the good:
-The visuals made the music easier to get into for my girlfriend, who is less into this style.
-As a fan since his early days, i dug that the visuals didn't have an obvious narrative that could've distracted from just feeling the music. the way he did it, the music and visuals complemented each other well.
-Great venue. Glad he ventured out of the usual clubs and concert halls. It was a little odd at first to see the audience sitting for the most part, and clapping between songs. It worked though, since it's just as much of a head trip as it is danceable, probably more so.
Changes we hope Amon makes for future shows:
-We would've liked to hear more of his "classics." I get that this was a different format than most concerts, and mixing new and old songs probably didn't make sense for the main show. Still, the encore was a missed opportunity to show some love for the long-time fans.
-Hope he'll bring back some of the humor from the earlier albums. The dark stuff is great, but I think it would be a stronger set if the feel was more varied.
-Would of liked to see more of him. The occasional glimpse of him sitting in his little glass cube was amusing, but would've liked to have a better view of him workin the gear.
