About

As a Swedish death metal band that mainly pens and performs songs about Viking history and lore, it makes absolute sense that their name is in the fictional language of Sindarin (created by J. R. R. Tolkien) and translates into “Mount Doom”—the volcano in Tolkien’s fantasy world of Middle Earth. It’s also fitting that Johan Hegg (vocals), Olavi Mikkonen (guitar), Johan Söderberg (guitar), Ted Lundström (bass) and Fredrik Andersson play über-loud hit songs like “Death In Fire,” “Thousand Years of Oppression,” “Without Fear,” “A Fury Divine” and “Risen From the Sea” with as much speed and vigor as wielded by the almighty hammer of Thor. Legions of death metal fans have been grabbing concert tickets since the early ‘90s to witness the fire and fury of Amon Amarth LIVE on stage, performing music that the band’s website describes as “a compelling fusion of buzzsaw riff work, melodic harmonies and soul-crushing rhythms.” Amon Amarth frequently play at metal festivals around the globe and tour with other top-notch death metal acts like Goatwhore, Enslaved and Skeletonwitch.

Over the course of their career, Amon Amarth have played at venues like Arizona Federal Theatre, and have brought The Fillmore (Philadelphia), The Fillmore (Detroit), The Fillmore (Minneapolis) to capacity.

  • A Glorious Evening

by Nordic Nevadan on 5/28/24Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Great concert, great venue. Frozen Soul was the opening band, they were full of energy and Metal and got things going. Obituary was up next and did not disappoint. Then Cannibal Corps came out and melted everyone’s faces off. After recovering from the face melting the Headliner, the Nordic Legends, Amon Amarth came out with an epic opening song. The stage show was off the hook mixing Viking and Metal. Before you knew it they were playing the final song. Amon Amarth is so bad ass, I highly recommend seeing them when they return Stateside. SKÖl!

I’ve seen Amon Amarth before and they will never disappoint their fans. The stage props are insane. I was there to actually see old school Death Metal bands Cannibal Corpse And Obituary, they’ve brought me back to my teenage years. Thanks!

Amon Amarth did a phenomenal show!! The only downside is the soeakers wasn't good so you couldn't hear the guitars very well.

  • An energizing show!

by Shaniese on 5/28/24Honda Center - AnaheimRating: 5 out of 5

This was my 2nd time seeing Amon Amarth and, just like the first time, they did not disappoint!! They have such amazing stage presence and great interaction with the audience, you feel like no matter where you're at in the crowd they see you! Their 3 opening acts were also electrifying and so much fun to watch! It was a great night!

by Eduardo on 5/28/24Honda Center - AnaheimRating: 5 out of 5

Amazing show, not the biggest metal head but man what a show. Amon killed it, Cannibal Corpse brought a bunch of energy, Obituary made me want to check them out, and Frozen Soul made me wish I had Pit tickets

  • Sick Raid

by Oscarin on 5/28/24Honda Center - AnaheimRating: 5 out of 5

First time seeing Amon Amarth, they absolutely slayed the crowd. Their stage show was insanely good . Cannibal opening for them was a cherry on top. They’ve found a new gear with Eric Rutan in the line up.

  • Mis directed

by Slomotion on 5/28/24Honda Center - AnaheimRating: 3 out of 5

I was told to go to three separate lines until I told somebody no. And not just a line they told me to go to a different gate section. Parking was a little hard to figure out but that was my own fault. And when we got to our seats there was a 6ft metal pole laying across the seats. No big deal but not really the best experience. The only thing that made up for it was the performing acts. Thank you.

  • Loved the Show - hated the venue

by Billy Jackson on 5/28/24Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort - Las VegasRating: 1 out of 5

My hobby is attending metal shows all over the world. I have seen Amon Amarth play in Prague with Machine Head, Iron Maiden in London, etc., etc. This was a birthday concert for me. I've seen Judas Priest at this venue before and it is a great place to see a show as there are no bad seats. However, at this particular concert, there were several severely drunk people around us who made this a very bad experience. The older lady behind me and her husband were completely wasted and she kept, purposefully, swinging her long hair in my face and my son's face - nonstop. The first time I asked politely that she stop. The second time, I raised my voice. The third time I yelled. After the third time, she started punching me in the back. She could hardly stand and I was concerned she was going to puke. Others around her finally left early and complaints were made to ushers and staff, but nothing was done. Additionally, they allowed folks from higher levels to come down and stand at the very front in the aisle and did nothing to move them out of the way. I will probably steer clear of this venue going forward. I ended up leaving one fourth of the way into Amon Amarth because it just wasn't fun any longer.

  • Epic Concert from an Epic Lineup in a well run venue.

by Bruddahfos on 5/27/24Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

To see these 4 bands together in such a fine venue as the Pearl Theater at the Palms, epic, to say the least. Head banging was done with the heaviest of heavy bands, merch was bought with ease, restrooms were utilized with zero hassle and beer was bought effortlessly, good times!

  • Cool

I liked all the bands a lot. They should bring more rock bands, it's an excellent stage

  • Great line-up

by Christopher on 5/27/24Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Great line-up all bands were great! Loved Cannibal Corpse!

  • Security was lacking

by Mary on 5/27/24Arizona Financial Theatre - PhoenixRating: 3 out of 5

The bands were awesome. Security was majorly lacking in the pit and around it. I was in sec 7, first few rows, I watched so many people hop over barricade and stay in the pit. People were blocking the stairs taking pics and watching concert. 1st and 2nd row had more people than seats in the rows. Security saw them piling in. Did nothing. Would love cup holders.

  • Super fun and energetic show

by Steph on 5/26/24Arizona Financial Theatre - PhoenixRating: 5 out of 5

The sets were super tight in between artists, and everyone started in a timely manner. Cannibal Corpse, Frozen Soul, and Amon Amarth were great, and the view of the stage from my seat (section 3 row 20) were so clear, I could have comfortably sat the entire night and still have been able to get a great view

  • Great concert
