    MIND BLOWING

by Anonymous on 10/17/11The Fox Theater - Pomona - Pomona

Never have I been so visually immersed into a piece of art/music. The ISAM tour is a truly unique experience that anyone who appreciates art, or even good music should see. It's a one of a kind experience that I would love to see again. A+! Great job Amon Tobin

    Bloody Brilliant

by Anonymous on 10/17/11The Fox Theater - Pomona - Pomona

Arrived at the theater around 8 pm just as Emika was going on stage. I was quite impressed by her music (listen to her online) and intrigued by her seductive submissive demeanor. A lot of people were comparing her to the likes of Bjork, which I could agree to a certain extent but emika keeps greater composure. Eskmo was next and I felt let down. He had great beats and creativity but when he built his beats there was no climax or breakdown, his music would just build and then plateau. Amon was amazing. Hands down. The AV that his graphics crew put together was excellent and the new ISAM album is amazing(requires bass for full experience). Amon delivered to say the least and I am happy to have seen the artist at least once in my life.

by Franki724 on 10/17/11The Fox Theater - Pomona - Pomona

If you are looking for a unqiue experience where the special effects are giving a visualization of the music, this is your show! This show is like star tours on cyber-punk acid with avant garde sound of Amon Tobin. A truly unforgettable experience of electronic music.. You are going on an adventure if you choose to attend this concert.

    Has anyone found my brain?

by felch on 10/17/11The Fox Theater - Pomona - Pomona

This show was one of the most incredible displays of audiovisual mastery i have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. I had only started listening to amon tobin a few months ago, but have been a fan of eskmo for quite awhile. after listening to ISAM and seeing videos online of this tour, i HAD to see it for myself. Eskmo played an awesome opening set and Amon, the genius that i've realized that he is, blew my mind indefinitely. this show i will never forget

    visual and sonic adventure

by chirpchirp on 10/17/11The Fox Theater - Pomona - Pomona

emika went on first with some tasty bassy tracks she crooned over, had some solid beats and a good voice. eskmo came up next and definitely had some skill with the live mixing and samples w/ some interesting beats but i quickly grew tired of his awkwardly similar sounds and progressions throughout his set, which was a tad long. once amon tobin came on everything changed, the visuals on the structure synced with the innovative music of amon was mindblowing. found myself in awe most of the time, amazing show overall

Amon Tobin is INCREDIBLE! Area/venue was OK.

by Pr0metheus on 10/17/11The Fox Theater - Pomona - Pomona

Drove up from San Diego just to see Amon Tobin. The area was interesting, if not a little creepy. There was almost no parking so we had to drive down a few blocks and park in front of some houses that looked oddly like frat houses. Got a few odd eyes on us as we walked to the Fox. The fox itself is an interesting venue. It doesn't have very good seating arrangements, but it was decently large. I didn't know we wouldn't be allowed upstairs, which was kind of a bummer. We ended up on the railing on the furthest back platform as close to center as we could get. Eskimo put the mic down and they began to collect his instruments and the anticipation began. It took about 15 minutes for them to get his set ready. At 15 minutes (around 10:40) the curtains swung open to applause, and the music began. As incredible as the videos of this set were, seeing it live was a whole different experience. The visuals went along amazingly to the music. He of course was sitting in a cube in the middle of the set doing whatever he does for the performance. For those of you who have heard the ISAM album, it starts off somewhat slow with a few interjections of bass & kick. At certain points in the set he got into sections that were almost dubstep or complextro. They would continue for a short period of time then drop down into interesting sound effects. At the end of the ISAM set Amon came out and put his hands up to applause. After a minute or two he went back into his cube and began spinning some traditional drumstep (he opened with 8 bit bitch, and I don't remember the rest of his songs). Once again the visuals were absolutely incredible. After playing a few songs he came out again, then went back for one more time. The last portion was a little more downtempo and seemed kind of like an outro.

Amon rocked, others not so much

by enantiomer2000 on 10/17/11The Fox Theater - Pomona - Pomona

The first two acts with Emika and Eskmo were just so so. This lasted 2 hours and my wife who is not very into the music was quite bored. Then Amon came on and the presentation and music was very good. I would have showed up at 10:00 if there had been any mention of timelines on the website. Even the staff working there were clueless on when Amon was coming on.

I was disappointed that there was absolutely no dance beats. I was bored after 20 minutes and left after an hour. It's a cool stage show but without dancing it was pretty lame. Tech gamers would enjoy

    As Advertised

by Eleusis on 10/5/11The Warfield - San Francisco

ISAM is a landmark breakthrough in live Electronica. That is as simply as I can put it. From the moment he hit the stage the crowd was electrified and the energy did not dissipate until the final curtain. As advertised, the light show was unlike anything I have personally ever witnessed at a music venue. The sound from the front of house was top notch throughout. Even the absolute lowest frequencies never seemed to washed out or to be too powerful as is the norm at this kind of show.

I Came, ISAM, I Came Again

by JojoTheDogFacedBoy on 10/5/11The Warfield - San Francisco

Probably the best electronic music show I'll ever see. Musically and visually it was stunning. Amon Tobin has always been one of my favorites and I've seen him live multiple times, but this time was something else. His music just keeps getting better. The stage setup, though,... wow. I've seen video installments that synced to the music before, pretty impressive ones, but this blew them all away. Plus, Eskmo, the opener, was highly entertaining. I've heard his music online, but had no idea he'd be that good live. An actual performer.

    Words cannot describe

by Spacekitten on 10/5/11The Warfield - San Francisco

The title says all, if you have the opportunity SEE THIS. Unlike anything else, truly spectacular. All of my friends got ground floor tickets, which were sold out by the time I was trying to purchase mine, thus I had to sit alone. By the time the show started this was irrelevant. It wouldn't matter where or with who you were sitting, this is truly a modern marvel. Eskmo was a real sweet treat of an opening act as well.

    Amon Tobin

by jimtao on 10/4/11The Warfield - San Francisco

I've seen thousands of shows over the years and this may well have been the best I have ever seen. The brainpower and heart were in sync. The set was so well thought out and planned it became a living thing by the end of the show (even though it was a machine.) Pure art not to be missed. You will have a memory that will never be forgotten. Seriously.

First I would not normally go to a techno/electronica performance such as this, so I was surprised. Amon appreciated the audience and gave an excellent performance. The visuals were excellent, but moved to OK further into the performance, as a sense of visual repetition set in. But on the whole, both artists gave good performances of their work.

    Extreme and Epic

by RobBertken on 10/4/11The Warfield - San Francisco

These are the words i use when describing my Amon Tobin experience. I had never before been to an Tobin show and this was a monstrous viewing. The sound was heart stopping. And the visual show was massive, and completely unexpected. Amon Tobin is now my musical hero and he had pushed all standards aside and forged a completely new set of rules. The show was extreme and it was certainly epic.

Amon Tobin was great, but wish I had seen Eskimo..

by pumpikano on 10/4/11The Warfield - San Francisco

I loved Amon Tobin, but unfortunately he was the only artist I saw. Apparently someone in charge moved the concert up an hour. So while it said doors at 8pm on the ticket, doors were actually at 7pm. I ended up coming right after Eskimo went off stage. So basically, I got half the concert I was expecting. I can't imagine why anyone would sell tickets then change the concert time. Especially without trying to notify ticket holders. I could have been reached through ticketmaster, but I was not.
