Annie Awards Tickets

It's always great to spend an evening out with an entire hall full of grown-up human beings who understand the appeal of animated cartoons. Mostly because they MAKE them for a living! This is one sure-fire event for animation fans to attend, every year, if you're in the area. This year's ceremony was a little bit bobble-headed in terms of the presentation, specifically the tech -- blown teleprompter lines and mis-cued video segments became the running gag of the night. But everyone on stage seemed to take it all in stride and with good humor, which made it easy for the audience to do the same. The lack of a single "host" was an interesting experiment. I'm not 100% certain it worked.

Had a wonderful time at the 40th Annual Annie Awards at Royce Hall. It was amazing to be in the presence of such a gathering of world-class artists. The Annies should be televised so that all of the nation and world can join in this celebration of the year's best in animation arts.

If you love Animation (who doesn't?) come to the next one - get your tickets as soon as they are for sale next year - they go like hotcakes - and this event is worth every minute! Not only is it FUN, but he money for the ticket is an investment in a wonderful cause - honoring the unsung heroes of labor intensive animation art... a priceless treasure. I loved the emotional reaction of the winners touched by their honors, the audience cheering for their favorite films... the entire experience was a delight! This is an event I will attend year after year.
