ARCADE FIRE IN CONCERT:

Arcade Fire are the undisputed poster band of indie rock's ascendancy in the musical mainstream,  proving with each successive album that it's possible to be both a critical darling and a populist favorite. For 2013's Reflektor, the band teamed up with James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem  to record their most ambitious collection of songs yet, topping charts — and critics' best-of lists — around the world. As revered for their frenzied live shows as they are for their records, the band has fans eagerly awaiting the 2014 Reflektor Tour, which includes headlining slots at Coachella and Glastonbury.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

" Had heard so much about how electrifying their live performances were. It wasn't hype. This band puts it all out on the stage. I'll see them again...and again...and again!”

" A huge fan of Arcade Fire and they did not disappoint. Absolutely love their presence. The show was unbelievable."

" The show was amazingly energetic! It was without a doubt one of the best shows I've ever seen."

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

When Arcade Fire released their debut full-length Funeral in 2004, critics hailed it as an instant classic, heaping big praise — and even bigger expectations — on the Canadian art rockers. The band delivered on the hype, topping charts around the world in 2007 with Neon Bible and again in 2010 with Suburbs, dark horse winner of Album of the Year at the 2011 Grammy Awards. In 2013 the band released Reflektor to yet another No. 1 spot on the BIllboard 200, also making time amid their busy touring schedule to provide the score for Spike Jonze's film Her.

  • An Over-Produced-Yet-Flawed Production

by Nostromo on 8/2/10Bank of America Pavilion - BostonRating: 4 out of 5

There is no doubt about it, Arcade Fire is an amazingly talented band and they put on one hell of an impressive live show. However, maybe I'm getting old (if you can call late-twenties old) but the light show was just a little too intense for my eyes to take. That aside, the real issue with this show was the truly bad sound quality. It was loud to the point of unnecessary distortion and can best be described as muddy. Having been to concerts three nights in a row at the Bank of America Pavilion, I can't blame the venue, as the previous nights shows had far better sound. The bottom line here, I do NOT regret going in fact I had a great time, which is why I still recommend it. But the sound quality was a definite disappointment for myself and most of the people around me. For a tour with such over-the-top and expensive production, for the fundamental component of a concert--the music--to seemingly get the least attention is simply inexcusable.

The Arcade Fire put on an incredible show playing all the songs i wanted to hear! They featured many songs from the new album, which all made me very excited to hear their latest work.

Arcade Fire always puts on an incredible show. Will not disappoint!

  • Arcade Fire was great .... venue not so much.

by betterdays on 8/2/10Bank of America Pavilion - BostonRating: 4 out of 5

The show started at an intense level .... and stayed that way throughout. The crowd was on its feet the entire time. All the old must play songs were performed (Wake Up, Rebellion, Neighborhood #1, Intervention, etc ). A lot of new songs of course were played, I had pre-ordered the vinyl and it was delivered a couple of days prior to the general release so I had some knowledge of the new stuff which is very good. They played "Sprawl II" which will be huge. Overall it is an amazing band to watch. Venue .... like I said the crowd was on its feet the entire time. Tough to see the stage if you weren't at least 5'8'' (I was closer to the front than the back). There was a screen that was occasionally showing the band but more often was showing images that related to the song. I could see OK but others in our group not so much. I will think twice before seeing and event there again.

Amazing show! Loved the production, the sound and the performance!!

  • by trm9 on 8/2/10Bank of America Pavilion - BostonRating: 3 out of 5

The sound was muddled throughout the show although it seemed a little better toward the end. The first act sound was simply terrible as well as the tunes played beforehand. Unlistenable. Arcade Fire performed well and visually it was very good, but the sound overshadowed everything.

  • Arcade Fire was amazing beyond belief

It was great listening to the new songs..but was thrilled when they played the older songs so we could sing along

  • Amazing!

by hm20 on 8/2/10Bank of America Pavilion - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Ok, I am a big fan of arcade fire, so i might be biased. But I can say that hey have a great energy live, it is incredibly how every song breaths and gets a new meaning when played live. Highly recommend for anyone who likes good music!

I my opinion one of the best live acts ever! Great show and very moving atmosphere. Definitely a must see! The location was great too, although a little expensive.

  • most amazing show if my life!!

by Vanes223 on 8/2/10Bank of America Pavilion - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

i have been an arcade fire fan since i heard 'rebellion' on the radio years ago when 'funeral' was released. i ran right out & bought the album & listened to it constantly until their amazing follow up 'neon bible' came out & my world was rocked again. to see them right before the release of 'the suburbs' was incredible! they played an amazing selection of new & old songs that rocked the crowd. it was my first time seeing the band that i have loved for the last 6 years & will continue to listen to for the rest of my life. it is amazing to see the entire band play nearly every instrument on the stage & it is visible to the audience that they are having an amazing time. this show was incredible & i wish i could go again tonight! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

  • Arcade Fire were on Fire!

by Leung on 8/2/10Bank of America Pavilion - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Great show and at the perfect venue. The Arcade Fire show last night was amazing. The opening band wasn't the best and while they played some members of AF sat 5 rows behind us to watch which totally made up for it. Régine and Win's voice were amazing and the rest of the band sounded their best. They played a lot of new songs and mixed in some classics. I would definitely see them again!

  • Thank you Arcade Fire!

by Shayleen on 8/2/10Bank of America Pavilion - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Arcade Fire couldn't be a more spectacular live band. The venue has it's problems. The staff couldn't be nicer, but it's hard to forget about how corporate the place is when you're throwing down 12-14$ a drink. In contrast to the Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom this Friday the B.O.A. Pavillion is 2 stars compared to their 5.

  • wish I could hear the violins

Great, awesome show, But the violins were lost in the mix.

  • Arcade Fire

by trm9 on 8/2/10Bank of America Pavilion - BostonRating: 2 out of 5

This was my first time to the BAP and I was very disappointed in the sound system. The first band came on and the music sounded garbled. Then the interim music played and you could barely hear it and it also sounded garbled. I kept saying to my husband that I hope when A.F. comes on that the sound gets better, but initially it was the same. I could have left after the first two songs...We stuck it out and the sound was marginally better, but I would have to know for sure from someone I trusted that the sound was better before I ever considered buying tickets there again. This show was very forgettable.....

  • Like We Were in the Arcade Fire Revival Tent

Great anthemic music filled with brooding thoughts and joyous energy. I really liked the new songs and the videography. Terrific show.

  • Way to go Arcade Fire!

by simplybrianne on 8/2/10Bank of America Pavilion - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Great mix of old stuff you could sing and dance to, and new stuff that gave you an excuse to stop and listen to what they were saying. Awesome stage set and great vibe. Overall magnificent show and I would see them again in a second
