This is easily one of the best acoustic rock and roll shows I've ever seen. Chris Jacobs opened for about a half hour to 45 minutes and during that time Anders joined him for a song. After a short break Anders and Jackie hit the stage trading leads on vocals for their respective songs. Towards the end of the show Chris joined in and finished up the night. One encore was a touching tribute to New Orleans' own, Fats Domino, who passed away two days before the show.
Two very talented musicians who are great together.
The show was awesome as far as musician performance. Great music & chemistry. Not to be missed. The venue was nice except having the bar next to the audience led to an incredible volume of noise all night. Even after artists made subtle comments the noise was very disruptive and spoiled the experience. I wouldn't return to the venue because of the volume of noise. Security should keep people away from front of stage when you have paid for reserved seats. This was NOT a general admission show. People should not be allowed to come down & stand in front of the front row seats.Another reason I would not return.
Must see event! The show started soft and revved up to a booming show!
I've been an Anders fan since I saw him at the New Orleans jazz fest in 1990. I don't miss his shows !! One of the best rock bands in the land !!
Great show from a man who is a story teller thru his songs and plays guitar like it's a part of him. He has a tremendous connection with his band mates and in true collaborative New Orleans-style, he even brought up a couple of incredible guest guitarists...Chris Masterson and DJ Williams. The Teragram Ballroom is an intimate venue well located near Downtown Los Angeles with easy access and nice improvements. Their cafe food is decent and their beer prices won't have you rolling your eyes.
The Anders Osborne band never disappoint. Ever since I saw them at the Howling Wolf in New Orleans last year during the Jazz Fest, I have been a fan. They are all excellent musicians on their own but when they play together it is magic. And they always give their all during their performances. True professionals. I will continue to promote and see them whenever and wherever I can. I love to watch Eric, Carl and Anders when they huddle on the stage and play together. You can tell they enjoy playing together.
Fantastic as always. Anders and the band get better every time.
These guys rock! Music and lyrics are phenominal. They clearly have a blast up there. So fun to watch, just terrific
Intimate venue, Amy helm set the tone. Anders Osborne answered with brilliance and lit the night up with a love of his craft and talent , you could only wish to witness
Fantastic show ... I've seen Anders three times before and THIS was by far the best performance. Great energy, great set list, surprise guests (Kebbie Williams from TTB?!!) and as always ... A GREAT BAND. Hat's off to Amy Helms and the Handsome Strangers for a stellar opening set. I WANT MORE
Great show great venue. Anders did some old some new and some covers. An awesome version of Neil Young's Ohio. if you like your blues mixed with psychodelia Anders is your man.
His shows are a NOT TO MISS event...next time he is in town, run to see him!! Soulful and electric, he will have you wanting for more!!!
Show was awesome ! The Mother Hips opened, fabulous. Then Anders just shredded for a couple hours. Great!
Best show ever! Anders is an endorphin rush and best musician ever!
Went to see Anders, for probably the 6th time (3rd at the Howard), and was not familiar w/ the Mother Hips, but enjoyed them.....80% Greatful Dead, 10% America, 10% Eagles....definite California jam band. Anders put on a great show, but different than any other show I'd seen him do. A very different set list, and considerably more jamming. He seemed to have more energy than usual and I enjoyed it.
Southern Soul Assembly was amazing. If you like soulful acoustic blues you'll love this. I could have watched for 3 hours easily. I'm a big fan of each guy individually (and especially Anders) but together they put on a master class.
I was disappointed with the format. I went to see jj grey and mofro. Never would i have guessed that they would mush them all together like that. I didnt enjoy it. I guess that i need to watch carefully not to walk into a format like that again.
8X10 is the best....what a great nite....anders was sick!!!!!!!!!!!!!
