Anaheim Ducks History
What began as a 1992 Disney movie turned into a professional hockey team as the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim played their first official season in the NHL in 1993. With the emergence of Paul Kariya in late 1994, Anaheim had its first bona fide superstar.
In 1996, Teemu Selänne arrived via trade, and alongside Kariya helped lead the franchise to its first playoffs appearance in 1997. The Ducks reached the Stanley Cup Final in 2003, where they lost to the New Jersey Devils. Forever etched in Mighty Ducks lore was the knockout delivered upon Kariya by the Devils' Scott Stevens in game six. Kariya would make a hero's return in that game, emerging from the locker room to score and lead the team to victory. Netminder Jean-Sébastien Giguère won the Conn Smythe Trophy as the MVP of the playoffs, becoming the fifth player to win the trophy as a member of the losing team.
Disney sold the franchise to Henry and Susan Samueli in 2005, and the team dropped the "Mighty" from their moniker. With star players on the roster, including future Hall of Fame defensemen Chris Pronger and Scott Niedermayer, the Ducks finished the 2007 season as Stanley Cup Champions, defeating the Ottawa Senators in five games. With Rob Niedermayer also on the roster, the Niedermayers became the first set of brothers to win the Stanley Cup together since the 1980s.

Great value and a great game! The venue could use a better food selection though!
Great game but $61 for a mixed drink and one beer… ridiculousl
Great experiance even though it was “only” a pre season game.
Great rink and drink options. Not a bad seat in the house and great entertainment between whistles and intermission. The music was also awesome.
The cup holders are so high and the cups are so tall that it is very easy to bump and spill a 20 ounce drink on yourself and the person sitting next to you. It happened to me and it happened to someone one section over and there weren't a lot of people at the event. It must happen all the time. Delivery time of inseat food is too slow.
This was my first ever hockey game and it didn’t disappoint. The vibe and the venue made it worthwhile. Definitely gonna have to do it again
Came to the Ducks game from Indiana as a Columbus Bluejackets fan. We visited 3 arenas on this west coast swing watching our team. Anaheim was our favorite by far! Easy parking, easy in and out, extremely nice and helpful staff, very family friendly atmosphere and just overall a great time in spite of a Bluejackets loss!
Great experience at the Honda Center. Beautiful arena, very comfortable and many options for food/beverages. The people couldn’t have been friendlier. Unfortunately the ducks lost, but it was otherwise a great experience.
Although we didn’t get that W, win or lose I stand with my hometown team. Go Ducks!!!
The game itself was very close, despite losing to Dallas 3-2. My main complaint is that the music is cranked up way to load. Not everyone is a fan of techno-disco played between the action.
My daughter and I have been to a couple games now. The games are exciting, fun and they keep the crowd singing with the great music. The Honda center is a nice venue. I would definitely go back again for a concert. Watching a hockey game is so much more fun live.
I had a good time with the family at the event. But handicap seating was very limited. Not too much hassle to get in. Food and drinks at the event are big $$$.
Due to my app not working on my phone for Ticketmaster, experience of getting my tickets printed out by Honda Center Box office was great. Ushers were helpful and game was great. Ticketmaster needs to fix their app. Was not working for me on my phone.
This was my and my families first hockey game. And, even though our team didn’t win, we had an amazing experience. The staff at the venue was AMAZING!! Food is crazy expensive, but it always is at sports events. The other experience was WONDERFUL. We all had a total blast!!
Immediately upon arrival, it was clear everyone I would encounter would make this night even more enjoyable then I already knew it would be simply because I was at a live game. I was greeted warmly at every turn, offered assistance (and not patronized!) due to being in a walking boot, and everyone was so friendly and helpful! The atmosphere was electric and welcoming, even to a Sharks fan, and I had so much fun with the fans, the game, and even Wild Wing got in on the action! The only down side is just the high prices of the food and drink items. Anyway... this experience makes me wish the Sharks (and Flyers) were playing here more often!
The game was very exciting. Never dull. Wifi at the game was slow. But otherwise very engaging. Definitively will come again.
We set high above the ice against the Press Box and could still see the entire game. It was a good time, the only thing that is disappointing is the bathroom , but that's in every sporting event I've ever been to.
We had a blast that night. The workers made everything quick and easy also very nice. I will definitely be going back for another game soon.
Great experience and fun time at the game! Would like to see them again!
Great seats no matter where I sit ..lots of interesting people .. friendly and everyone no matter who you Root for has a good time. And ducks staff is the best..
