    Sterile

by ohsdgijes on 9/25/13Circuit of The Americas - Austin

The facility is so new and state of the art that the racing is almost sterile. Can't get close to the track so you are left looking from a distance. The facility is for F1, everything else suffers.

Very fun, great track and awesome event. Parking was annoying, if I get there early, don't make me park at the back of the lot.

ALMS and WEC Weekend was Great Fun!

by FormulaGirl on 9/25/13Circuit of The Americas - Austin

ALMS and WEC Weekend was Great Fun! We got to explore the whole COTA complex and watch the races from many different vantage points with our GA tickets. Got to see the cars up close, talk to mechanics and mingle with Texas Friendly fans. The Hybrids were amazing - super fast and eerily quiet. It was also cool to watch the famous race their cars - Dempsey, Senna, etc.

    Circuit of the Americas

by Afhmbh on 9/25/13Circuit of The Americas - Austin

The racing and facility were terrific. We have two issues with Circuit of the Americas. First is on Friday, the first day, we arrived about the time the gates opened and the parking lot we were assigned to was not open...parking lot T. We turned around and went back and parked in the main lot which was fine but we do think they should have had the lot open. Second issue is we think the food concessions are way overpriced for the quality of food provided. In fact we might have spent more at the concessions if the quality and value were better. We think Circuit of Americas should allow folks to bring in coolers or their own food.

Really nice facility but since it is new the trees are young so there is no shade anywhere. Also, maintenance seemed to be behind on changing trash cans and cleaning toilets all weekend. They could add another tunnel or bridge to get from the grand plaza to pit lane, otherwise it's a long walk around.

Proper racing at a proper track

by DragonChowhound on 9/25/13Circuit of The Americas - Austin

This event is a must-see for any fan of proper racing (where cars go left AND right). It's incredible to see these cars up-close, and consider how fortunate Texas is to have the WEC and ALMS series here. The multi-day event is loaded with all sorts of interesting smaller races, with practice and qualifying for the two major races leading up to the main events. Pit lane times are available where spectators can get right up and close to the cars and the drivers. The track itself offers an outstanding array of vantagepoints, making it a photographer's dream. We had terrific seats, but actually spent little to no time in them, as we were walking around most of the time! Getting in and out of the track was a piece of cake, credit to the folks who designed the place for having a superior set of roads getting to and from the track. I cannot wait for this race again next year!

    Great Facility; Excellent Racing!!!

by bdr476 on 9/25/13Circuit of The Americas - Austin

First trip to Circuit of the Americas, it is a fantastic facility. Looking forward to many years of racing and concerts. We had general Admission tickets and were able to walk anywhere in the facility. There were many good vantage points to watch the racing action.

Great event (after we were inside)

by TheRealDudeAbides on 9/25/13Circuit of The Americas - Austin

No print at home tickets. Parking pass link broken. Cash parking lot wasn't so had to drive a half-mile away to a different lot which was another half mile from will-call which is now a mile from our seats. But they at least had a shuttle to help except the driver suddenly parked the van and walked away so we ended up taking a $20 rickshaw ride. Needless to say, the day wasn't off to a good start. Lots of food in main plaza but almost none in T1 except Mr Gatti's pizza (yuck) and an $8 dry hot dog. No condiments. They did have a free kiddie area which was excellent (made it a positive experience for my kids so kudos) but the rest of the nonsense really spoiled the event for me.

    Great for racing fans

by RedstangGT on 9/25/13Circuit of The Americas - Austin

I love cars and have been fond of LeMans racing since Porsche dominated in the '80s. So, this was a lot of fun to see. They drive in the rain...and it did rain. Great venue. Good price. If you like racing, go. I'm not sure you'll go back but you'll be glad you went. Get seats in the shade. Main Grandstand is shaded all afternoon. Seats high up at Turn 1 also look good for seeing a lot of the track. But you'll be in the sun.

    FIA/WEC ALMS races

by Beaurina on 9/25/13Circuit of The Americas - Austin

Racing was great, pit and paddock access was unbelievable! Great venue , great people and good experience......EXCEPT for parking. Too far away, not enough shuttles and just plain difficult to get back and forth.
