American Idol Tour 2009 - just average

by Hsquared on 8/17/09Blue Cross Arena - Rochester

Blue Cross Arena was extremely hot to the point of being uncomfortable. The song choices for many of the singers were poor. Many songs were boring and not well known. I would re-rank the top 10- moving singers like Anoop and Matt higher up the list. Kris chose some songs where the music totally overpowered him. Adam was as strange as usual, especially his one song where he suddenly sounded like a woman singing!

    American Idol Great Show

by Msamok on 8/17/09XL CENTER - Hartford

I am a big american idol fan this year, my daughter and I are. The show was great we sat on the floor next to the stage. Danny is my favorite well not anymore, he never even came over to the side, everyone else seemed to work the stage well not my favorite and I went to see him. Not happy about that, but the show was amazing so much energy and my daughter had an amazing time!

    So much fun!

    by EBMC1 on 8/17/09XL CENTER - Hartford

The idols really put on a good show. They really were the most talented top 10 in a long while. As a huge Adam Lambert fan, he certainly did NOT dissapoint. His performance was electrifying. Kris Allen also played an amazing set in which I sang every word along with him. Each Idol brought their own personality to each performace, and the song choices for each were impecable. Other memorable performances were given by Matt and Scott...they both amazed me! The finale of "Don't Stop Believin" was so high energy and so much fun. Everyone was on their feet, singing and dancing. I really, really enjoyed the show!!!

    The Idols were amazing!!!!!!!

    by momin0306 on 8/17/09XL CENTER - Hartford

What a great show. Not only did my mom and I love it, but we also brought my 6 year old son to it as his first concert. It was great for ALL ages. I can't wait for them to come back next season with a whole other group.

    Matt is the new entertainer!

by Fonda on 8/17/09Blue Cross Arena - Rochester

Although I loved the show, and I enjoyed the way they showcased each artist, I would love to have seen more interaction amongst the artists. I enjoyed some of the earlier shows better in the way they started the show. It was done more like they do it on the TV show where they all enter at once, showcasing a little bit from each artist. Starting the show with just one contestant made it a little boring--especially when all of the best talent is towards the end.

    A great show

by Jacquiesguy on 8/17/09XL CENTER - Hartford

I've been an AI fan for 2 years. This was the first AI tour stop I had seen. It had a slow start--most of the first 8 songs (by singers 10-9-8) I didn't know. But from that point it took off. Matt Giraud was the highlight of the first act. And of course Adam Lambert was the star of the show, clearly upstaging AI winner Kris Allen. Several group numbers were very strong. I particularly liked Beggin' (a 1967 Four Seasons song), Don't Stop Believin' and Hey Jude, which really surprised me as a song selection. And the rocker Alison Iraheta was as phenomenally good on stage as she was on TV--Cry Baby and Barracuda were show stoppers. Kris was good, but I was surprised that he didn't perform his signature song "No Boundaries." Lighting and staging were first rate. I'll be back next year.

American Idol Live - Way Better Than Expected

by ZMom700 on 8/17/09Blue Cross Arena - Rochester

My main reason for attending American Idol Live was to take my young daughters to what I knew would be a family-friendly event, but the concert was way better than I expected. All of the top 10 performers were very good and some were even amazing. Everyone was much better than they were on the show, which I'm sure was largely the great production values and some practice. But from what I saw in the concert, all of them are worthy of a recording deal. The top three were the best and simply amazing. I wasn't an Adam fan to start with but there is no denying that he is extremely talented. Kris and Allison were fantastic as well. I would highly recommend this show!

Adam was the hit of the show!

by DJMH on 8/17/09XL CENTER - Hartford

First off we were subjected to repeated music videos while waiting for the concert to start. While it's good to be entertained but to see the same videos played over and over was annoying. (And to see the same videos during intermission didn't help). The music videos should have been more broad to include other Idol singers like Cook, Archileda, Hudson etc. Secondly, what was the deal w/Megan's hair? What happened? We did not know if it was a wig or her real hair. We were hoping it was a joke but apparently it was not. Overall the show was great. All the singers were great! They have come a long way since being on Idol. They all have shown much improvement. Lil, Scott and Anoop were great! Of course Adam stole the show. He is always entertaining to watch and he always brings a venue to their feet. Kris was OK but unfortunately was boring (harsh words but true). The duet w/Adam and Allison was great to see again. Also, stop charging so much for t-shirts. Keep in mind the majority of the audience are teenagers and you think they all have $35-40 for a t-shirt?

    AMAZIN CONCERT!

    by Idolfan101 on 8/17/09XL CENTER - Hartford

This year's American Idols Live Tour was fantastic! Many of the performers were better live, than watching them on the show! They really loosened up and "shined" on stage! Scott, Matt Girard, Danny Gokey, Adam Lambert and Kris Allen stole the show! The first Matt, the one voted off first, was surprisingly very good as well! Although Alyson has a powerhouse of a voice, she was a bit disappointing. Best moment for her was her duet of "Slow Ride" with Adam! All in all it was a great show -well done!

    American Idols was fabulous!!

by Mojojan on 8/17/09Blue Cross Arena - Rochester

I took my 87 year old mother to see this show for her birthday! She loved it and so did I. The stars were polished, professional and enjoyable to watch. What a talented group of young people! The crowd was well-behaved and appreciative of the talented stars. I wouldn't hesitate to take my mother or my grandchildren to a show of this caliber. The selection of music covered everyone's tastes and was well-performed. I can't wait for the new season to begin!

American Idols Live - awesome concert!!!!

by LJHans on 8/17/09XL CENTER - Hartford

Concert was unbelievable! Each and every top 10 Idol was remarkably better than when they were on the TV show and the set display and TV screens were awesome! They had a great mix of songs we were familiar with from their best performances on the TV show, but also some great new songs too. They really rocked!

American Idols LIVE 2009 was the best tour yet!

by wysiwyg on 8/17/09XL CENTER - Hartford

What a great show! Any one of those 10 finalists could have been the winner in 2009. They were all amazing! It was a good mix of songs and performers. The show was well scripted and choreographed. It flowed well and kept the audience engaged. It was a 2.5 hour show that felt like 30 minutes. It was nice seeing each of the 10 singers featured with their own solo set (rather than a bunch of group songs).

    American Idol Live

by YuppieMom on 8/17/09XL CENTER - Hartford

Show was OK. Producers did not spend a lot of money or time on the production itself from what we could see. Adam Lambert was amazing and it was obvious from the crowd’s reaction, he was the crowd favorite hands down. The show was fun, a good family show and it was good to see so many families there together. Overall it was a fun night out.

It was O.K. - nothing special.

    by IdolFan26 on 8/17/09XL CENTER - Hartford

The show itself was o.k. Some songs were unknown to the majority of the crowd. The sound was overwhelming and drowned out the performers at times. Couldn't really understand what they were saying when they spoke to the audience. Would have preferred to see more of the top 5 contestants. Also thought that Adam had some inappropriate gestures given the fact that there were so many kids in the audience. There was no encore. Overall, it was mediocre at best for the price.

    Idols better live!

by ChrisCT on 8/17/09XL CENTER - Hartford

This is the first time I've wanted to see the Idols live--the talent this past year was great. They were even better live than on the show. Sure they've had lots of practice, but I've seen major recording artists in concert that really can't sing live. It was great!

    American Idol show was great!!!

by calie on 8/17/09XL CENTER - Hartford

The sound system left a lot to be desired, over powered the singers and echoed off the back, very distracting.

Adam Lambert is even better in person

The American Idol tour was awesome!! Adam was the favorite by far - he received the loudest cheers from the crowd!!
