The ultimate love story continues in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Love Never Dies, the spellbinding sequel to The Phantom of the Opera.
Love Never Dies is a dazzling new production, which takes audiences on a thrilling rollercoaster ride of intrigue, obsession and romance. Be seduced by the beautiful; sometimes magical and poetic; sometimes joyful; and occasionally melancholic score. Don’t miss this magnificent continuation of one of the world’s greatest love stories.
The year is 1907. It is 10 years after his disappearance from the Paris Opera House and the Phantom has escaped to a new life in New York where he lives amongst the screaming joy rides and freak shows of Coney Island. In this new, electrically charged world, he has finally found a place for his music to soar, but he has never stopped yearning for his one true love and musical protégée, Christine Daaé.
Great music. Great singing. Great costumes. Great location.
LND is everything the theatre was created for. The music was stunning and lyrics were breathtaking in the title song! Words fail truly. When first we catch up with The Phantom and he starts to sing Till I hear you sing once more it was a spell cast over the entire audience of utter enchantment! Every note sung transported us deeper and deeper into his soul! Christine's performance of Love Never Dies, the costume, the set, was totally captivating! The show was truly a triumph! Glorious! Truly Glorious! Truly Theatre at it's finest!
I was totally blown away by the music, actors and costuming!
It was a snoozer! The story line corney and pandering. I would rewatch phantom over n over but this one, we’ll...the set design and costumes were great but it couldn’t capture the originals magic.
In my very humble opinion, the voices were amazing, if not a little too loud at times. The Phantom and Christine were both fantastic, as was Gustave. The set designs were great! I had a difficult time seeing everything at once, even though we sat in the balcony. There was so much to watch! All in all, I enjoyed the show. I was not, however, sold on the storyline. It was not up to "Phantom" or Andrew Lloyd Webber standards. The dialogue being sung almost in entirety was a little too "Les Mis-y" and often difficult to understand. As always, I love the venue and the lunch was wonderful!
Great musical. Shocking. If you're waiting to see Phantom again, this will absolutely bide you time.
I don’t think I have ever heard such unbelievable voices as the Phantom and Christine! Their voices left me BREATHLESS!!!
Beautiful music and staging, definitely lived up to my expectations. I had chills!
The show was incredible!! The costumes, props and stage where superb! Only complaint I have is the venue itself. The floor is so steep, folks with disabilities need to very careful. If you put your drink down and it falls over... the folks in the front row will have it in no time. So maybe some handrails for the needy and some sort of drink holders on the seats. Zero complaint about the production itself, was absolutely amazing!!!
I recently attended a matinee performance of "Love Never Dies" at the Music Hall at Fair Park. I love that venue. Most of the musicals I have seen have been there. I was in Section D, Row C, Seat 3. Was so happy that seat was available! I love being up close to be able to see the actors' faces. I have seen "Phantom of the Opera" numerous times and watched the movie version also several times. It is my absolute favorite musical!!! When I went to see "Love Never Dies," I had not read or heard anything about it. I wanted to experience it with no knowledge beforehand. It was a perfect, albeit heart-wrenching, sequel that tied so many things up nicely. It will never touch "Phantom of the Opera" in my opinion, the story line, the music, but the costumes and sets were amazing. I would definitely go see it, again!!! Extremely talented actors and actresses!!!
Love Never Dies exceeded my expectations. It stays true to the original Phantom’s haunting feel, yet with its own wacky, Coney Island twist. Highly recommend this touching sequel that closes the story of the beloved Phantom and the beautiful Christine!
Such a good performance! The singing was phenomenal! Beautiful voices! Loved the set and costumes. Such vibrant and lovely colors (costumes) and the set was done very well! I would see it again and definitely recommend the performance.
The show was very good , quite interesting in the way things were intertwined. It really could compare to the original Phantom. Sequels usually leave a little to be desired.
While my favorite of the two is still Phantom, I found this musical to be very entertaining and it kept my attention throughout the program. The stage production; sets, etc. were awesome!
Love Never Dies was an intriguing "after story", with some surprising turns of events! Incredible score, incredible staging, incredible script! Bring a tissue!
I thought that the music was excellent, the singing was spectacular and the plot was rather thin.
Venue is very dated and acoustics from the balcony are not good. Show was good but not great. First act was too long and slow and finally got rolling in the second act. Too much Opera type singing compared to the Original Phantom. Handling flow of traffic getting out of the show was horrible!! Overall below average venue and a new show you can tell is still working out the kinks. Should have waited and saw it at Bass Hall in Ft Worth.
This sequel to the Phantom of the Opera was fantastic! Of course, it is very hard to follow up to the Phantom, but this was very enjoyable with a great plot twist! The performers in our particular show were awesome..in fact I've seen the Phantom 4 times and this Phantom was probably the best one so far! I highly recommend seeing this!
I so wish I was closer to the front! My only regret! I would go see this play over and over again if I could! The music makes your soul soar! I can't get enough!
This play was one of the best I have ever seen. The stage, the orchestra, the actors and actresses involved were exceptional.
