This show beyond words. Never underestimate the power of positive partying. In fact, in a decade or so, Andrew W.K. will write a special song about this concert and venue. He played this special song towards the end of the set and told us of the song's history.
This show was the party I always envisioned when thinking of New Years Eve.
I really hope this is a new tradition. It's been years since I've seen Andrew WK live. I've seen him a couple of times at Ozzfest and some other venues, but this was something really different. I've always seen him with hardcore or metal opening bands. Unfortunately that wasn't the case here. I'm not even going to talk about the first two bands because they weren't my style. There was a long countdown from 666 seconds to get to new years. The band came out a little bit before the 10 second countdown. At zero, a whole bunch of balloons fell down over the floor and they went directly into the entire 'I Get Wet' album. The only change I could tell was that he changed the words in 'I Love NYC' to "I love Massachusetts". Which could be expected, haha. Songs praising NYC don't really go well in Boston... So they played the entire album and then played most of the second album I believe. But, before leaving, they played "Party Hard" one more time, which everyone loved. Andrew was his normal upbeat and rocking self. He always looks like he's having a great time and it really translates to the audience. If you have a chance, you should definitely go see Andrew WK live!
Not exaggerating. Venue small enough to be intimate, and Andrew WK is honestly the coolest human being I've ever seen. I've been to many many many concerts, festivals, national tours, but all of them pale in comparison to this. Fresh pizza, decent beverages at A&R (badass venue) and Andrew WK leading everyone in the building like a Evangelical Partying Pastor to pure unadulterated... JOY? Bunch of old & young metalheads, punks, hipsters, neckbeards, posers, and preppy kids to just be happy and rowdy together.
Never in my life have I been to a show with so much energy. It was a very small crowd (which, sort of made the show a whole lot better), and it seemed that, unfortunately, 60-70% of the audience had no idea who Andrew WK was - but by the end of the night, everyone was partying hard; everyone was up on stage, dancing, having an over-all great time.
Really great time with fun openers. First NYE show Andrew WK has ever done. Glad I didn't miss it.
When it's time to party, AWK always parties hard!!
I went to the Party messiah at grog shop sept 26th. I love Andrew wk and have seen him 3 times live and always loved it but this solo thing was horrible. Not only did he take an hour and a half to come on after the last set but he barley played any of his normal songs. Partly it may be my fault because I was expecting the full band but I feel he was just drunk and messing around like he was in a basement band. My friends and I all left before the show ended because it was not enjoyable.
Andrew W.K. is a one man party machine. Armed only with a keyboard and flanked by his "hype man" (for lack of a better word) Andrew W.K. had everyone at the Underground rocking out and singing along. Super fun show that ended with me an arms length away from Mr. W.K. singing at the top of my lungs on stage and loving every minute of it.
Andrew WK is the KING of party. If Andrew W.K. is ever playing a show anywhere near you, I highly suggest attending whether you have heard his music or not, either way you are in for a treat and a TRUE party.

The two opening bands were ok. I didnt go to see anyone else except andrew wk. This show was the best show i have ever seen! The positive energy from the band and the other people at the show was amazing. I love how Andrew respects his fans and just wants everyone to have a good time and PARTY HARD!
I had very high expectations for this concert and I was still blown away. The concert was phenomenal and I was able to chat and take pictures with Andrew and his guitarists afterwards. They were all so nice and seemed genuinely pleased to meet fans.
Party!!! Party!!! Party!!!:) it was Awsome... For 35 $ Andrew W.K is just a brilliant entertainer :)
INCREDIBLE SHOW!!! By far the most fun I've EVER had at a concert.
Andrew WK rocks again. Amazing show! How this guy isn't a national hero is beyond me.
I didn't see enough of the earlier act to comment, but that's OK as I was there mainly for Math the Band. Who are AMAZING! Frantic melodic punk with more energy than an explosion in a nuclear power plant. Andrew W K to follow - I'd say a perfect mix of Ramones and Meatloaf. And hardpartying to the max. I was surprised to find he's no psycho, rather a warm, friendly, crazy party animal, inviting everyone onto the stage to join in. I'd just flown in from the UK, so hadn't enough energy to spare, but a great night nontheless
AWK rocked as hard as ever! He ripped through I Get Wet then went on to stuff from The Wolf. I even got on stage and rocked out with him!!
Andrew WK absolutely kills it and this was no different. WE WILL REMEMBER TONIGHT!
Andrew W.K. brought it at this live show. He played the entire I Get Wet album plus some extra songs (I won't spoil it if you're seeing him elsewhere). An amazing show with a ton of energy.
