About

Amélie captured our hearts in the five-time Oscar®-nominated film. Now she comes to Broadway in a magical new musical starring Phillipa Soo (Hamilton, The Great Comet), directed by Tony Award® winner Pam MacKinnon (Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?), with a book by Pulitzer Prize and Tony nominee Craig Lucas (The Light in the Piazza), music by Daniel Messé and lyrics by Nathan Tysen & Messé. Embark on a mesmerizing journey with shy but inquisitive Amélie as she turns the streets of Montmartre into a world of her own imagining, while secretly orchestrating moments of joy for those around her.

Phillipa Soo was wonderful and her voice is beautiful. The musical was cute and we enjoyed it very much. I would not recommend sitting in the balcony at this small theatre as the balcony was so high we had to lean forward in our first row seats the entire show to look down and over the rail to see the stage.

    Cute but forgettable...

by Parisny on 4/19/17Walter Kerr Theatre - New York

Ms. Soo was certainly the highlight of this enjoyable, albeit not really memorable, production. As a complete Francophile, as well as a huge fan of the film "Amelie", I was disappointed with it's lack of "frenchness", part of which made the film so charming. Aside from Amelie, the other characters were too "American". The music also was also pretty mediocre.

Phillipa Soo good but never unleashed the vocals

by EliKatJusMad on 4/18/17Walter Kerr Theatre - New York

The production was slow and Phillipa Soo never really brought it. I was looking forward to at least one song that showed-off her vocals and it never came. I was very disappointed.

Amélie is a must see Broadway production!

by KennedyElizabeth on 4/18/17Walter Kerr Theatre - New York

A slightly socially awkward women who just wants to find her place in the world? Sounds familiar! I'm sure everyone here can find some way to relate to at least one these characters! I highly suggest going to see this. As a fan of Philippa Soo I found it very exciting to see her in another musical!

    Lovely Amelie

by lucianabg on 4/18/17Walter Kerr Theatre - New York

This show was very well produced, the songs are amazing and actors played very well too! It really reminds me the original Amelie movie and they capture the main scenes. Amelie character was a little bit happier compare to the movie character who was more hesitant but it does not compromise the show. I recommend this show.

    Wasted talent

by TheatreLover2468 on 4/17/17Walter Kerr Theatre - New York

Pointless, goes nowhere. Stick with the film. A waste of talent. Save your money. We go to the theatre several times a week and this was one of the poorest shows we have seen.

    WOW

by cruisemama1 on 4/16/17Walter Kerr Theatre - New York

The show was great! I really didn't know the story- but I loved the show. The sets were on point for Paris and the tempo was perfect. I loved how younger Amelie came back into the show here and there- she was a joy to hear. This was one of my favorite shows.

    Amelie was absolutely breathtaking!

by Anonymous on 4/15/17Walter Kerr Theatre - New York

Amelie to me is the only show on Broadway that is happy and enlightening the whole way through! The cast, crew, and band all did a wonderful job reeling in the audience. It was incredible and I left the theatre wanting to do good deeds and not being afraid to be me!

    Amelie stole my heart!

by SaraUWS on 4/15/17Walter Kerr Theatre - New York

Wonderful production! We saw it in early previews. The cast was very strong! The musical and dance numbers were exciting and had the wacky-sweet feel of the movie. Loved the pet fish scene. The romantic connection was very strong. Can't wait until it opens!

    Unforgettable experience

by ashmeskill on 4/15/17Walter Kerr Theatre - New York

Absolutely MAGICAL!!! The entire cast shines. I will certainly remember this as one of my favorite shows for a long time. The music was beautiful and I walked out of the theatre singin, a sign of a great show. I'll also ever forget a little piece of me "being on Broadway." My friend and I posted a picture with #pickmeamelie and before the show, our picture was on the stage! So exciting and unique.

    Phillipa Soo shines!

by Agnella on 4/11/17Walter Kerr Theatre - New York

Amelie was phenomenal. The show has a light and happy feel to it and is full of humor. I have seen it twice and would gladly go again. Phillipa has a gorgeous voice and Savvy Crawford plays a great young Amelie. I'm left waiting on the cast album to come out and would gladly recommend it to anyone in the area.

    Delightful

by Tennessee10 on 4/11/17Walter Kerr Theatre - New York

Our party consisted of two twenty-somethings and two sixty-somethings (mix of male and female) and we all thoroughly enjoyed the show. The voices were outstanding, the sets were creative, and the storyline was whimsical. All in all a wonderful evening.

    No trip to Paris

by Arts23 on 4/10/17Walter Kerr Theatre - New York

The show didn't make me feel as if I were in Paris, or anywhere near. the music didn't evoke that city. There wasn't much plot exposition, which may have helped to develop the show. The scene with the blind man was confusing and the motivation wasn't clear. it would have helped if we knew why the male lead felt as shy as Amelie, and why he tore up the pictures that were not torn up by the subjects in the photos.
