Absolute Highlight of the Christmas Season

    by JGill22 on 12/20/11Ryman Auditorium - Nashville

The Behold the Lamb tour is the highlight of the Christmas season for me and my family. There's no better way to reflect upon the birth of our savior than this annual event. Peterson and crew do such a tremendous job in staging the event. This was my first time seeing the production at the Ryman and I don't believe there could be a better setting anywhere with the acoustics of the building and the Nashville talent that makes surprise guest appearances. If you're even thinking about coming, do it. You won't regret it.

Good but not as good in years past

by bigfatmomma on 12/29/10Ryman Auditorium - Nashville

I look forward to Andrew Peterson's Christmas concert every year. I listen to his CD Behold the Lamb year around and it always makes me cry. This is my third year in a row going to his show at the Ryman: two years ago it was magical, last year it was good, this year--- our friend who came with us went to the lobby during the first half he was so bored. There were some replacements in the band that seemed not as good and Andrew did not do a good job introducing us to the other members. There was not a special guest this year (unless it was Buddy Greene?) and although there was major talent like Stuart Duncan, the audience didn't know it because Andrew didn't tell us like in years past. The second half of the concert when the album Behold the Lamb was played was still great; but I really could have skipped the first half which is normally delightful. The songs the artists chose were just bad. All in all, I'm disappointed!

A Christmas Concert everyone should see!

by Anonymous on 12/22/10Ryman Auditorium - Nashville

A truly amazing concert! We traveled down from Indiana to attend this concert, and do some sightseeing in Nashville. This was easily the best part of the trip! I have owned and loved the cd 'Behold the Lamb of God' for years, and it was wonderful to see it performed live. The first part of the concert was Andrew and several of his very talented friends singing songs 'in the round'. Since I also have cds of Jill Phillips, Andy Gullahorn, Randall Goodgame and Andy Osenga, it was a joy to hear them all performing, and I also very much enjoyed the people whose cds I don't own (yet). The second half of the concert just flew by in a retelling of the Christmas story that offers an older, bigger perspective that never fails to move me. The Ryman was a perfect venue for this concert, and I absolutely loved the entire experience!

Andrew Peterson and those he brought with him provided the perfect mood and celebration of Christ's birth. They are so incredibly talented musically, and their message is so clear. I'm so glad we made the drive from Atlanta!

    Outstanding performance and message!

by Anonymous on 12/20/10Ryman Auditorium - Nashville

I would highly recommend this show to any Christian, music lover, or instrumentalist. The message brought forth in the lyrics tells the Christmas story - but instead of beginning with the birth of Jesus, it ends there, and it begins with the stories from the Old Testament. Andrew and his group of talented performers usher in the Christmas season in a dramatic and fitting manner.

This was my first Behold the Lamb of God live experience and it definitely lived up to the praise I had heard from others. The songwriting and sharing was moving and the 2nd act with only the Behold the Lamb of God songs was just a beautiful way to celebrate the birth of Christ and the season of Christmas. I intend this to become a yearly tradition for me.

    Behold the Lamb--Powerful!

    by bvm2 on 12/20/10Ryman Auditorium - Nashville

This was a really cool concert to attend--somewhat like a Christmas worship service. It really helped to prepare our hearts for Christmas. However, only a few "familiar" Christmas songs were sung, so if you are looking for old classics, this isn't your concert. Peterson and others have written amazing songs about the birth of Christ that will move you to tears! Check it out!

    Andrew Peterson was wonderful!

by HCounsellor on 12/20/10Ryman Auditorium - Nashville

I have been a fan of Andrew's for some time now. However, I did not expect it to be as amazing as it was. The music was unforgettable!! So many talented artists in one building and so many eclectic styles - music for everyone's tastes! It was such a musical journey full of emotion and expression. I will go every year!!

Behold the Lamb of God is not to be missed!

Awesome and wonderful. A celebration of Christmas and a balm for the soul. The retelling of the story of Christ with music which has become an annual tradition of the season.

    Lamb of God

by Schiedam on 12/19/10Ryman Auditorium - Nashville

Andrew and hisfriends were great people, easy, genuine and great artists. What made the concert difficult for us was the sound level, the amplification of supportive music drowning out the words of the songs, particularly the second part of the show. We felt we were blasted out of the pews - though a few songs were audible, as a whole we disliked the level of the sound, particularly because there were such great musicians (again, it was better in the first part of the show). Perhaps we are a bit older, but we love good music and the messages of the songs, however, why the amplification to a point it becomes the main message?

    BTLOG amazing as usual!

    by Amjo81 on 12/19/10Ryman Auditorium - Nashville

My husband & I have been to this concert for 3 years in a row now. It has become a part of our Christmas tradition & we plan to keep going every year! The artists are always unforgettable and blow us away with each performance. They all share songs that are so meaningful & moving, as well as outstanding musically. The second half where everyone comes together to perform Andrew Petersons album, Behold the Lamb of God, is beautiful & magical. It doesn't matter how many tes I've heard it or seen it- every time it is completely amazing.

Best Musical Event I've Ever Experienced!!!!

by Vivus on 12/18/10Ryman Auditorium - Nashville

It was amazing. It was fun and funny, sad and reflective, beautiful and holy. I took my brother and his wife for her birthday, and the first thing we said after it was over was that this was hands down the best musical event that any of us had ever been to, which is no small feat. It will now be a tradition we do every year and bringing more family. Thank you, it was amazing! :)

    A Christmas Tradition

by AllisonJoy on 12/18/10Ryman Auditorium - Nashville

While I haven't had the opportunity to go every year, when I am able to attend Behold the Lamb of God (BtLoG), I consider it to be part of my Christmas tradition. BtLoG is simply amazing on so many levels. The lyrics, the meaning, the music itself.... nothing can quite live up. I cannot recommend the concert highly enough if you are looking for something that not only celebrates but announces and proclaims the TRUE meaning of Christmas. Andrew and "special guests" tell the Christmas story from the beginning.... Starting with the Old Testament prophets and working up to Christ's birth, and finishing with a hint of the Easter story, to give Jesus' purpose: To be the Lamb of God who takes away our sins.
