    FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION

by FlyAirCoco on 12/28/12Tacoma Dome - Tacoma

If you have ever looked at the stars and wondered what it would be like up there, here is your chance to visit that adventure. Apollo 13 Mission Control is one of the finest live interactive shows that has hit our country in a long time. Kip and Brad created an environment where everyone can be a part no matter what age. If you have seen the movie or remember the reality of April 1970, you will relive it here. The actors who play Gene Kranz and Ken Mattingly are believable as two sides of the same coin but the conflict climaxes at the most important moment. Sam Berkley (as Fred Haise) and Ben Van Lier (as Jim Lovell) create a great tension in the capsule with a last minute replacement for a sick Ken Mattingley. As two skilled performers, they make the image realistic and help the audience in Mission Control feel their anxiety. In Tacoma for an other day or two and then off to Spokane and the Winston-Salem, NC, this show is a must see and more to the point a must live. The tickets may be pricey but the time is worth every penny no matter the age of the audience member. Don't Miss this stunningly staged event.

I was an astronaut for a day!

by GreyTeaCup on 12/27/12Tacoma Dome - Tacoma

The Apollo 13 show was entertaining to say the least. It was my friends birthday, and we weren't really sure what to expect. Everything was time period and it all made my geek heart happy. At the beginning, they asked for volunteers and I raised my hand not thinking I would get picked. But I did, and it was hilarious, the actors stayed in character the whole time and I had a blast. That being said, I'm not sure what it was like from the other point of view. My friends said it wouldn't have been as fun if I wasn't in it. I got tickets through a promotion at work, but don't think I would have paid the normal price. Maybe if the show picks up, the sets would be remade and it wold be worth the full ticket price. It was fun though.

    Apollo 13 - Mission Control

by SpaceGuy on 12/26/12Tacoma Dome - Tacoma

If you are looking for a fun and geek type adventure this is your ticket. I am 57 years old and unlike most of the people at our show I actually remember the event. What was great for me is how they kept it light and involved everyone including the kids. Being at the consoles made the experience much more exciting and fun as the mission control set was close enough to make it seem real. This is a fun experience if you keep your mind open, if you are looking for an experience full of tense drama this is probably not for you as this is about learning and fun. Pay extra for the console area, trust me it is worth the little extra.

    It was a blast! (off)

by SkilletandBloom on 12/25/12Tacoma Dome - Tacoma

This was a great immersive experience! They really made it feel like we were part of the crew. We came as a couple and got split up since one of us was hired to be the astronaut on board the space ship. Each of us had a wonderful time problem solving and reenacting this historic trip!

Idea is good but not everything worked

    by Highway56 on 12/25/12Tacoma Dome - Tacoma

Overall the show was good, but the consoles we sat at were pretty much non functional. My son was really sad because nothing seemed to do anything and we were barely called upon to do anything and he really wanted to help with the mission. It was a little heart breaking for me. If we had been lucky enough to sit at different consoles we would have probably had a different experience. I'm feel like for the price it should not have mattered where we sat. Aside form that I think the show was great. All of the actors were great! I'd recommend going to the show. Just sit close to the front.

    Very Interactive

by Engineera on 12/25/12Tacoma Dome - Tacoma

They weren't kidding when they said you would be part of the show. Lots of laughs and audience participation. Incredible American accents by the kiwis. Walter Cronkite was the best!

This show is not to be missed!!!

by Woodands on 12/8/12Tacoma Dome Exhibition Hall - Tacoma

We took our 2 young boys for our sons birthday and Apollo 13 is incredible. It's a wonderful experience for family and so so much fun for kids and adults alike. My husband is a massive space geek so he was in heaven. It's great for kids to learn about this important moment of American history all while getting to play the best game of make believe yet! Make sure you book a console seat! It's worth every penny!!

An amazing point in American and world history

by Anonymous on 12/6/12Tacoma Dome - Tacoma

I haven't actually been to the event but do plan on going. It was just such an important and amazing time for space exploration not only for the U.S.A. but for the rest of the world as well due to all that humankind was accomplishing. This particular chapter was, however especially epic for the United States in that everyone pulled together and effected an amazing rescue mission, one that by all accounts should have, and very nearly did, fail.
