    Best stage play ever!

by Jean on 5/1/24DeVos Performance Hall - Grand Rapids

Wonderful play. Richard Thomas was excellent as Atticus Finch. The young man who plays Dill was fantastic. Tom Robinson was wonderful too. Such a relevant story for today.

    Powerful

by Saph on 5/1/24DeVos Performance Hall - Grand Rapids

This performance was amazing. It was nearly 3 hours but definitely didn’t feel like it. It was riveting, and funny while still maintaining the power of the story. Loved it.

In this version of To Kill A Mockingbird the dialogue was beautifully updated to reveal a story that is not done being told!

    Beautiful, funny, and relevant

by MDS7510 on 4/30/24DeVos Performance Hall - Grand Rapids

Wow, What a great story filled with ugliness, beauty, humor, sadness and relevance. The cast was amazing. The way humor diffused some of the hatred was very well executed, but also real to the characters personalities. The Boo Radley piece took a while to really develop (in my mind), but once it did, it was quite poignant. I highly recommend seeing this show.

    Excellent production

by Donna on 4/30/24DeVos Performance Hall - Grand Rapids

I’m one of the few people who wasn’t required to read To Kill a Mockingbird when I was in school. However I did read it this winter when my 14 year old granddaughter read it and the two of us attended the show together….a 70 year old and a 14 year old and we both loved it. The acting was great and the 3 hour show went very quickly. I was especially impressed by so many funny lines (mostly involving the children) that added some comedy relief to such a serious story. It bothered my granddaughter that the children’s roles were played by adults but I really didn’t even notice. I would highly recommend this show.
