Matt Rife has exploded as one of the fastest growing comedians through his viral content and remarkable engagement on TikTok, where he has amassed over 13 million followers, and more than 2 billion views globally. As one of the most buzzed about comedians in the business, Rife has been selling-out comedy clubs and theaters across the country and is gearing up to embark on his biggest tour to-date with Live Nation, the Matt Rife: ProbleMATTic World Tour, kicking off on July 20th.
Rife brings forth his refreshingly genuine presence along with elevated material that is quick witted and vulnerable. From a small town near Columbus Ohio, Matt started performing at the age of fifteen then moved out to Los Angeles two years later where he began his career in Hollywood.
In addition to stand-up, he made his television debut on MTV's Wild 'N Out as the youngest cast member in history for four seasons before moving on to other MTV properties, such as hosting the reboot of TRL and appearing on The Challenge. Other credits include Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Fresh Off The Boat, BET's North Of The 10, and NBC's comedy competition show Bring The Funny.
In 2021, Rife self-produced and distributed through YouTube his first one-hour comedy special, "Only Fans". This past April, the comedian bet on himself again and self-released his highly anticipated second stand-up special, "Matthew Steven Rife" on YouTube. The special was taped in Austin, TX and is dedicated to his biggest role model, his grandfather Steven who had recently passed. He'll be taping his third stand-up special this fall in Washington, DC.
The event was amazing. Matt Rife was super funny. I also liked the openers for him who were also funny. I would definitely go again and recommend him to anyone and everyone!!
The show lacked the comedy that we had viewed online. He jokes were not as good as he was hyped up to be. Maybe he had an "off"night. We were really disappointed.
His show was hilarious and worth the money, good time.
I’ve liked Matt in the past but he just seemed to ran out of steam at his show. He smoked weed on the stage and he just wasn’t funny anymore. He even brought on the previous comedian to help him out and it was just banter. You see all the good highlights on TikTok. Don’t spend money on a ticket.
You have be open mind to go to a show of his. Entertaining.
Had the best time at the Matt Rife show. His show openers were hilarious. The transitions between performers made for a really awesome night.
I saw Matt Rife last year at a much smaller venue before he blew up... I had expected so much more from this World Tour. His crowd work was less than expected and he seemed "off"... Maybe it was the particular night I saw him but for the cost of ticket it wasn't worth it.
So Excited!!! Laughter is the best medicine, and Matt Rife was the doctor!!! So funny!!! Amazing show!! Come back to Phoenix and do a 14 run please!!!! You will sell out and break your record for the Arizona Financial theater …We Love ❤️ You MATT!!!!
I love Matt Rife! He is absolutely amazing and funny! He never disappoints!
Matt was amazing! Great show! Not a bad seat in the place! Totally worth it!!!
Overall was a good time. I personally prefer Matt’s more offensive jokes so I got a little bored but I understand it’s based off the crowd. Sucks that the crowd wasn’t that good to not allow for the better stuff
Matt was very funny and I was laughing when I heard him over the loud old women sitting next to us. wish there was more crowd work
I highly recommend Matt Rifes show! The 2 acts before him were just as fabulous!!
It was worth the wait! I waited so long to see him and had such a good time. Only improvement would be when he comes out to a hot city like Arizona, allow the patrons to at least come inside, sit, buy some drinks because it was extremely hot outside. Or open the doors earlier to get in.
I went to a few shows and had a absolute best time. I got first row at the Tucson show and he picked on me and I loved it, I also did the VIP LETS GO meet and greet and he was just the sweetest person hugged me a bunch of times loved the gifts I gave him. I will continue to see this man perform as he makes me laugh. Thank you Matt for you comic genius!!
First time going to a stand up comedy, wasn’t sure on what to expect. Let me tell you I was laughing the entire time, he engages well with the crowd as well. Would definitely recommend going to see him for a good laugh!
We've loved Matt Rife's TV specials and following along on social media but the live show didn't have me in stitches laughing. One of the openers (Alex something, I didn't catch his last name) was hilarious and we really enjoyed his bit, the 2nd opener started off telling us how much he loved his wife then told stories about her the whole time and made her sound like an insufferable person but not in a funny way. Matt was funny but not top-notch-comedian funny - at least not the night we attended which was a bummer. We'll continue to follow him but will probably not go out of my way to attend another show unfortunately.
The stand up was mid. It was funny. The audience interaction should be his entire show. The sound SUCKED. We could barely hear the comedians.
I hate to say this, but I feel like Matt's comedy was very over-rated. His crowd work is great however his piece wasn't. I laughed wat more with his openers than him. Plus, the show overall felt super rushed. The venue also did not have any cameras on him or any speakers for the balcony area so at times it was hard to hear.
Amazing experience! Would totally recommend if you ever get to go see him! I will be looking forward for when he comes back to phoenix!
