About

Pearl Jam is an alternative rock band formed in Seattle, Washington in 1990. The band's lineup consists of bassist Jeff Ament, rhythm guitarist Stone Gossard, lead guitarist Mike McCready, lead singer/guitarist Eddie Vedder and drummer Matt Cameron. Thirty-plus years of live performances, twelve studio albums and hundreds of official live concert bootleg releases later, Pearl Jam continues to be critically acclaimed and commercially successful. The band has sold over 85 million albums worldwide and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2017. Pearl Jam's new album, Dark Matter, is out April 19, 2024. Since the earliest days, Pearl Jam has used its platform to elevate people and causes that often go unnoticed or underserved. Much of the band’s philanthropic work is accomplished through its Vitalogy Foundation which to date has raised more than $50 million for organizations supporting issues such as abortion access, climate change and homelessness, and drawing attention to the fight against diseases such as Crohn’s and ulcerative colitis and epidermolysis bullosa (EB). In addition to the money Vitalogy donates, the band also donates signed instruments, posters and merchandise to organizations to use for their own fundraising purposes. Compounding the impact of Vitalogy Foundation, the band has supported Jeff Ament’s Montana Pool Service in building skate parks in Montana and South Dakota. Pearl Jam also lends its voice to notable causes like the West Memphis 3, voting rights and fair ticketing practices. Over the past three decades, the band has a long history of standing up for what it believes in and putting its resources behind those beliefs. Through its innovative Ten Club and fan engagement, community building, coveted poster designs, and longstanding activism and philanthropy, Pearl Jam continues to have a lasting impact on generations of music lovers.

    I'm still alive!

by Studebaker Hawk on 5/24/24Kia Forum - Inglewood

Pearl jam proves once again why they are still one of the greatest live bands in America. Every time I see them it makes me feel good to be alive. The projection screen across the whole stage featured not only the band but the audience, and that showed thoughtfulness and inclusiveness, which has always been a Pearl Jam value. If only one didn't have to jump through so many hoops to get tickets, it would be even more fabulous. Remember when tickets cost less than concert t-shirts do now? The one thing I really didn't enjoy were the security ogres, (sorry, officers,) at the KIA Forum seating areas. Not only were they blocking some fans' views by standing in the way, but I don't understand why you need to keep people out of seats that remained vacant for the entire show? No one seemed to be able to explain that to me, and I asked nicely, unlike others who argued while blocking more views. That put a damper on my otherwise phenomenal concert experience. If security officers were simply available instead of oppressive, then the Forum wouldn't need to pay so many people, and ticket prices would be more reasonable.

    Pearl Jam Rawks!

    by D.Cruz on 5/24/24Kia Forum - Inglewood

Cool venue, in a cool city, with a kick ass band! Of course you always hope they'll play all the hits, but they did sprinkle in the hits in-between the new stuff and some deep cuts. Eddie's voice is going strong and the band was amazingly epic! Once in a lifetime show in SoCal! Five stars!

    Definitely Good, Not Amazing

by Tonic on 5/24/24Kia Forum - Inglewood

I went to PJ b/c I'd heard from so many people that they were amazing in concert. Just transcendent and magical. They're a very good band, who play really well together. But it wasn't a transcendent or exceptional experience. A couple things stood out: The sound was just ok. This may be The Forum or the band, but either way, the separation and clarity of the instruments wasn't great. So a lot of McCreedy's solos were somewhat buried in the mix. Also, they played in either complete darkness, or very low light most of the show. Which given their pretty minimal use of the screen behind them -- which was sometimes the only light source for the stage -- made them visually pretty inaccessible. This may work well on a different night for whatever reasons, but left my 3 friends and I wondering why we went to SEE PJ but could only -- mostly -- hear them through a pretty average PA. Vedder is a great front man, they have one of the best drummers in the world, and McCreedy can definitely play ripping solos. But there was no real through line to the show, no place they took us that felt mapped out in advance, and a set list that even though it had a fair amount of their most famous songs -- that rocked -- that felt like it was anything more than a competent enough piecing together of their large catalogue. Plus they ended the show, after 'Alive' and a cover of 'Baba O'Reilly' -- both of which were great -- with a new, slow track from their latest album. My friends and I were sure there had to be another classic to follow, cuz why would they end a show on this moody, not super interesting note. But they did, which only compounded the feeling of it being a disjointed set. I'm sure b/c I've heard it from enough people that they are capable of being amazing live. This just wasn't up to that level. I don't know what the elements are that bring it to that level, but they didn't seem to be on or working very well, even though the crowd was very enthusiastic.

    Fantastic!!!

by Rob on 5/24/24Kia Forum - Inglewood

Being a concert-goer for over 50 years, having seen the lows and highs of performance, Pearl Jam was definitely a high point. They are spectacular musicians and it was unforgettable night!

    4th PJ Show

by DK on 5/24/24Kia Forum - Inglewood

This was my 4th PJ show. I thought the setlist started out very slow, the visuals were sub par and the overall setlist fairly weak. Disappointed for a band of PJs capabilities.

Sweet Jesus these guys are still AMAZING!

by ThatAudioGuy on 5/24/24Kia Forum - Inglewood

The first night it felt like the audience was really behind the band and we were richly rewarded with an amazing setlist that included nine of the 11 songs off Dark Matter. The internal chemistry seemed to be higher than I've ever seen. It seems like a small thing, but having each member repeatedly providing backing-vocals throughout the concerts came across as "we are a band"rather than just an assemblage of insanely talented musicians (I certainly never knew Mike and Jeff's voices were so good). All throughout the concert it felt like we were being taken through a deep emotional journey complete with tears of loss, exorcism of demons, and affirmation of self. Like a two and a half hour therapy session, you were a better human being on the other end of the experience. The second night was a completely different approach to a similar outcome. I deliberately held a reserve of energy from the first night to spend on the second. Combining that with a slightly more energetic setlist, I came home drenched in sweat and hoarse of voice. Right now there is a strength and poignance to their performances that is inspiring. I already can't wait to see them on their next tour.

    Too many new songs!!!

    by PJ42069 on 5/24/24Kia Forum - Inglewood

For a band with 30+ years of music to play 9 of 11 new songs is just stealing money from their loyal fans. Musically they sounded amazing, but the setlist was boring with too many lulls and even the crowd was sitting down most of the show. I am still mad to spend $175/ticket on that setlist.

    Great show

by PJFan on 5/24/24Kia Forum - Inglewood

This was an amazing show but I'm disappointed in PJ. When we bought our tickets, the floor chart did not show there would be a general admission section in the very front by the stage. I feel duped.

    PJ LA Night1

by Dez on 5/24/24Kia Forum - Inglewood

Still wrapping my head around it…. Waking up with the headline, if that was someones first PJ show it was a great one. Also proud of the LA audience, best crowd I’ve seen out here at a PJ show. Sure most were into the early stuff, a few confused lost/looks during Save You/Got Some but on their feet for State, Alive, etc. Ed was in great form, Mike was on fire. Highlights were Oceans into Come Back, In My tree (which was on my bucket list.) Story in my head is that by now Ed is aware how great the new songs mix with the old ones and that playing the first four tracks back to back doesn’t have to be the way. Slipping Got Some in the middle and then back to Dark Matter was awesome. But Evenflow to Upper Hand was insane as was In My Tree into Waiting for Stevie. These guys are so tight. Watt came out and played Eds part on Rearviewmirror. Alot of songs on the setlist that I hadn’t seen since the Lighting Bolt shows in 2013. Best thing about these guys and seeing them so long is I'm okay that there was no Black/Courduroy/Betterman. And I’ve seen Just Breathe so many times between them and Ed’s solo stuff, that you can just sit and enjoy it and not worry about filming it.

    Pearl Jam LA 5/21/24

    by SoCal99 on 5/24/24Kia Forum - Inglewood

Pearl Jam put in a great show, as always! The acoustics at the KIA Forum were amazing, I saw Pearl Jam at the Forum in the late 90’s, and the sound was horrible! Getting into the venue and leaving were very easy. Thank you!

    by Ash on 5/24/24

Its amazing how good these guys are after 30 years! Show was great, setlist was epic, so many songs that we don't usually get to hear live we're included. Eddie was so interactive with the audience, shared so many cool stories!
