    So much Fun!

by Lou Lou on 1/12/24Ames Center - Burnsville

This was wonderful. It really puts you in the Holiday Mood! Their voices are really good and the choices of songs transport you back in time. This was my second year seeing the show and I would see again and again!

    Disappointed

by Carrie R on 12/20/23Ames Center - Burnsville

Sad to say this had kind of a high school theater production vibe. They tried. Delivered a bunch of songs from the Frank and Andy era, and a significant orchestra, but pretty amateur. I bought in because of Mick’s reputation, but the only saving grace was Ben Utecht’ s great voice (who knew football players could sing!). I’d pay to hear Ben again but Mick and his wife need to pass the baton.

Entertaining! Except for the donation campaign

by Marie on 12/20/23Ames Center - Burnsville

The show was entertaining and most of the musicians and vocalists were quite talented. I appreciated the time and creativity that went into putting this joyful show on. The performances brought back memories and stirred warm feelings and sentimentality. Thank you to everyone for giving the performance your all and for bringing Christmas spirit! What I wasn't expecting were the various comments and remarks about the presenter's not-for-profit charitable organization, and the multiple requests that were delivered throughout the show for donations. The charity is small and obscure. I had never heard of it and many around us expressed the same. I am reluctant to donate to organizations that I know nothing about. The appeal for donations at this show was a little strange to me and made me leave the show a little confused and put off.

    Could have been better

by Jenny on 12/20/23Ames Center - Burnsville

I wanted to love this show, but couldn't. The back up musicians and singers were fabulous, but the two lead singers could have been better. I've seen Mick before and he's usually amazing, but this time it felt like he sang every song too low and instead of belting the high notes, he just dropped to a whisper. Maybe he was getting sick? The other lead male had a good voice but again, could have done more with the songs. The set list was repetitive, with multiple versions of the same song and most of them sounding alike. Perhaps that is inevitable with an Andy and Bing show but seems these fine musicians should have been able to find a way to mix it up more. And Mick kept introducing musicians over and over (often before their song/solo even started), effectively requesting applause, which felt contrived. The female singers, however, were a highlight! All were super energetic, fully engaged, and with fantastic voices they shared with us fully.

Good, but could have been better.

by PK on 12/20/23Ames Center - Burnsville

I like the variety of the songs. Both men had good voices. Ben Utecht's voice was exceptional. However, I thought the volume was too loud most of the time. So loud, in fact, that it almost distorted the voices. The quartet of female singers were fabulous. The harmonies were great. Again, I think it was because the volume wasn't so high. The song "Sisters"proves my point. That song, vocally and harmonically, was one of the best of the night. The female singer who wore a stole and sang a solo had a powerful voice. But I couldn't understand a word she sang because, guess what, the volume was too loud and distorted her voice. Finally, since this was a tribute of sorts to Andy and Bing, it would have been nice to have a short commentary about each of the songs - a when, where, how kind of commentary. So I enjoyed the show but will wait a couple of years before I see it again. Maybe they will incorporate some of my comments.

    Great Value!!!!!

by Mike on 12/26/21Ames Center - Burnsville

Other than the audio sometimes not being “ready” - like when the ladies would start singing their mics were low/off, the show was great! Right at 2 hours of singing and their band was wonderful - sometimes you would have thought they were playing the original music via CD. Glad we did this and what a value of a show. This one was much more enjoyable than other shows we saw around town.

    Fantastic show!!!

by Coppercoin on 12/26/19Ames Center - Burnsville

We loved this show!! Our family grew up on this Christmas music, so me and my sisters surprised my parents with tickets. Hearing the old Andy and Bing songs done live with the orchestra was an absolutely wonderful experience!! Ben and Nick did a fabulous job singing and entertaining! My only reason for 4 stars is the stage was disappointing. There wasn't a single Christmas decoration to be seen. :( Some Christmas trees with lights or poinsettias would have really added to the ambience... after all it was a Christmas show. Having Mick wear a Santa hat like Bing would have been a fun idea too. The show more than made up for it though.....so glad we went!!
