About

FALSETTOS (Chicago) on Tour

William Finn and James Lapine's groundbreaking, Tony Award-winning musical FALSETTOS returned to Broadway in an all new production from Lincoln Center Theater, and was nominated for Five 2017 Tony Awards, including Best Revival of a Musical. Lapine returned to direct an extraordinary cast in a production that was seen on PBS stations nationwide.

FALSETTOS revolves around the life of a charming, intelligent, neurotic gay man named Marvin, his wife, lover, about-to-be-Bar-Mitzvahed son, their psychiatrist, and the lesbians next door. It's a hilarious and achingly poignant look at the infinite possibilities that make up a modern family... and a beautiful reminder that love can tell a million stories.

Due to adult themes, the show is most appropriate for those over the age of 12. Children under the age of 5 will not be permitted in the theatre.

    The Perfect Musical

by Sara B on 6/7/19James M. Nederlander Theatre - Chicago

“Falsettos” is easily my favorite musical of all time— it’s incredibly original and so deeply profound, unconvential in the best way. Every element of William Finn’s score is exceptional. I’ve never listened to or seen anything like it before.

Great cast with a dated production

    by L on 6/4/19James M. Nederlander Theatre - Chicago

The acting and singing was very good, however the show is very dated. It does have a point go get across which could have been portrayed in one act ( or a shorter amount of time). The play drags on....

    by H. K. on 6/4/19James M. Nederlander Theatre - Chicago

Several amazing and skillful actors and musicians come together to make one of my favorite shows. It is heartwrenching, beautiful, and definitely worth your time. The balcony has a fantastic view.

    Awful

by Douggie on 6/3/19James M. Nederlander Theatre - Chicago

The actors we're good, but the material and plot were so bad. Half the theater walked out at intermission (and many before that point). I honestly don't understand all the glowing reviews. I love the theater but we we're sorely disappointed with this show.
