About

AMERICA IN CONCERT:

Iconic folk rockers America have been performing to sold out crowds since the '70s, treating generations of fans to genre classics like “A Horse With No Name” and “Sister Golden Hair."  Considered a top-shelf  touring act, the band thrilled fans with the announcement of a 2014 coast-to-coast U.S. tour of their greatest hits.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

“The concert was exceptional. The band has not missed a lick in 42 years, which is how long it has taken me to finally see my favorite band.”

“They are just as good as when I first saw them in 1976, and I will continue to see them year after year… Their voices never seem to change, and in addition to all of their popular hits, they sang less popular songs from their albums, which I loved.”

“Played all their big hits and then some, with covers of "California Dreamin" by The Mamas and The Papas and "‘Til I Hear It from You" by the Gin Blossoms—a surprise. They sounded excellent from start to finish.”

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Gerry Beckley, Dewey Burnell and Dan Peek were barely out of high school when they first made a splash in the British folk-rock scene as America. Not only did they score an international hit with “A Horse With No Name,” but they took home the 1972 Grammy for Best New Musical Artist. A string of additional hits would follow, including “Ventura Highway,” “Daisy Jane,” “Tin Man” and “Lonely People.” In 2007, the band surprised fans with Here & Now -- their first album release since 1998's Human Nature -- earning praise from critics and kicking-off another successful tour. In 2011, America once again headed into the studio to record Back Pages, a collection of covers including renditions of songs by Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, and the Gin Blossoms.

  • Great Concert But Miss Gerry

by Scott P. on 11/10/25Pechanga Resort Casino - TemeculaRating: 5 out of 5

The band was fantastic and Dewey still has great vocals. They played most of their hits and several songs from early albums that I was unfamiliar with but enjoyed. The only disappointment was that Gerry Beckley retired a couple of years ago and was the lead vocal on many of their great songs like Sister Golden Hair, Daisy Jane, and Only in Your Heart.. His voice was very unique and couldn't be replicated by the other vocalist in the current band. Overall it was a great concert but it was like watching Fleetwood Mac without Christine McVie.

  • Great songs to reminisce

This was my third time seeing America. But, I was surprised by the member that retired R. He's the sweet voice of the group. The added member to replace him was Fantastic! He's super talented and sounds really close to the original. His falsetto is awesome. LOVE AMERICA THE GROUP ALWAYS ❤️ 💙 😍

-Timeless music! Intoxicating nostalgia. Enthusiasm all around. A very enjoyable give/take with America 2025. -The venue posed challenges for anyone with mobility issues. As well the structure and size of the seats were inadequate for anyone of a larger stature. Need to update!

They were very good. I enjoyed them very much. The alcohol stands closed too early though.

Saw them in 2002. The "I didn't know they sang that"tour, they jokingly called it. Outdoors, sunshine, dancing with every song you grew up listening to. One of the best concerts I have every been too, second only to The Who, at Madison Square Garden. This was very tight seating, as we were all old, and nobody seems to be tiny anymore. I only recognized Ventura Highway, and a quick clip of Daisey Jane. I left to go catch a hockey game next door 90 minutes in. Maybe the last few songs were all hits, I don't know. The voices were great, the stage was great, and I know they get bored with the same songs. Unfortunately, that was what I went there to hear, and to dance to.

  • Great time looking back

by Marv America Fan on 11/4/25The Oncenter Crouse Hinds Theater - SyracuseRating: 5 out of 5

I was interested in seeing how Dewey would do things as the sole original member still touring. Short answer, great. The show highlighted all the major hits, but focused on many of Dewey’s deep cut favorites. For me the highlight was a two song set honoring the late Dan Peek. A highly enjoyable performance.

  • Excellant concert

by Samcatt on 11/4/25The Oncenter Crouse Hinds Theater - SyracuseRating: 5 out of 5

Great concert, very personable group. We enjoyed the show, the video behind America was appropriate and went well with the songs. The concert venue was very good, comfortable and warm. Staff was helpful in guiding us to our seats. We had a great time.

  • Enjoyable Evening with America

by StuckInThe 70’ on 11/2/25OLG Stage at Fallsview Casino - Niagara FallsRating: 4 out of 5

It was an enjoyable evening listening to the hits of America and some songs that did not receive as much radio play back in the late 70’s and early 80’s. Dewey’s voice was excellent but I did feel the voices that sang lead when Dewey was not did not have the same tones that Gerry brought when he was touring. With that said the harmonies we terrific and it was great to see the America performance.

  • So disappointed

by Angie on 10/19/25Rating: 2 out of 5

We we so excited to see them but they were very disappointing. There is only one group member that is original and his voice was off. I felt like I was watching a tribute band. Some of the great songs were sung by a young kid they brought on and he in no way sounded like the original. I would not recommend unless you go knowing this ahead of time and don’t expect too much. They were even singing other people’s songs and I did not get that. It’s a night out but keep your expectations low.

  • Excellent Venue-Need Wider Seats

by Road Show Johnny on 8/26/25Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Auditorium - ChattanoogaRating: 4 out of 5

The show was fantastic. We've traveled the country to see America and America the land we all live in. The show in Chattanooga was really good, as the band continues to play the hits we all love. We've seen them 31 times and are never disappointed.

Excellent venue and America was awesome. Hadn't seen them since the 70s and they were great. Young accompaning musicians complimented Dewy and were phenomenal. A great evening in an iconic concert hall

  • Good concert!

by Kelly and Mike on 8/25/25Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Auditorium - ChattanoogaRating: 4 out of 5

We enjoyed America! It was fun to see them in person. The voices of newer members were not quite as good as the original members but still very good. The drummer on the other hand made the show! He was so talented.
