About

Andrew McMahon, of Something Corporate and Jack’s Mannequin fame, has reinvented himself as Andrew McMahon In The Wilderness and has seen the biggest success of his 16 year career with hit single, “Cecilia and the Satellite.” His latest album Zombies On Broadway is a follow up to the eponymous album that produced the smash single, “Cecilia and the Satellite,” which became a Top 5 hit across both Alternative and AAA radio, Top 10 hit at Hot AC and which also climbed up the Pop chart. “Cecilia and the Satellite” found great commercial success having been featured on FOX's "Red Band Society" trailer, MTV's "Real World," and the TV promo for Warner Bros. Pictures’ film PAN. McMahon performed the single on “CONAN” and on “TODAY.” Most recently, he completed a massive summer tour across North America with Weezer and Panic! At The Disco. The lead single off the new record, “Fire Escape,” flew up the Alternative radio chart reaching Top 10 at Alt Radio and Top 5 on Billboard’s Alternative Song chart. His current single, “So Close,” is climbing Top 30 at Alt radio.

Aside from his professional successes, McMahon is a 10 year survivor of leukemia and founder of the Dear Jack Foundation, one of the first Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) specific cancer foundations which advocates for and supports initiatives that benefit AYAs diagnosed with cancer. McMahon lives in Los Angeles with his wife of 10 years Kelly and their daughter Cecilia.

Baltimore Soundstage was an AMAZING venue to see Andrew McMahon. Super intimate venue, able to interact with him up close, and great sound. Of course, he was nothing short of amazing and the openers were also great. Lots of old hits mixed in which made it even more fun. Hope he plays this venue again soon!!

    Absolutely Incredible

by Grace on 11/18/23Brooklyn Bowl Nashville - Nashville

This was my second time seeing him live (the first was the Three Pianos tour), and it was even better this time. The setlist was a great mix of songs from the new album and classics, and I loved how much they went in on the camp wilderness theming. I also really enjoyed the openers! An incredible night.

    Quirky Wilderness

by Csp on 11/18/23Brooklyn Bowl Nashville - Nashville

They’re taking the “…in the Wilderness” literally for this show. It was definitely a laugh! We’ve been fans since the beginning. AM is a true entertainer. Thanks for coming to Nashville! The music can’t be beat. The new album is awesome. And they played a ton of old stuff! Loved the impromptu jam sesh with Satch. You guys are awesome.

    Engaging Energy

    by Red Swagger on 7/30/23

An outstanding show. You won't be disappointed. High energy' fire escape kinda thrill! Will see again this year. You can tell Andrew understands his audience and fans. He was engaging from start to finish. You can tell he has been on stage for over 20 years. He really commands attention and his band was outstanding! Great chemistry.

    Amazing show!

    by k.loulou3 on 7/28/23

This was such an amazing show. One of the best I’ve ever been to. Flor, the opener, was excellent. One of my favorites, The Starting Line, was up next, and they played for about an hour, which was epic! And Andrew McMahon and his band put on such a fun, interactive show. So much talent on stage that night! If you ever get a chance to see any of these bands, do it!

    Great show! Fun energy

    by GeorgiaPeach on 7/25/23

This was a fantastic show - tons of fun! Thank you for all of the energy and enthusiasm - the new stuff is great. My only complaint was that I could not find info about openers anywhere....and then the doors weren't open until 7pm either. It was weird and made the planning of our evening out difficult.

    by JoyheadAlex on 7/25/23

I’ve been a fan of Andrew’s since I was 13 - I’m now in my mid-30’s. I’ve seen Andrew many times but every show just gets better. Down to the production of his stage to the lighting. Set list was perfect. We love you, Andrew!

    Long night but Andrew delivered!

    by Ray P on 7/24/23

The positive first --- Andrew McMahon In the Wilderness was just awesome and his connection to the audience is unmatched with other acts I have seen. He is a great performer and puts on quite a show. The less than positive --- there was no need for 2 opening acts. With the 1 hour wait outside for the doors to open and then nearly another hour until the first of the opening acts began, it was nearly 3 hours until I got to see the act I was there for. Only 1 opening act is EVER needed. (Flor were really good while The Starting Line were just loud and did not fit with the upbeat/mellow sound of Andrew McMahon). The mosh pit that erupted on the floor was so out of place for this event and older fans who were there to see Andrew were in the middle of it. Some moshers were actually removed from the event by security. As for the main show, I would have liked to have heard more Andrew McMahon In the Wilderness material and less from his prior 2 bands. I enjoy anything he does, but with 5 AMITW albums and a new one to push (which he only played 2 songs from), I really missed out on a lot of his more recent work. My personal peeve was the fact that the show was on Walt Disney World property and they didn't play "Something Wild"(Theme From Pete's Dragon). I am sure they could have found any fiddle player to fill in for Lindsey Stirling to perform that song.
