Luke Combs is a country artist from Asheville, North Carolina. The singer-songwriter released his debut album, This One’s for You, in 2017. His sophomore studio set, What You See Is What You Get, followed in 2019, becoming his first LP to top the Billboard 200. That same year, Combs was nominated for Best New Artist at the Grammy Awards — his first of seven nominations to date. Combs’ third and fourth albums, Growin’ Up (2022) and Gettin’ Old (2023), were recorded simultaneously and serve as companion projects. For the latter, Combs included a cover of Tracy Chapman’s “Fast Car.” His countrified take on the 1988 hit single became a bonafide crossover success for the star, peaking at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and bringing about a duet with the folk singer at the 2024 Grammy Awards. In 2024, Combs will embark on his Growin’ Up and Gettin’ Old Tour in support of the dual albums.

The concert was epic in terms of crowds, but this came with its own challenges! People were coming and going throughout the multiple first acts so it was very distracting and hard to enjoy. People threw up on the bleachers next us AND behind us before the concert even started so we were trying to climb around it the whole night and not get it on our shoes and clothes. Luke was awesome, but he’s not much of a “showman”… didn’t really dance, wore the same ware done the whole time. Would have liked at least 2 hours of Luke’s actual performance since we traveled 5 hours for the concert. Lastly, after the show, it took almost 1.5 hours to even MOVE in the parking lot and we were already pretty far out and close to the road. This is more of an issue with the venue, but PennState should know how to handle those crowds! They did do a great job with the porta-potties (even inside the stadium!) That was awesome not to have to wait for the bathroom.
Beaver stadium is one of the largest stadiums in the country and can provide an atmostphere like no other. The gray skies created an incredible back drop for Luke Combs and the big guy delivered. The energy was great and Jordan Davis and Mitchell Tenpenny were great openers. More concerts like this please.
I’ve seen Luke 3x and he doesn’t disappoint. Jordan Davis 2x for me . Mitchell Tenpenny 1x
This is the second time I have seen Luke Combs live and delivers hit, after hit! He makes every show feel special in it's own unique way! Full of energy, and appreciation for his fans! I would never hesitate to buy tickets again, and again!
Concert was excellent Luke did an absolute fantastic show!!! As far as the venue it was not organized for all the 80,000 people who attended. Gates didn’t open till 5:00 show started at 5:45. Not enough time to get into the venue let alone to your seats. We didn’t get in and make it to our seats until after 7 o’clock and missed the first couple of singers. Definitely needs improvement but as far as Luke him self he was awesome!!
Fantastic concert in Beaver Stadium! The only complaint is trying to leave the parking lot afterwards….horrendous!
This is the second time seeing him in concert and he didn't disappoint! One of the best shows I've been to.
All acts were incredible, but Luke Combs was FANTASTIC!!!
Luke puts on a great concert! I would diffently go see him again!
I'd give FIVE stars for the concert because it was absolutely amazing - Luke Combs and all his openers (at least the ones we saw since we were stuck in traffic for so long) were phenomenal!!! However, I docked a star from my rating because Penn State did not plan very well for the crowd. You'd think they'd be used to it with such crowds for football games in the fall. The streets were lined with traffic with no rhyme or reason to how lights were working and/or traffic was being directed. There were signs but they were for football games and were not correct for concert traffic! You'd think they'd have the big construction signs with current info then at least, right? No. Having asked both police officers and traffic enforcement for help was deemed useless - they literally referenced a map that must not have been current because we followed their direction only to come upon the parking entrance that was blocked so we had to sit in an additional 1.5 hours of traffic just to get into our lot. The exit was even worse than the entrance-just pure chaos! The road to get into the lot we were in was blocked (not by my car) and an ambulance had to enter the lot but was not able to do so in a very timely or efficient manner. I hope whoever needed them was okay!
The show was great, the venue was awesome, the traffic control was terrible. We got to the area 2 hours before show time, we had purchased expensive prepaid parking passes, the last 2.5 miles took us 3 hours to complete, we missed one opener completely. I really hope they continue to have concerts, but I can not imagine how they handle traffic for 110,000 fans for a football game when they could not in any way handle 80000 for this show
I took my little brother for his first concert ever and it was a blast. Our seats were far away but everyone in the crowd was involved. Would definitely see 10 times again.
Simply fantastic- Awesome- being @ PSU Beaver Stadium venue at night was amazing- all the other bands were great
Great seats with a good view. One of the best country concerts I’ve been to. Loved Luke Combs and his openers. Would definitely attend another concert at Beaver Stadium (would have been better in the summer and no rain). It did rain before the concert so the seats were wet and would’ve been nice to have them dried or the water blown off as they do in other stadiums.
The Luke Combs concert at Penn State University was a great show and well worth the money. The parking rates were a little over board but that has nothing to do with him. He seemed to be a very down to earth individual. He talked about a female, at the concert, that had beat cancer and raised $100,000 selling lemonade, while beating cancer, for cancer research. Luke announced that he was going to match that money and told her that she actually raised $200,000 for her cancer research. To me that was a very classy move and I was really impressed by that since cancer took my mother at a very young age. Thank you Luke for what you do.
My first ever country concert and it was amazing. I love Luke’s music and enjoyed it immensely in person ❤️
The concert was amazing, Luke Combs and all the artists are great performers! Seating was a little tight and over packed but we made do and still enjoyed the show!
Omg, great concert by Tenpenny, Davis and Luke Combs. 80,000 people what a night even if the weather was cold and wet. LUKE IS A MUST SEE.
Luke Combs was as great as I anticipated. He sounded just like he does on the radio. The opening singers were amazing as well
