Anaheim Ducks History
What began as a 1992 Disney movie turned into a professional hockey team as the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim played their first official season in the NHL in 1993. With the emergence of Paul Kariya in late 1994, Anaheim had its first bona fide superstar.
In 1996, Teemu Selänne arrived via trade, and alongside Kariya helped lead the franchise to its first playoffs appearance in 1997. The Ducks reached the Stanley Cup Final in 2003, where they lost to the New Jersey Devils. Forever etched in Mighty Ducks lore was the knockout delivered upon Kariya by the Devils' Scott Stevens in game six. Kariya would make a hero's return in that game, emerging from the locker room to score and lead the team to victory. Netminder Jean-Sébastien Giguère won the Conn Smythe Trophy as the MVP of the playoffs, becoming the fifth player to win the trophy as a member of the losing team.
Disney sold the franchise to Henry and Susan Samueli in 2005, and the team dropped the "Mighty" from their moniker. With star players on the roster, including future Hall of Fame defensemen Chris Pronger and Scott Niedermayer, the Ducks finished the 2007 season as Stanley Cup Champions, defeating the Ottawa Senators in five games. With Rob Niedermayer also on the roster, the Niedermayers became the first set of brothers to win the Stanley Cup together since the 1980s.

from parking at arrival to leaving, we had no problems, excellent staff interaction, and a terrific game all in one!
The before game food trucks were yummy and the game was awesome!
Honda Center was amazing. It was the loudest I’ve ever heard. Let’s Go Ducks
The lights, music and vibe! So good! Had a great time with family 🧡
What a great game and we got chicken. And a hat trick!!!
My overall experience was pretty good. While waiting in line, I ended up scoring free parking. So that had me excited and pumped up. When you first walk in there’s lines everywhere for snacks and drinks, so I felt like that kept the lines down. When we got to our seats I was pretty disappointed. I’m not a thin guy, but I’m not super obese either and I could barely fit in the seats and they were uncomfortably close to whoever you’re sitting next to. I couldn’t even get my phone out my pocket.
While visiting from Australia I took the opportunity to attend a hockey game and what a great idea. The one of play and structures are worth seeing live. The seats were comfortable and the service provided at the venue was exceptional.
My wife, 6 yo son, and I enjoyed the game. It was our first NHL Hockey game and the Ducks did not disappoint in the overall entertain package. Seats were fantastic, the club level was clean and safe and ideal for families. We got to order food and beverages from our seats which was nice. An inadvertent spill near our seats and the staff acted promptly to clean the slip hazard. My wife and son got a chance to be featured on the big screen during a spirit time out which made the experience quite memorable for my son. We will definitely go back and we are seriously considering season tickets provided the expense is not cost prohibitive. In addition, the Ducks provide ice skating lessons to future NHL players and for sure we will enroll our son into that thoughtful program.
This was our first professional hockey game and it was a blast. The Ducks organization went above and beyond to make it a great first game experience. The facility is beautiful, the in game entertainment is top notch, and the staff and players are incredible.
This was my first hockey game and I had a blast! My family and I enjoyed ourselves. The atmosphere with fellow fans was awesome that I plan on bringing my kids back for more games next season. For anyone who’s interesting on hockey- fan or not, I think it will convert you to a hockey fan.
Nice clean arena, easy to navigate and all the staff we interacted with were great. The mascot joked around with us because we were wearing the other teams jerseys. An explanation of why they were removing a body bag from the ice when we got there would have been nice, didn't seem to be an emergency, more of a photo/ad thing but it was kind of weird.
We were visitors from Germany and had the chance to see a Ducks Game! For me and my daughter it was the First one in LA! Everything works Fine! It was so easy to order the tickets. No trouble with the Tickets on our mobile… See u next time
Well it is always a great experience attending this venue from anything from hockey games to concerts. It is convenient because it is not far from where I live. The parking is very organized and I don’t wait that long when it is time to exit.
We had a great time. We are ducks fans. The Honda center of course was amazing. As always the food is expensive lol. But other then that it was great.
Great experience! Enjoyed the game! Ticketmaster experience was excellent Honda Center a great facility.
We had a group of 4 Preds fans and it was our 1st time at the Honda Center. We were lucky enough to get 4 tickets right behind the Preds' bench. From our pregaming at JT's across the street to our interaction with Wild Wing during the game, we had an absolute blast! The Ducks fans we talked to were all very nice and we had no bad experiences during our visit. We definitely can't wait to go back!
Wonderful experience. Parking and access to facility both very easy. Game experience was great! Good atmosphere and friendly staff at venue.
Great time. The hockey game and atmosphere were great.
Looking up seats was overall ok. But I intentionally chose a seat where I could see the Ducks goalie. I did this based on the image and info on the map. When the game started the goalie positions were opposite of what was listed. This means I did not get to see more of Dostal and had to watch the opposing goalie. My daughter loves the Ducks goalies so this sucked. Also, when I arrived at the venue both the app and the website decided I was a bit and wouldn’t let me log in. I thought I wasn’t going to get in but the ticket counter was able to print tickets. So I had the joy of looking dumb and having to wait in line twice. Not really happy with this experience.
On my way into the Ducks game on February 15th, I had transferred all my things into the clear bag that I bought on NHL.com. I was stopped at security and told that the bag was too big. I explained that I purchased the bag on NHL.com for this very reason. They were unmoved and I had to walk all the way back to my car to leave my stuff there. Then when the game was ending I saw a woman leaving and she was carrying the EXACT same bag that I was turned away for. Clearly the Ducks need to get it together.
