Andy Kim In Concert
When Andy Kim steps on stage, a kind of musical magic trick happens. The decades that have passed since he scored his biggest international hits with infectious pop classics like "Rock Me Slowly" and "Baby I Love You" somehow seem to fall away, and all that's left is the simmering passion, husky vocal power, and rock-star charisma that first brought him fame. And while that in itself would be plenty of reason to see Kim in concert, there's the institution he established in 2005 with his annual Christmas show in Toronto. At that holiday extravaganza, not only do you get to see the Canadian hitmaker belting out a bunch of his most popular tunes, you're also treated to a cavalcade of top-tier guests, including some of the best Canada has to offer. Everybody from Alex Lifeson of Rush to Broken Social Scene has turned out for the event, often guesting with Kim on his set to help bring it all home.
Andy Kim Background
Montreal-born Andy Kim found fame when he started scoring Top 40 hits like "How'd We Ever Get This Way?" and his cover of The Ronettes' classic "Baby I Love You" in the late '60s. But he also slipped into success through the back door during that same period, when he cowrote the No. 1 hit "Sugar Sugar" by The Archies. Kim continued to score hits under his own name in the early '70s, but the moment that really ensured his immortality arrived in 1974 when he topped the charts with his song "Rock Me Gently," a tune that would come to define '70s pop music. At the end of the '70s the unpredictable Kim adopted the alter ego Baron Longfellow, and in 1980 he scored a hit under that name with "Amour." Before the '90s were out, Kim was pretty much in retirement, but he was coaxed out of it in the '00s by Barenaked Ladies frontman Ed Robertson, who collaborated with Kim on the latter's 2004 track "I Forgot to Mention." In 2005 he inaugurated his Christmas show in Toronto, an annual benefit that would find some of the biggest artists in Canada joining in each year for a heady holiday bash.
This was my second year attending and I'll be back again. Great music and spirit to the evening. Special guests Alex Lifeson, old favourite songs by Men Without Hats and some good hard rock from a The Damn Truth were highlights for me.
This was our 4th time seeing the Show, Andy always assembles an eclectic mix of musicians & they certainly put on an entertaining show…. This has become a family Xmas Tradition in our Family!!!
Andy Kim's Christmas Concert for The Starlight Children's Foundation Was an excellent experience for a good cause. BRAVO to all the artist's that volunteered their time.

This was only our second show but Andy Kim, Ron Sexsmith and all those phenomenal musicians and artists make me so proud to live in this glorious country! 🇨🇦 🍁 I hope to attend for many years to come! Andy, you are a national Treasure, 100% 💜 You benefit so many people with this act of pure humanity, unselfishness, kindness and love! Happy , Healthy and Joyful Holidays!
The concert was wonderful, the charity that it supports is more thsn worth while. Thsnk you to Andy kim for a great evening.
The line up was long, spanning three streets. Entry didn’t start until 7:15 p.m. for an 8 p.m. concert start. By the time I got to the doors (I was practically at Queen Street for entry at the Shuter St. doors), the staff weren’t even pretending to check vaccination status. Food and drink were allowed in the auditorium, which means people were unmasked. Then the concert itself (which was good) just went on and on due to the lengthy time to set up between acts. It finally ended at 11:45 p.m., after starting 15 minutes late. This was my first event at Massey Hall and it will be my last. Andy Kim gets 5 stars. Massey Hall gets zero.
Best Andy Kim show! He is a legend! Cannot wait till next year, when the venue is actually finished!
Another great show hosted by Andy. Loved the new lineup of great artists and excellent Canadian talent. Enjoyed seeing acts I haven’t seen or heard from for many years (Men Without Hats, Parachute Club) and great current talent (Sloan, Jake Clemons). Can’t wait to see next year’s lineup! Andy to you and your team, another great job!

What a fun evening. And I loved the horse and buggy ride to the theatre door! They should serve roasted chestnuts at the venue to round out the holiday experience.
Always entertaining and a lot of fun. A wonderful Toronto Christmas time tradition that helps a great cause at CAMH. Only 4 Stars because of the venue. Sound isn’t the greatest and was sold a ticket(Orchestra, Row W, Seat 28) that didn’t exist. Do yourself a favour, if you’ve never attended one, and go next year. You’ll be happy you did.
This was my second year attending the Andy Kim Christmas show. It is a down to earth gathering of local talent. You get to see and hear from old favourites like Pagliaro and Platinum Blonde, as well as talent that is new to me, like Choir, Choir, Choir and Maestro. As well, it is great to have such a good time while supporting CAMH. I will certainly go again next year. I would love to see Alex Leifson from RUSH. I know he has been part of the show in the past.
Amazing laid back atmosphere. Great variety of entertainers. Small venue added to the feeling of involvement. Only drawback was acoustics, balance was off and volume too loud for size. Otherwise a very memorable experience supporting a great cause!
Intimate evening and still has the pipes. Highly recommend this and will attend next year if he returns
