Anaheim Ducks History
What began as a 1992 Disney movie turned into a professional hockey team as the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim played their first official season in the NHL in 1993. With the emergence of Paul Kariya in late 1994, Anaheim had its first bona fide superstar.
In 1996, Teemu Selänne arrived via trade, and alongside Kariya helped lead the franchise to its first playoffs appearance in 1997. The Ducks reached the Stanley Cup Final in 2003, where they lost to the New Jersey Devils. Forever etched in Mighty Ducks lore was the knockout delivered upon Kariya by the Devils' Scott Stevens in game six. Kariya would make a hero's return in that game, emerging from the locker room to score and lead the team to victory. Netminder Jean-Sébastien Giguère won the Conn Smythe Trophy as the MVP of the playoffs, becoming the fifth player to win the trophy as a member of the losing team.
Disney sold the franchise to Henry and Susan Samueli in 2005, and the team dropped the "Mighty" from their moniker. With star players on the roster, including future Hall of Fame defensemen Chris Pronger and Scott Niedermayer, the Ducks finished the 2007 season as Stanley Cup Champions, defeating the Ottawa Senators in five games. With Rob Niedermayer also on the roster, the Niedermayers became the first set of brothers to win the Stanley Cup together since the 1980s.

Excellent venue, great sporting spectacle. Incredible sports memorabilia shop, staff all helpful. Food, drink expensive
Had the best time I've had watching a hockey game, the view from the seats was amazing, enjoyed every minute
Dress really warm, scarf, gloves and a hat. A good time was had by all.
Took my great grandson to his first Anaheim Duck game! I had never seen one either and we both had the best time! I loved the warm up and of course Honda Center made it more intriguing with all the music they were playing, When they got their first goal and the lights went Flashing and the horns went out we both started yelling and got so excited they presented it is so well and I think this should be on everyone's bucket list, a Hockey game! Honda Center was a very clean environment and the ushers and the security people were more than nice and helped in every little single way and this is what keeps people coming back!
Traffic flow in and out are awful - and the venue was not even close to full. Need more exits/exit routes. Premier wine sonly available on 2nd level and if you pay for a higher-priced ticket downstairs, the security staff will not let you up to level 2. Nonsensical. We only go to one game a year to see our favorite team. Might go to more if you have your act together.
First ever hockey game and absolutely loved it! The atmosphere was something different!
Good match, great arena ! Only exception the prices for food and drinks, so expensive (15$ for a beer, you can keep it).
Honda Center is a great venue. Very family friendly. Employees gracious and helpful! Could do with less of the touch screen food ordering. You need a QR on your phone after giving up your cell number just to receive your order. Way too much work to buy a simple cup of coffee.
The overall experience is great, fun to be at the stadium and watch the Ducks play. But the performances from Ducks this seasons could lead you going home feeling sad. A win would be fine… for once this season at least, in regular time. Gets boring to spend so much money to see them lose all the time.
Overall, game was great but a staff member from section 208 was rude. At first, she yelled at my friend and wouldn’t let her get to her seat. Then, when she finally let her go to her seat she told her “I hope the ticket is real.” Why wouldn’t it be? No longer going there. Sticking to staples.
First time ever seeing a home game other than the Blackhawks. . Was out in Cali visiting my daughter. Her first Ducks game too.had a blast. Good seats & a sudden death overtime victory for the Ducks
The game was on your seat exciting. The Leafs were good and the Ducks worked hard to make every point. Great win. The Center is clean and seats are nice. Hate the mobile ticket only option. My phone doesnt hold a charge if i use the phone for pictures. Didnt like the Centers small purse requirement either: glasses, phone, wallet, car keys- out of room.
After a disappointing start to the season, the Ducks came back strong and beat Toronto in a very exciting game. Even after being denied a goal in the third period, the Ducks were triumphant in overtime. Fantastic game to see live!
First time watching a Hockey Game, I've always been interested in hockey, and as a kid I watched all the Mighty Duck Movies which made me a Ducks fan. Enjoyed the game, glad we won!
The home team lost but the fans and arena staff treated me with respect. The previous night in LA I felt it was a more aggressive atmosphere even though the home team won. I have only good things to say about the experience except that $18 for a beer is a little steep
I am handicao and we live our wheelchair and companion seats. My wife and I plan in coming to more games. The honda center is lept very clean and all staff is friendly.
Back and forth action during the game. A fightn Overtime, and opening night? What more could you ask for?
I bought tickets to the Anaheim Ducks vs Seattle Kraken. I get there and it turns out they double sold my tickets. They gave us new seats but we missed the whole 1st period. We had trouble getting in since the other buyer had already scanned the tickets.
We have been taking our clear bag (12x10x3) to Honda Center for the last 2 years. On opening night I was not allowed to bring it inside. They said “look at the website” we can’t this year. How come 1 person at the metal detector won’t let me in but another person would allow another fan inside. Another fan Han a purse the same size. We bought the bag at Honda center too. The clear bags make it easy for them to inspect them. I carry my prescription case and other stuff. I also put my sweater and beanie inside the bag till I need it.
Had Dinner, drinks in JD’s Club, always Great Service and Food.
