About

Based on the French novel, Les Liasions Dangereuses, and the classic cult film starring Reese Witherspoon, Ryan Phillippe and Sarah Michelle Geller, Cruel Intentions: The '90s Musical pulls you into the manipulative world of Manhattan's most dangerous liaisons: Sebastian Valmont and Kathryn Merteuil. Seduced by revenge and fueled by passion, the two diabolically charming step-siblings place a bet on whether or not Sebastian can deflower their incoming headmaster's daughter, Annette Hargrove. As the two set out to destroy the innocent girl—and anyone who gets in their way—they find themselves entangled in a web of secrets, temptation, and the cruelest game of all: love.

Featuring your favorite throwback hits by artists like Boyz II Men, Christina Aguilera, REM, *NSYNC, and, of course, Britney Spears, this intoxicating new musical is "the ultimate night out" (Entertainment Weekly).

    Campy but fun

by M. on 4/16/19Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

Show is pretty straightforward. If you’ve seen the movie you’ll enjoy this show. If you haven’t I’d probably watch the movie first. The whole show is just the movie but adding in various hits from the era. Lots of boy bands and 90’s alt rock. Definitely fun to sing a long to.

The actors seemed to know the characters and play it very well. The set was nice. To be honest not a fan of the music choice and how it was incorporated.

This show has it all + GREAT MUSIC

by Rosie on 4/15/19Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

It was everything! Sexy, funny, engaging, a bit of drama great music! (not recommended for kids or young teens) but based on the movie that's a given. The leads were great, I loved the inclusion of the scenes with Blaine and Greg! The script closely follows the movie but the dance/musical scenes made it! It was FUN. I would definitely see it again! I didn't want it to end.
