It was better than I expected. The actors portrayed the characters in a way that really got the point across. I was very impressed with the performance.
Thoroughly enjoyed this production . The cast was amazing ! Every one of them! Always a treat to see Richard Thomas as I grew up watching him and The Homecoming is a Christmas tradition at our house. Kudos to the entire production team!!
This has long been my favorite book and Gregory Peck movie. I think this presentation expands its influence on our society today more than the original must have when released. Richard Thomas (Atticus Finch) and all of the actors on stage were brilliant! May Atticus’s hope be realized soon!
The entire cast was so professional and well spoken. Enjoyed every minute of it.
It's fun to go downtown anytime. But if you can see a great performance, it's an added bonus! This play is still very relevant today. I loved it!
One of the best plays I have seen. Must see if you get a chance.
Performance was great. Additional women's restrooms needed. In the interim, intermission needs to be longer as there were long lines remaining as the performance resumed.
Unfortunately, Atticus is the least racist person in a whole town of racists. His character is able to overlook his friends' and neighbors' tendencies to want to murder blacks and to call them (the townspeople) brave and fine people. So disturbing.
The performance of to kill a Mockingbird was absolutely over the top! The cast was extremely talented and it was an absolutely wonderful Broadway production! I’m so thankful I had the opportunity to experience this! Thank you
Absolutely amazing Broadway show!! Every actor was fantastic and did an amazing job! Highly recommended!! Richard Thomas was perfect as Atticus Finch!
To Kill A Mockingbird was always a favorite book and movie for me. It is a timeless story and the play written by Aaron Sorkin did a fabulous job of writing it as a play. Richard Thomas's performance as Atticus Finch was superb. I have always been a fan of his and wasn't disappointed in his portrayal of Atticus. I was also surprised and thrilled that the original Scout (Mary Badham) played the role of Mrs. Henry Dubose. What a legacy! The fact that our country is still dealing with the topic of equal rights for African Americans makes this play even more important ! Bravo to the entire production!
The performance was truly captivating, with each actor delivering their role impeccably. Moreover, the set design was outstanding, adding depth to the overall experience.
This play is as contemporary now as it was when written. The actors were very professional and adept in performing. It was very moving.
I have not read the book nor seen the movie with Gregory Peck so I went in with no preconceived notions or expectations. I had forgotten that I got front row seats. The production value was incredibly good, and I appreciated I could see the actor's facial expressions and demeanors up close. Maeve Moynihan played Scout, and she was so good in the role. Her facial expressions, mannerisms, and performance was consistent throughout and really made an indelible impression. Richard Thomas' Atticus Finch was great, and the rest of the cast was just amazing. The book was originally published in 1960, and it is scary to think that in 2024 we are still experiencing so many of these issues. I highly recommend this drama. Note: This is not a musical. It's a 2hr 35 minute drama with an approximate 15-20 minute intermission. I saw the play on Sunday, April 7th, 2024, in Knoxville, TN, at the Tennessee Theater. If you can get as close to the stage as possible, you will have the best experience possible.
One of the best performances at the Tennessee Theatre that I have seen!
Outstanding play! Was not excepting the humor which added to the show. Exceeded my expectations!
The play was excellent but the view from our seats was hard to see. They should’ve brought the props forward more on the stage so those on the outskirts in the audience could see.
The only issue I have is with the narrative of the play, which is decidedly different from the book.
To kill a Mockingbird was a wonderful show. Richard Thomas and the complete cast was great. I would see it all again and certainly recommend it to anyone to see.
I really enjoyed this new reimagining of To Kill a Mockingbird. It felt fresh and more modern. It also had a bit of humor, which was great for such a serious subject. The acting was phenomenal, especially the great Richard Thomas. I'd advise everyone to see this wonderful play. Bravo.
