    They Still Have It

by akaTom on 10/3/19Genesee Theatre - Waukegan

April Wine still has it. Credit the two essential guitar players who've been with April Wine for decades. They still sound great. Then add a first rate drummer and an incredible bassist who are new. Bass solos are uncommon. This bass solo was worth it. Drum solos are common. This drum solo was incredible. My brother, a drummer, commented that he'd never seen a stick-less solo after the regular solo. Excellent. Incredible venue. The sound was good and the fully restored facility was simply beautiful. The show was worthy of a sell-out. Sadly there were a lot of empty seats. Too bad. This band and this venue were a perfect combination on Saturday night.

    Fantastic Beyond Belief!!!!!

by Lynn on 10/1/19Genesee Theatre - Waukegan

As a huge April Wine, fan this show did not disappoint! Prior to the show starting, I saw the setlist taped to the floor and knew I was in for a great evening! After having reviewed their recent setlists, I saw that they changed things up. Myles Goodwyn mentioned that they do different songs for the US shows versus Canadian shows. He mentioned that the Canadian shows here are some of the earlier tunes versus the US. Started out the evening with one of my favorites..."Anything You Want, You Got It"! From there the night was pure magic. Everybody sounded great. In fact, I enjoyed the show so much, I have purchased tickets for the October 11th show in London, Ontario, Canada! Presuming they will have a different set list, but also including the huge hits!

Two awesome bands in a nice theater!

by CJ on 10/1/19Genesee Theatre - Waukegan

This is my first time seeing Asia and second time seeing April Wine and I enjoyed seeing both bands of course! But I would have liked to see more people standing at these rock concerts instead of sitting. I sat for most of the time because everybody was and I didn't want to be rude blocking people's view. I would have liked the theater to use less audience light to make the stage lights more prominent. Parking was easy to find but I still had to pay $10 in the nearby garage. Other than that it was still good!

    Excellent sound

    by Wags64 on 10/1/19Genesee Theatre - Waukegan

Amazing how much they sounded like in 1982. Band played all their US hits. Miles and Mike took a few breaks while the bass and drummer did solos, but their guitar playing and vocals were strong. Would go again!!!!

April Wine still bringing it after 50 years.

by Snow Dog on 10/1/19Genesee Theatre - Waukegan

The opener, "Asia" wasn't Asia. Not a single original member. It never felt like I was watching Asia. The guys on stage did a good job of playing their songs, but it felt like I was watching a cover band. April Wine rocked Myles and Brian were still killing it. Great setlist of rockers & ballads with a few solos thrown in to let the "new guys" stretch their chops. If I could change one thing, it would be to cut down on Myles' "story time". They could have squeezed in a few more tunes. Overall a great show. I already bought my tix for their show in May 2020.

Meet n greet w April Wine

by Buster on 10/1/19Genesee Theatre - Waukegan

Very gracious, no pretensions, posed for personal pics, n signed autographs with no hesitations. Venue people were also very accommodating. Concert itself was held in a beautiful theatre, n the band was great.

Great Venue, Less talking, More music!

by LarryInSoCal on 4/10/18Orleans Showroom - Las Vegas

Great show I have seen AW many times. The Drum mix was awesome, I love Loud music but the mix was a little off between Drums Guitars and Vocals. The Harmonica was also lost in the mix, but I loved the show and the crowd response was very good. One note: Its nice to have a little talking about a particular song but when it is between "Every" song & goes on & on it looses its effectiveness & continually disrupts the groove. Less talking, more music for me!! Not once did they end a song & go right into the next. Rock on Brian, Nip, Richard, & Myles!!

    Soundman

by bones1025 on 4/10/18Orleans Showroom - Las Vegas

Honestly the guys can still rock hard it would’ve been a great show if the soundman would have balanced out instruments everybody was overpowering each other you were so loud you cannot hear singer you could barely tell what song he was playing it was so distorted it was uncomfortable to your ears I was really looking forward to the show they need to replace whoever was controlling the music In the back

    Apeil Wine Rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

by Stealthman1 on 4/10/18Orleans Showroom - Las Vegas

This show was amazing! They kicked off their new tour, and they sounded fantastic! They rolled thru all their hits, and stoped to tell stories about their 49 years of touring. They also explained how they started. The show was pure pleasure, and I look forward to seeing them again!!!!

Still rocking after all these years

by ScottsdaleRocknRoll on 4/10/18Orleans Showroom - Las Vegas

April Wine likes to rock. Myles Goodwin still sounds great, and the band is very tight. I do wish they would play their earlier material, though (Drop Your Guns, Oowatanite, Could Have been a Lady, etc.), and also they do no represent their ballads very well, and there are so many good ones! Still, they put on a great show, good interaction with the crowd, and stories. Bring ear plugs, as it was extremely loud..

    Not their best show

by TB1227rider on 4/10/18Orleans Showroom - Las Vegas

I saw April Wine in 2017 at the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas. They were outstanding! Decided to see them again at the Orleans in Las Vegas on April 7, 2018. Not sure why but the band just did not have the same edge as they had last year. Maybe it was the acoustics at the venue. IDK. I’ll always love April Wine but this was not their best show.
