America's Got Talent - Paramount Theater Oakland

    by BBLS on 10/3/10Paramount Theatre-Oakland - Oakland

The show was great and enjoyed all acts. Unfortunately, Jeremy Van Schoonhoven injured himself and could not perform...would have loved to see him. Enjoyed Prince Poppycock's first vignette the best...second performance was just ok. The audience loved him and he received standing ovation. Would have liked to see more of Magician Michael Grasso than Christina and Ali. His magic act was awesome! Recommend that future shows bring Michael Grimm out to sing in first half and again to close show. We had to wait 2 hrs to just to see him perform and it seemed it was too short.

    Better than the show!!!

    by Eve113 on 10/3/10Paramount Theatre-Oakland - Oakland

I loved the first ever tour for Season 5 America's Got Talent in Oakland, CA. I was sitting in the 3rd row, and the performers were so close. I loved all the talented acts, and the singing was better live than the show. The performance was superb! I also loved meeting Michael Grimm, Fighting Gravity, Prince Poppycock, Christina and Ali. They are all so sweet and genuine. I'm so glad that I went for it was one of the best experience.

America's Got (even more) Talent Live!

    by Wedges on 10/3/10Paramount Theatre-Oakland - Oakland

We enjoyed the TV show so much that we bought tickets to the Oakland performance. With most of the top10 performing we were very happily surprised. Most of the performances were better live than even on TV, and the audience was really vocal and added to the fun. With a few new numbers, and some of the best of the TV performances, it was a great experience and absolutely worth it~

    America's Got Talent-Great Fun!

    by Marcusarelius on 10/3/10Paramount Theatre-Oakland - Oakland

It was just like watching the show on tv. The sound system was a bit off. When the person was singing, the background music would drown out the person's voice. Jerry Springer was a great MC. It was a great time.

America Got Talent Live was fantastic!

    by BillandMary on 10/3/10Paramount Theatre-Oakland - Oakland

My wife and I enjoyed the show tremendously. Jerry Springer was a great host. Jerry was funny, engaging and entertaining. Jerry could relate to Anna & Patrick's dancing event and he spoke about own his Dancing with the Star experience. I am sorry we missed Jeremy's bicycle event due to an accident to his arm during rehearsal. We recommend people to see the show when the tour arrives in their city.

    America really does have talent!!

    by MoMoBear on 10/3/10Paramount Theatre-Oakland - Oakland

My husband, son and I went to the show on Friday night. It was amazing! We enjoyed watching the acts on television so much, but seeing them live, was by far the better way to see it. We enjoyed every act so much and they were all even better than they were on the show. We loved, loved, l -o-v-e-d it!!! Would definitely recommend this show to everyone. We were disappointed not being able to see Jeremy's bike act, but we understand injuries occur. So we wish him a speedy recovery and hope to see him live somewhere else some day.

    THIS SHOW IS GREAT

    by Doodatt on 10/3/10Paramount Theatre-Oakland - Oakland

This was a fantastic show. It is extremely inspiring to see the young adults reach their dreams and to share that with all of us. I would recommend it to all.

    Got Talent?

    by artnut on 10/3/10Paramount Theatre-Oakland - Oakland

The show was thoroughly enjoyable from beginning to end. Sure, there were a few first night technical issues, but they were probably not even noticed by most of the audience, and were very minor in nature. The volume was a bit overwhelming, and made it difficult to catch the nuances in the voice of our budding 10-yr-old opera star. A blaring volume level does not do justice to her fantastic instrument and her ability to literally float her voice over the audience. The accompaniment on her pieces could also be pulled back a bit. These are technical issues that, hopefully, will be adjusted in the next shows. Again, though, the show was extremely enjoyable on the part of all the performers.

The theatre was beautiful and the seats were a lot better than other theatre seats I've sat in. Jerry Springer was an entertaining host, and I felt like I got more than my money's worth out of the show since most of the acts performed more than once.

    I was WoWed

    by spider66 on 10/3/10Paramount Theatre-Oakland - Oakland

If you enjoyed it on tv and can still get tickets, do so. Wasn't a fan originally, my mom sucked me into watching it. But I was definitely WOWed by the experience. Great venue, the Paramount was beautiful. Parking remarkably easy, though so was BART. Sound quality could have been better, only gripe. The show it's self was fantastic. My parents got me watching, took them for an early x-mas present. They loved it even more I think than I did. The performers were all really good. The show nearly went for 3 hours & Jeremy Vans the Crazy Bike dude wasn't able to do his gig, but showed up straight from surgery to bid his thanks to the fans. Brasso, Fighting Gravity, Jackie Evancho & Prince Poppycock were fantastic. Well worth the price of admission. JERRY pulled it all together wonderfully & Michael Grimm did a million $ closing. Hard to believe all these acts were unheard of just a few months back.

The overall show was very good, but I was extremely disappointed that one of my favorite acts and the main rerason I had bought tickets for the show did not happened because the person had been injured. I can understand why he did not perform, but do not understand why they did not show his previous performance from the finals so eveerybody could see what they missed and how good he was.

    "America's Got Talent" was Awesome!!!

    by YorkieLover1 on 10/3/10Paramount Theatre-Oakland - Oakland

The "America's Got Talent" show was GREAT! I went to the "American Idol" show last year, and didn't like it near as much as this show. It was nice having it at the Paramont Theatre because it seemed more intimate. All of the acts were SUPER and even though I'm not a Jerry Springer fan, even he did well!

    Great Show

    by rhfii on 10/3/10Paramount Theatre-Oakland - Oakland

This was well worth the ticket price and I'd go again without hesitation. The three top performers were absolute show stoppers, Michael Grim, Prince Poppycock, Jackie Evancho and the sisters were right up there with Patryk and Ana the dancers. The magician was equally as spectacular and worth seeing time and time again. Defying Gravity was also spectacular, especially when you consider the size of the stage they had to work with at the Oakland venue. This was the first stop on the tour and it was a great event.

    America's Got Talent

    by FunMartyK on 10/3/10Paramount Theatre-Oakland - Oakland

The show was really good. It would have been nice if Jerry Springer was standing upstage of the stars during the talk after their act instead of downstage. They were always looking at him answering questions and we just saw their backs. I would rather have seen their fronts and Jerry's back or side. They also didn't stray much from the center of the stage so the side seats didn't get to see the the acts quite as well. So wish Alice would have been in the top 10 and on tour too. All in all I loved the show and would see it again.

    Michael Grimm was amazing!

    by FancySue on 10/3/10Paramount Theatre-Oakland - Oakland

Our group thought all the performers were fantastic! Only problem, we didn't receive the laminates to the show. We were told they didn't arrive. We had nothing for the artist to sign.

Wow!!!! America really DOES have talent!!!

    by LilysNana on 10/3/10Paramount Theatre-Oakland - Oakland

What a fantastic show. Was a fan of Michael Grimm from his first audition, wanted him to win from the beginning. Got to the Paramount and he was standing outside Got to take a picture with him. He is as sweet and as humble as he looks on t.v. All the acts were top notch, the crowd was great and the standing ovations too numerous to count. Loved it!!!!
