My wife and I saw Anthony Jeselnik at the Beacon theater last night. We had seen him twice before, but when I initially looked at the ticket prices, I didn’t think it was worth it. My wife bought tickets for me as a present in the last row of the lodge, as it really doesn’t matter for a comedy show. That being said, we were also disappointed with his short show. Forty five minutes, with an additional half hour for an opening act? The show was funny, but apparently he doesn’t care about his fans. Right back at you Anthony.

  • sad to report....

I love Anthony Jeselnik but this show fell short of what I had expected. I've followed him for years and years and was so excited that he was back on tour.......... The show started at 7:00, the starting comedian was on from 7-745 (she was great). Then Anthony came on and was on stage for ONLY 45 MINUTES. The entire audience was in shock that the show was over. I've seen so many comedians and have never felt this way. So very disappointed. He is so funny but everyone should know this before they pay $$ and head to his show.

  • Good not Great

by TP on 3/19/24The Andrew J Brady Music Center - CincinnatiRating: 3 out of 5

Anthony was great, but the venue left a little to be desired. We had floor seats in the back, which I think we're more expensive than the balcony but certainly should not have been. The left or right side of the floor seats was certainly confusing and definitely caused an issue with our group and other groups in front of us, which was a unnecessary distraction...that almost led to a real confrontation. The drink lines were long, but moved relatively quick. I'd go back to this venue, but will go to the balcony.

  • As expected!

The show was great as expected. Being familiar with his comedic style we knew what to expect. Unfortunately, the Karen behind us couldn’t keep her opinions to herself.

  • Great show, witty, veteran comedian.

Nice style, deadpan deliveries, great show. I will see him again somewhere. I wonder what his diet is..vegan?

His opener, Kelly Ryan, was refreshing and hilarious. I took the wife due to her dark comedy love and Jeselnik being her fave. I will say he was a strait professional. Enjoyed his perfected act!

  • Loved it. Best comedian I’ve ever seen.

Such a smart and funny comedian. My favorite. Was not disappointed.

  • Great show

by Charles on 3/17/24The Andrew J Brady Music Center - CincinnatiRating: 4 out of 5

Anthony Jeselnik and opener Kelly Ryan performed a great show. My only complaint was the ushers constantly walking up and down the aisle and blocking the view. Maybe they were looking for people taking pictures or video but they were very obtrusive.

  • Anthony was great

Great show. Nothing is off limits. Anthony rocks it. Not for the faint of heart however so come with thick skin.

  • Brady Center Employees Blocked My View

by Doug on 3/17/24The Andrew J Brady Music Center - CincinnatiRating: 3 out of 5

The show was great and Jeselnik killed it but I did not like the Brady Center employees blocking my view of the stage every 60 seconds as they walked the aisle looking for people using their phones. I had seats 1 and 2 on the floor in the 4th row and was definitely dissatisfied with the continuous interruptions.

  • Jeselnik is amazing!

by Laura R on 3/4/24FirstOntario Concert Hall - HamiltonRating: 5 out of 5

Great show, the man is hilarious. The opener was hilarious as well. There were some annoying people in the crowd but Jeselnik didn't miss a beat. My stomach hurt from laughing so much. Please come back to Canada again soon!

The sound system at the venue could have been better. Would have liked a longer show. Anthony was amazingly funny as expected!! 😃😂

  • Great Show

Exactly what you come to expect from a high-level comic like Jeselnik. Tight set, excellent punch lines you don't see coming that deliver lots of belly laughs. Great opening act (Kelly Ryan) to warm the crowd up for the headliner. Even though there was another show after ours, never felt like they were rushing to finish, show ran the perfect amount of time and delivered a 5-star experience!

  • Right comic, wrong venue

by Technoguppy on 3/4/24FirstOntario Concert Hall - HamiltonRating: 3 out of 5

Anthony Jeselnik was on his game. The Hamilton (late show) crowd was not. The acoustics and lighting were off. Too many "participants"in the audience. Anthony Jeselnik is not a stand-up comic, he delivers jokes. That is to say it's about his timing, tone, and wit. If the audience messes with that (which is what a great many did in the Hamilton audience) the joke either falls flat or is missed entirely. He was noticeably agitated / frustrated by the crowd. My advice for future attendees... Avoid the FirstOntario Concert Hall (which is not to be confused with FirstOntario Centre like they couldn't find a different name) for any live show if you want to hear it or see it. A cerebral comic needs a cerebral audience. Tough to find in Hamilton.

His opening act, Kelly Ryan, was a so funny. A really great start to the show! And of course, Anthony did not disappoint. He’s very good at what he does! 10/10 would recommend.

  • The next Godfather of Comedy

    by Shadowman229 on 2/26/24Chrysler Hall - NorfolkRating: 5 out of 5

I have been to multiple comedians and there is no other that can make people laugh bit by bit and show after show like Anthony Jeselnik. If I see a show nearby to where I live, I go to atleast 1 every year. I would encourage everyone (who have yet to understand what Gallows Humor is) to go check him out. No one does it like Anthony and I am glad I am alive to see him perform more than once.

  • Great night in Norfolk

by Buckeye guy on 2/26/24Chrysler Hall - NorfolkRating: 5 out of 5

My adult daughter and I attended the Anthony Jeselnik show. The entire experience was terrific. The opening act, Kelly Ryan, was very funny. She does a good job of interacting with the audience. Anthony, as usual, was simply hilarious. What he says is funny, but, in my opinion, how he says it very important. He has a great pause just before delivering the punch line. I love that because he allows the audience to almost guess where he is going. I found myself laughing before he delivered the line. Best part wasn't because I predicted the line, it was because I was able to try. His humor is somewhat dark, but not as dark as I was led to believe. I will definitely see him again if he returns to this area. Special shout out to all the ushers and other personnel that worked the show. They were friendly and efficient.

  • Great Show!

My boyfriend and I loved the show! Anthony was so funny and the location was great.

  • Too short!!

by LizzieB on 2/26/24Chrysler Hall - NorfolkRating: 4 out of 5

Jeselnik was hilarious and his opening act was great. It was just too short!! The opening act came on after 7:15 and we were walking out by 8:45. It seems like most comedians have limited their shows to 1 hour, but we didn't even get that. For the money, I think it's reasonable to expect the headliner to play at least a solid hour, maybe even a few minutes more - just my opinion!!

  • Another home run.

I’ve seen Anthony several times, and seen all his specials. Every time is even better than the last. My Mount Rushmore of comedy is him, Bill Burr, Norm McDonald, and Anthony again.
