About

Andrew McMahon, of Something Corporate and Jack’s Mannequin fame, has reinvented himself as Andrew McMahon In The Wilderness and has seen the biggest success of his 16 year career with hit single, “Cecilia and the Satellite.” His latest album Zombies On Broadway is a follow up to the eponymous album that produced the smash single, “Cecilia and the Satellite,” which became a Top 5 hit across both Alternative and AAA radio, Top 10 hit at Hot AC and which also climbed up the Pop chart. “Cecilia and the Satellite” found great commercial success having been featured on FOX's "Red Band Society" trailer, MTV's "Real World," and the TV promo for Warner Bros. Pictures’ film PAN. McMahon performed the single on “CONAN” and on “TODAY.” Most recently, he completed a massive summer tour across North America with Weezer and Panic! At The Disco. The lead single off the new record, “Fire Escape,” flew up the Alternative radio chart reaching Top 10 at Alt Radio and Top 5 on Billboard’s Alternative Song chart. His current single, “So Close,” is climbing Top 30 at Alt radio.

Aside from his professional successes, McMahon is a 10 year survivor of leukemia and founder of the Dear Jack Foundation, one of the first Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) specific cancer foundations which advocates for and supports initiatives that benefit AYAs diagnosed with cancer. McMahon lives in Los Angeles with his wife of 10 years Kelly and their daughter Cecilia.

    Meh

by Nowayjosewtf on 4/3/13Fine Line Music Cafe - Minneapolis

The venue was fine. The opening bands were dreadful....just awful. And, Andrew went on way too late. He sounded great as always. There were too many people in there, too. Overall, not a good time.

Show was great. A lot if 18-20 year olds and annoying drunk 21 year olds made for a less than pleasurable experience.

    Amazing show!

Andrew McMahon always puts on a amazing show! The mixture between new stuff, Jack's stuff, and Something Corporate was perfect! I was an unforgettable show. And the opening act, Barcelona, was also great!

Andrew McMahonwas wonderful! The show did run a little longer than expected. I would have liked to see less opening acts and more Andrew.

Seen him 9 times & have never been disappointed

by WhatTheFray on 3/30/13Various - Varios

Andrew puts out the same energy to the crowd every night. He never mails in a performance. Also, I have never met another musician that makes a point of meeting every fan after the show that wants to meet him. It must be exhausting, but he has done it at every show I have been to.

Andrew was awesome as always, Barcelona sounded like a poor man's One Direction. Never heard of Erland Wanberg before this show, but overall not bad. Very talented guys.

    Jack's Mannequin: AMAZING!

by Jacksftw on 11/21/10El Rey Theatre - Los Angeles

Everything about the event was fantastic! Jack's Mannequin and Something Corporate were both (as expected) phenomenal. The El Rey Theatre was wonderful, everything was perfect. They had valet parking for $10, which was really convenient. The venue was small(ish) which made for a nice intimate experience, and it was sold out but not over-packed. They did start about an hour late.

    Jack's at the El Rey

by esreysteve on 11/20/10El Rey Theatre - Los Angeles

Tiny venue, a little run down. Sound system was poor, the mix was off and one of the mic's was way too low. Probably the best show I've ever seen due to Andrew McMahon's energy, songs and both bands clear enjoyment in playing together. They looked like they were having so much fun, the fans could feel it and drew us into in. Every song was one you knew, played the way you remember, except a stirring version of "Swim" done "acoustically". The inside comments and stories to his friends in the loge made you feel like you were part of something special. If you ever get a chance to see Andrew alone, or with Jack's or SoCo, do yourself a favor and pay any price to get a ticket!
