Arizona Cardinals Team History

Founded in 1898 in Chicago as the Morgan Athletic Club, the Arizona Cardinals is the oldest professional football club in the NFL. The team joined the NFL as a charter team in 1920 and became the Chicago Cardinals in 1922. Some of the most iconic players in NFL history have worn the Cardinals uniform, including Pro Football Hall of Famers safety Larry Wilson, defensive back Dick "Night Train" Lane, cornerback Roger Wehrli, tackle Dan Dierdorf, cornerback Aeneas Williams, and quarterback Kurt Warner. State Farm Stadium has also given Arizona one of the NFL's most distinct home field advantages. Since beginning play at the venue in 2006, the Cardinals have earned three division titles, two NFC Championship Game appearances and their first-ever Super Bowl appearance.

In 2014, the Cardinals finished the season 11-5, marking the most regular-season wins for the franchise since 1975. The following year, they set another record for number of wins in a season since moving to Arizona, winning 13 games. That same year, the team clinched their first NFC West title since 2009.

    first time

by cards09 on 9/14/09UNIVERSITY OF PHOENIX STADIUM - Glendale

It was my very first NFL game. My sister & I had a great time at the game. The crowd, the energy, the stadium, the staff.....all of it was a great experience. I think next time we'll try to get there even earlier to do some tailgating. That looks like a lot of fun.

    49ners kicked some BUTT!!!1

by Pinny5285 on 9/14/09UNIVERSITY OF PHOENIX STADIUM - Glendale

The only thing i would include or offer when buying tickets to the NFL game is to offer a parking pass or something. We had to park and WALK from some highschool all the way to the game we were looking at about a mile in 109 degree weather.

Great game. Sat in the nose bleed section, but the excitement was all worth it. Will try to get better seats next time.

The first is always the best

by savage43 on 9/14/09UNIVERSITY OF PHOENIX STADIUM - Glendale

This event was great. I had the benefit of sitting in comfortable seats at the 30 yard line. The event staff was helpful. The overall atmosphere in the stadium was great and being in a closed stadium versus an open one was very enjoyable.

    9ers at Cards

by SCRick on 9/14/09UNIVERSITY OF PHOENIX STADIUM - Glendale

My first away game, I really enjoyed the city and the stadium; this stadium was done right. No hostile environment for visiting fans, of couse the fact that the 9ers won made it all the more outstanding.

The NFL Game Experience is awesome!

by Trunkcito on 9/14/09UNIVERSITY OF PHOENIX STADIUM - Glendale

The University of Phoenix stadium is a state of the art sports facility that shines for itself. The parking is free and the entry line to the stadium goes fast and problem less. Getting to the seats is very easy and the respect for each individual favorite team is superb. Lost of 49ers fans (including myself) were at the game cheering for the 49ers without any problem. Everything was on a respectful ambiance.

    I love the card's

by velie on 9/14/09UNIVERSITY OF PHOENIX STADIUM - Glendale

It was a really exciting game from the beginning, maybe a little slow on the first half, but certainly, the second half was a thriller. The only thing a didn't like is that the cardinals lost the game on the last minutes of game play.

    Cards v. Pack

by hounddog124 on 9/9/09UNIVERSITY OF PHOENIX STADIUM - Glendale

An excellent game. Incredible accomodations. The only negative is there was no signage pointing to the escalators to the upper levels. As a first time visitor, I had trouble locating them.

    CARDS VS. PACKERS

by GUNNYHARTMAN on 8/29/09UNIVERSITY OF PHOENIX STADIUM - Glendale

U of P Stadium is the best indoor venue for football bar none.

    Game great, venue needs work.

by BrianHTucson on 8/29/09UNIVERSITY OF PHOENIX STADIUM - Glendale

The game was great and the Packers won, what more can you ask for? As for the stadium, it was my first time there and I was surprised at how poor the directional signage was for foot traffic to entrances, and to escalators and sections once inside. This can all be easily corrected. Also choice of food and beverages was dismal. Cardinal' s management, check out the choices at the next Diamondabacks game at Chase Field and take a cue...

    Go Packers!

by mgcleveland on 8/29/09UNIVERSITY OF PHOENIX STADIUM - Glendale

Great stadium and not a bad seat in the house. Concession prices were also reasonable, considering it was an NFL game.
