    What a Powerful Performance

by Anonymous on 1/30/18Amaturo Theater at Broward Center - Ft Lauderdale

We saw Bridges of Madison County last Saturday evening. The Broward Center for the Performing Arts is a beautiful, elegant place and its location cannot be beat! We were in awe at the beauty of the performance and how well all of the performers played their roles--their feelings came through to the audience and we could imagine ourselves being there, in that time and place. The story is about 2 people coming from totally different places and circumstances, but who shared a deep emptiness in their lives that drew them together through a chance encounter that ultimately changed their lives forever. The higher "lesson" we drew from it is how one brief moment in time--in any of our lives--can alter the course of our lives, totally unexpectedly! Beautiful story!

    Surprisingly great !

by OneofSeven111 on 1/24/18Amaturo Theater at Broward Center - Ft Lauderdale

I was very skeptical when I discovered that this was a musical. Actually, they did a great job and it was better than the movie. The talent of the 2 main stars was wonderful. My only complaint was the length of the show...2 hours.... it seemed longer than the movie.

    Best theater company in Florida

Incredible, professional production in a smaller theater. So much better than the huge touring shows.

Bridges of Madison County was pretty good.

by rose890 on 1/23/18Amaturo Theater at Broward Center - Ft Lauderdale

After reading the book and seeing the movie, I wasn't sure how they could adapt Bridges of Madison County into a stage play, but they did so quite well. Singing was amazing, cast worked well together and scenes were believable. It's a great show. The only negative is that it is a long play with about 1 hour and 15 minutes each act. They could have cut out some of the scenes with Francesca's kids and the neighbors and made it 30 minutes shorter. Also, the older Francesca needed to have gray hair or appropriate make up as the same actress played her but did not look older at all. Robert Kincaid as an older guy was played by the same actor but they made him look older. We were sitting in the second row so it was obvious to us and perhaps this won't be to other patrons seated farther away. Overall, worth the money and a great date night.

    Bridges of Madison County

by Frank2925 on 1/21/18Amaturo Theater at Broward Center - Ft Lauderdale

This was the most enjoyable evening for my wife and me, we had seen the movie many years ago. The main actors in this play were just perfect, the singing was excellent, the sets were beautiful. We love coming to the Amaturo Theater, it's quite cozy and very friendly staff.

    A Sexy Surprise

by StarGazer10 on 1/21/18Amaturo Theater at Broward Center - Ft Lauderdale

I didn't know the story and it apparently is known and I'm glad I saw it. It was great! This production has great actors, orchestra and singing and sets to bring the tender story to life. I enjoyed it. It's another winner. I saw seats weren't filled and they should be. It was beautifully & tastefully done. The people around me said it's better than the movie. Well, duh?!
