An Over-Produced-Yet-Flawed Production
by Nostromo on 8/2/10Bank of America Pavilion - BostonRating: 4 out of 5There is no doubt about it, Arcade Fire is an amazingly talented band and they put on one hell of an impressive live show. However, maybe I'm getting old (if you can call late-twenties old) but the light show was just a little too intense for my eyes to take. That aside, the real issue with this show was the truly bad sound quality. It was loud to the point of unnecessary distortion and can best be described as muddy. Having been to concerts three nights in a row at the Bank of America Pavilion, I can't blame the venue, as the previous nights shows had far better sound. The bottom line here, I do NOT regret going in fact I had a great time, which is why I still recommend it. But the sound quality was a definite disappointment for myself and most of the people around me. For a tour with such over-the-top and expensive production, for the fundamental component of a concert--the music--to seemingly get the least attention is simply inexcusable.
