    Amazing

by Tati0571 on 3/29/11B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New York

I found the atmosphere very intimate and the sound system was amazing and we were sitting beside the speakers and we could still communicate with the people beside us.

    A Wonderful Night

by LJfromNJ on 3/29/11B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New York

Ms. Bofill looks and sounds wonderful, and looks like she is making wonderful progress in her recovery. Maysa was absolutely sensational!!! I had seen her at the same venue in September of 2006 and she was great, but her vocals were nothing short of perfect that night. I enjoyed how Ms Bofill and Dave Valentin reminisced about their history together and both Dave Valentin and Kim Waters are excellent musicians.

    Angela Bofill

by ARAMY on 3/28/11B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New York

It was great to see Angela, Dave Valentin, Maysa, and Kim Walker all on the same stage. The songs brought back many good memories. The show itself was entirely too short lasting only 1 hour.. The audience including myself remained seated when the show ended wanting more. We were stunned that it was over.

The Angela Bofill expierence was awesome.

by hmr4578 on 3/28/11B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New York

From the beginning of the show to the end I was on the edge of my seat. I saw this review last October on Spirit of New York Cruise with Maysa and Phil Perry but their was no comparison. The venue and the fact that Angela and Dave Valentine were close friends made it very special and the addition of Kim Waters along with her old band just added to the experience.I was so impressed and touched by the show that I have been playing her music daily on my computer and I wore out her album"Angie" years ago so I'm going to try and purchase her Cd's.

Beware: Show a Tribute w/No Performance by, Angie

by SeasonTicketHolders on 3/28/11B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New York

Disappointing! Expected to see and hear Angie sing, but found out when she came on stage that she had unfortunately suffered two strokes and could not perform. While I do feel for her, when one pays to see an artist perform, one expects that artist to perform. Instead, she came out, sat down, and narrated the various events in her life, while others sang and performed. If you wish to see a tribute to La Bofil, this is for you. Otherwise, save your shoe leather, and not to mention, your money.

Angela Bofill Experience was FANTASTIC! Highly recommend any, and all of the musicians. The sound system was superb. The night was funny, sad, joyful and touching. The VIP seating was especially worth it. Premium seats, ultra comfortable! Would definitely go back. Hoping Angela will be singing again soon! Love Maysa, Dave, Kim and the band and back up singer. <3

    Fantastic

by FELICIA1967 on 3/28/11B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New York

I am still in aw over the show it was wonderful. Dave Valentin will now be added to one of my most favorite musicians. He played the flute and interacted with the audience in such a way we no longer see in today's musicians (real music, clean dancing interaction). Kim Waters with his fine self can play for me any day! He played his Sax for Angela in such a way it touched me, whew! A little sad when Angela came out since I was not aware she had suffered from two strokes but I must say she was fantastic in the narration as introduction into her songs that the mighty Maysa performed. Angela could not have picked a better songstress to perform her music. Maysa has left me speechless and still wanting more! Despite Angela Bofill's medical condition she took the time to sign autographs and take pictures.....what a lady! She knows how to treat and thank her fans for supporting her. I would attend this performance over and over and over if given another opportunity.

Angela Bofill - A True Survivior

by Hobojon on 3/28/11B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New York

As a long time fan of Angela Bofill's it was something of a miracle to see her again looking so beautiful and poised with just a touch of sass added. In 2006, she suffered the first of two major strokes that totally silenced this songbird. I was blessed to have seen her perform many years ago in DC so it was depressing to think that we might never hear that golden voice again. Fast forward to today and we see that Angie has truly fought her way back to the top where she rightfully belongs. Although she is not belting out the great songs herself she has intrusted the lovely and talented Maysa to do that while she still adds her own magic to the show with funny anecdotes while verbally jostling with Dave Valentin. They are long time friends and you can feel the love and admiration that exists between the two. Add an amazing saxophone player Kim Waters II and a brilliant band and you have the Angela Bofill Experience. My only fault with the whole production is that it ended way too soon. But I left with a sense of comfort that Angela Bofill has overcome the odds and is in my humble opinion a true survivor.

Evening was full of both love & talent. Loved seeing Angie's resiliency, and the interplay with her irrepressible & talented colleague Dave Valentin made it a joy. Maysa has some pipes!

    An angel of the night...

by Nerobear on 2/27/11Birchmere - Alexandria

When I heard that Angel Bofill was touring and found that she would be in my area on the weekend of my birthday, I had no choice but to see her. Maysa did an outstanding job performing her music. Seeing and hearing Angela narrate this concert really made up for her being unable to perform the songs herself. I closed my eyes and imagine it was Angela singing all of her songs. If you are a fan, I guarantee you it will be worth it. If not, this will be your chance to see a legend as well as an up and coming legend.

Angie Bofill Experience @ Birchmere - Magic!

by ValZippy on 2/3/11Birchmere - Alexandria

It was awesome to be in Queen Angie's presence. She still has her sense of humor despite all she's been through. Maysa brought those songs to life like only she can. Dave Valentin was outstanding; I've never heard a flute like that! Both Angie & Dave are from the Boogie Down Bronx ... I never knew that. Magical evening. Only sorry that I didn't get to stay for their autographs.

Maysa was awesome but seeing Angela was priceless!

    by kgee28 on 2/3/11Birchmere - Alexandria

This was a surprise birthday outing for my wife. We have lived in e DC area since 1991 & had never been to the Birchmere. We enjoyed the venue. Being able to have dinner there was an added bonus. The staff was friendly & helpful. I thought getting out the parking lot was going to be a nightmare but we exited with ease. I would recommend this venue to any Washingtonian.
