About

Tig (affectionately named by her brother as a child) was born in Jackson, Mississippi and raised by her single mother. While serving time in a Texas high school, Tig failed three grades by entertaining classmates rather than entertaining the notion of a successful academic career. After dropping out of school, and a brief stint in the music industry while in Denver, she decided to lodge herself firmly into the always fun and always easy world of comedy. Most recently, Tig booked a supporting role in the feature THE RUNAWAYS opposite Kristen Stewart, which is out in theatres now. This will be her third season recurring as "Officer Tig" on THE SARAH SILVERMAN PROGRAM on Comedy Central and was a series regular on ABC'S IN THE MOTHERHOOD opposite Megan Mullally and Cheryl Hines. In previous years, she has had her own half-hour comedy special, COMEDY CENTRAL PRESENTS TIG and recurred on Comedy Central's critically acclaimed show DOG BITES MAN. She has also performed on ABC'S JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE, NBC's LAST CALL WITH CARSON DALY and performed on SHOWTIME's new comedy series LIVE NUDE COMEDY which aired on Showtime last summer. Tig performs regularly at the Hollywood Improv, The UCB Theater and at Largo in her monthly show, "Tig Notaro and Friends"...and of course, headlining clubs, colleges, theaters and living rooms across the universe.

Great performance, facility could be better

by Eddie on 7/27/22Humphreys Concerts By the Bay - San Diego

Tig was great. Unfortunately, conversations in the bar were loud enough to disrupt the show. Also, a month before the show I was only able to purchase tickets in the back of the venue and I saw empty seats closer to the stage. Overall, the audio was adequate, not great.

Tig was funny, but there was Zero “wow” factor.

by Carrie on 7/27/22Humphreys Concerts By the Bay - San Diego

When we pay a good amount of money to see a celebrity comedian, I’d expect the show to come with a point, or something powerful. Tig’s show was no better than a $10 local comedian coffee shop performance.

Tig at Humphrys by the Bay

by Mike on 7/26/22Humphreys Concerts By the Bay - San Diego

First time seeing Tig and first time to see a show at Humphreys by the Bay in San Diego. This is a very small venue so any seat you get will be a good one. We ended up sitting on the wall close to the stage by the “boat people” (as Tig called them) even though our seats were in row 23. I have to say I was a bit disappointed with the show overall. It only lasted a little more than an hour. The first half was full of funny observations about things that have happened to Tig over the years. The second half she talked about how she can’t sing or play piano and proceeded to prove it for the next half hour as she sat behind a keyboard and randomly hit keys and made several poor jokes. It was funny at first but after 10 minutes or so it got old. I’ve Tig on several TV specials and really enjoyed her “One Mississippi” show, but I guess I just expected more from her stand up show.

    Laughing out loud

by Queen on 7/26/22Humphreys Concerts By the Bay - San Diego

Tig had the audience laughing from the start. Always funny to hear her humorous way of seeing everyday situations. The end of the gig was a little slow.

    I love Tig but...

by Aim032002 on 7/26/22Humphreys Concerts By the Bay - San Diego

I really love Tig Notorro and she was so hilarious in her show. I was just disappointed by the fact that the show was only 1 hr and 20 minutes. We drove about 45 minutes and booked a night in a hotel at the venue as we figured we'd be getting out no earlier than 10:00 p.m.. It ended up that the show was over by 9:20. It just felt like a lot of planning for a show that was just over an hour.

One of the best standup comedian

by HVC_738 on 6/7/22The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

I was already fan of hers so it was no surprise that the show was fantasticly funny. Non stop we were having laughs, the opening comedian was so hilarious as well. Really enjoyed the show.

    Fan of Tig!

by A_Fan on 6/6/22Algonquin Commons Theatre - Ottawa

I have heard of Tig’s enjoyment of stretching out a bit and she didn’t disappoint! I was simply delighted she included Ottawa in her tour. I have heard her say repeatedly on her podcast to check her tour dates since they add more as they go. Finally an ad in FB that was actually useful haha. The ticket prices were inexpensive, a very big bargain, for such a wonderful established comedian.

    Amazingly refreshing

by Kelsey on 5/22/22The Lyric Theatre - Birmingham

Did not stop smiling from the minute Tig’s voice came over the speakers to the minute she walked off stage. This was the first time my face had hurt from smiling in years. Tig’s comedy is a delightful gift and deeply comforting.

    The Lyric Theatre in Alabama

by Mudturtle5 on 5/22/22The Lyric Theatre - Birmingham

The whole experience was wonderful! Purchasing my ticket on ticketmaster was easy and the seating chart shown was accurate. The intimacy of the venue ensures that there are no bad seats. Tig Notaro is an amazingly funny person and I enjoyed the show tremendously.

    Terrific performance!

by Lynn on 3/28/22Beacon Theatre - New York

Tig is a consistently unique and talented comedian and storyteller. Her sometimes self-effacing humor along with her boldly honest and creative delivery make her a gem and performer not to be missed. I was laughing the whole evening.

by Nat on 3/23/22Beacon Theatre - New York

She and her comedy are exactly what the world needs right now. Her chill, relaxed style and hilarious comedy/stories/improv were a perfect distraction for the times. She had everyone in absolute stitches. She's amazing! If you haven't seen her live, GO!

    Scooch along the wall…

by Lensleh on 3/23/22Beacon Theatre - New York

Super mellow…almost too mellow? Each bit was dragged out to fill the time. We can’t and shouldn’t complain. For this generous a donation to Ukraine Tig deserves a night off. We all donated a little I guess. Wondering if all the shows are like this though…just a few bits…lots of repetition…so confidently delivered wrrrd

    Slow moving

by NYC lover on 3/23/22Beacon Theatre - New York

Tig was charming and warm, but the bits were slow and the last half of the show consisted of her sitting at the piano messing around which is not fun or funny to watch. Felt like she ran out of material. Also, the show started before we even got inside because of checking vax cards and IDs. That shouldn't happen Beacon Theater!

    Tig is the best !

by MGG on 3/23/22Beacon Theatre - New York

We laughed so much we love Tig.. Wish that the Beacon Theater had either set up an easier way to get in to the show (super long lines with several check points) OR had held off starting the show a bit as we missed the beginning even though we were on time, as it took so long to get inside

    Original

by MY on 3/23/22Beacon Theatre - New York

It was original and creative. Not your typical joke telling routine. I only wish it lasted longer. We felt that the show was a little too short.
