About

ARCADE FIRE IN CONCERT:

Arcade Fire are the undisputed poster band of indie rock's ascendancy in the musical mainstream,  proving with each successive album that it's possible to be both a critical darling and a populist favorite. For 2013's Reflektor, the band teamed up with James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem  to record their most ambitious collection of songs yet, topping charts — and critics' best-of lists — around the world. As revered for their frenzied live shows as they are for their records, the band has fans eagerly awaiting the 2014 Reflektor Tour, which includes headlining slots at Coachella and Glastonbury.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

" Had heard so much about how electrifying their live performances were. It wasn't hype. This band puts it all out on the stage. I'll see them again...and again...and again!”

" A huge fan of Arcade Fire and they did not disappoint. Absolutely love their presence. The show was unbelievable."

" The show was amazingly energetic! It was without a doubt one of the best shows I've ever seen."

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

When Arcade Fire released their debut full-length Funeral in 2004, critics hailed it as an instant classic, heaping big praise — and even bigger expectations — on the Canadian art rockers. The band delivered on the hype, topping charts around the world in 2007 with Neon Bible and again in 2010 with Suburbs, dark horse winner of Album of the Year at the 2011 Grammy Awards. In 2013 the band released Reflektor to yet another No. 1 spot on the BIllboard 200, also making time amid their busy touring schedule to provide the score for Spike Jonze's film Her.

A great night for an open air concert, it was the coolest night in well over a month. After a late arrival, missing the opening act-Young Galaxy-, we took our seats in time for Arcade Fire to start their set. The first half of the concert was a majority of their new album, of which I only had heard one song "Suburbs" which they played, and also mixed in a few songs from Neon Bible (No cars go, intervention) and one from Funeral (Neighborhood #2). After a few more new songs (including a great song by Regine called Sprawl II), Win thanked us "For listening to songs you dont know yet", then launched into a rollicking string of their most well known songs...Neighborhood #3 (power Out), Rebellion (lies), Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels) to finishing with an encore of Keep the car running and Wake Up. Overall the energy of the band was great, they sounded quite sharp and were very business-like in their delivery. I had a great time and hope they come back through Boston this fall.

This show was amazing. Spoon played their hearts out and it is a shame more people weren't at the venue yet to see their set. Arcade Fire put on a fantastic show playing a lot of older material as well as a nice mix of their new stuff.

  • Best LIve Show Ever

by downsp on 8/3/10The Mann Center - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5

This was definitely the best show i've ever seen live. The music was perfect, but more than that, they really got the stadium going. I'm pretty sure that during wake up every single person in the audience was singing along- I know I was. The fact that *Spoon* opened for them should be an indication of how great they were. Spoon! *OPENED* for this band.

  • Show a smashing success.

Saw the Arcade Fire Concert last night- as always they put on such an enthusiastic, foot-tapping, knee-slapping, crowd-swaying, energetic performance! Great mix of old hits and new songs from their just-released album. They still look like they're having fun performing, which is such a pleasure to watch. Have to say- I was duly impressed by the Mann Center. Had cheap, $30.00 tickets where we sat out on the lawn with a picnic blanket. Great view, fabulous weather, couldn't believe it was more magical sitting inside the theater. Everything about the venue went smoothly- great, reasonably priced refreshments, easy-in, easy-out, cheap direct bus from Philly center out there! All in all, an utterly pleasant experience. Job well done on all accounts!

Arcade Fire was amplified by the awesome sound @ the Mann. No joke, show of the year so far.

  • Awesome show

by jcyee on 8/3/10Bank of America Pavilion - BostonRating: 4 out of 5

Great show. Half of the setlist covers the crowd pleasers from Funeral and Neon Bible. The other half was from their new album. The crowd responded much more to their past material (which were all fist-pumping, anthemic songs). It's going to take awhile before we can get into the new material (which sounded good but different) One annoying thing: the awful sound system in Bank of America pavillion, i was sitting in one of the front rows of section 5. The music is still loud, but you can't distinguish the guitars from the bass, or strings and the vocals were somehow garbled and muted. SHould've done a better job with the sound check.

Great show with very effective mix of old and new songs. Loved the energy of the band and the crowd's response to it.

  • Arcade Fire Lit Mine

by BostonTW on 8/2/10Bank of America Pavilion - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

I had never listened to or seen Arcade Fire until I heard the song "Intervention" a couple of months ago, prompting me to purchase Neon Bible, which I enjoyed immensely. I honestly did not expect that I would enjoy the concert as much as I did and was extremely impressed by the depth and quality of the lyrics, sound, and overall flow of music. A great venue and weather also helped to make the Arcade Fire concert the highlight of my summer of 2010.

Fantastic. A club setting would've been better but nonetheless.

  • Speechless

by Jmart139 on 8/2/10Bank of America Pavilion - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

I've seen hundreds of performances and I'm pretty sure this was my favorite concert to date. Bordering on religious experience.

  • Passionate, Stirring Performace; lackluster sound.

by anicknameofsorts on 8/2/10Bank of America Pavilion - BostonRating: 4 out of 5

Performances from all the band members were inspiring; at once joyful and cathartic, intensely powerful and delicate. The sheer energy and emotion radiating off the stage was tangible and affecting. Alas, the live sound was shrill and poorly mixed; not once but twice did a microphone feedback. The Arcade Fire carried the day, and the lighting design was superb—but the unacceptable sound production nearly sunk things.

  • The next ones?

by Schoolyard on 8/2/10Bank of America Pavilion - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

This is a band that is on it's way to superstardom. The show last night was tremendous, old songs and new . The new album comes out tuesday and will be in my CD player by noon.
