and Resort - Thackerville

We drove in from Houston to see Carrot Top at the Winstar Global Event Center in Thackerville. He was hilarious! Very witty, colorful material and a unique entertainer. Great seats, nice venue and although Mr. Top was in a cast due to a snowboarding accident he did an hour and a half set and kept the laughs coming! The last time I personally seen him was at a Texas Magicians Convention mid-80's and early in his career. Hilarious then and hilarious now! We had a great time and are looking forward to seeing his show again!
