Ambrosia on Tour

Ambrosia, an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1970, is back in action. Their 2022 tour, ambrosialive, is bringing together a long-running and loyal audience. The band boasts five Top 40 hit singles released between the years of 1975 and 1980. The singles include "Holdin' on to Yesterday," "You're the Only Woman (You & I)," "Biggest Part of Me," and "How Much I Feel." The 2022 tour includes all members of the original band -- bassist/vocalist Joe Puerta, drummer/vocalist Burleigh Drummond and keyboardist/vocalist Christopher North -- plus guitarist/vocalist Doug Jackson (guitar and vocals), Ken Stacey (vocals) and Mary Harris (keyboards and vocals.) The band has been playing together for 25 years. Seeing Ambrosia live is a nostalgic and energizing experience. The tour will span the United States over the course of the year.

Ambrosia Live in Concert

Ambrosia was named after the band's desire to be eclectic in style, encompassing all shades, textures, colors, and styles. The band was originally formed as a quartet. Ambrosia soared to the top of the mainstream music charts despite being progressive in nature. Being from Southern California, the band was inspired by artists such as The Beach Boys and The Beatles. Ambrosia got their start in 1971 when a friend of the band who was running sound for the Hollywood Bowl invited the band to play onstage to test the sound system. Gordon Perry, the head engineer, invited them to attend performances with the Los Angeles Philharmonic. The conductor chose to feature Ambrosia as part of the "All American Dream Concert." After landing a deal with 20th Century Fox Records, the band became an American legend. Today, the band still maintains a loyal and enthusiastic following. Ambrosia live in concert in 2022 certainly stands to be a reunion and celebration of epic proportions.

  • So Nice To See Them

by NEGE on 7/23/15Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 4 out of 5

Ambrosia doesn't come East often and hasn't been to the Birchmere before. They have a great heritage, great memorable songs and a well honed stage presence. They didn't sell out the house, but should have. We know who draws well at the Birch, and Ambrosia is right in the "sweet spot".

  • What talent, Ambrosia kicked it with their vocals.

by BigDaddyJZ on 12/2/14The Canyon - Agoura HillsRating: 5 out of 5

I was taken back with their vocals and musical talent, still tight, no one over playing each other. We were so lucky for stage seats. They were so good, true to their sound. We will definitely see them again, great time. BigDaddy,JZ

  • Just Amazing.. Both bands!

by cljsharon on 9/27/14House of Blues San Diego - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

King Washington was worth the whole ticket price all by themselves. What a treat to have 2 bands that rocked it all night long. Ambrosia (a band i have loved for 30+ years) still had it and gave a performance that was like no other. It's been a long time since I've seen a band as good as these 2 were. Enjoyed it tremndously! I would defintaly see them again.

  • Ambrosia

by Lunachl on 9/16/14House of Blues Anaheim - AnaheimRating: 1 out of 5

I am a music fanatic and have attending a variety of types of music. In my lifetime I have attended hundreds of concerts. This will be a first for me, but I have to honestly say that it was the WORST concert to date They didn't have the origional singer. It was very disappointing. And quite frankly, the songs sucked. I wish I could have get a refund.

  • Ambrosia was professional and harmonious !

by Trademark on 9/15/14House of Blues San Diego - San DiegoRating: 4 out of 5

Smooth 70's and 80's harmonies with a few new songs thrown in. Very well done. Their lead singer (not the original) is OUTSTANDING.

  • Ambrosia was unreal

    by Ky1961 on 3/8/14Saban Theatre - Beverly HillsRating: 5 out of 5

Saw Ambrosia at the Saban Theater on February 28, 2014 was in the fifth row. The Saban Theatre was beautiful and the best place to see a concert, very small and everyone had good seats. Ambrosia was unbelievable the voices of the original people sounded the same very clear and you could not tell they have been singing for 30 plus years, the new lead singer had the most unreal voice you ever heard and sounded just like the original lead singer. Overall the location, the band and even driving to Beverly Hills was one of the best concerts I have ever seen, I will go back to Saban Theatre and will continue to support Ambrosia. I love this band and all the members were great Musicians.

  • Ambrosia definitely a Classic!

by HonDaPursuit on 3/6/14Saban Theatre - Beverly HillsRating: 5 out of 5

No Regrets to have the opportunity to see the Band , even with the absence of the original vocalist.. They still have the KICK! Their genre of pop ,rock & jazz will be remembered 10-20 years from now, and I'm glad I was able to hear them LIVE!!

  • Ambrosia was pretty good

by freebirddw on 3/4/14Saban Theatre - Beverly HillsRating: 3 out of 5

I some what enjoyed myself, there were two groups performing before Ambrosia..I didn't expect that, it seemed to drag on..until Ambrosia got on stage. The music was different but Okay I could hardly wait for my favorite songs..your the only woman,...biggest part of me,..how much I feel. After that I was ready to go Home...just a little much for me. It was different with out the original lead singer..but the new guy did a fantastic job.

  • Where O Where is David Pack ? !!

by steino on 3/3/14Saban Theatre - Beverly HillsRating: 2 out of 5

I was hoping the remaining three original members(Puerta, North & Drummond) could pull this gig off without Mr Pack but I was sadly mistaken upon hearing the first note sung from singer Ken Stacey. Ambrosia's signature songs require David Pack's expert chops and it was quite apparent when Stacey was at the mike. Stacey's histrionics bordered on giddy and silly at times and seemed like he was just happy to be on stage trying to sing somebody else's hit songs. Mssgrs. Puerta, North & Drummond showed that they are still quality musicians that had a heavy hand in creating Amrosia's past success. Doug Jackson hit on all cylinders and definitely compliments the band. All in all, it would have been Nice, Nice, Very Nice if Mr Pack could reunite with his mates to allow us to hear those killer harmonies one more time.

  • Ambrosia was disappointing without David Pack

    by Jam12 on 3/3/14Saban Theatre - Beverly HillsRating: 3 out of 5

Even though Ambrosia played all my faves and the music & band sounded good, it wasn't the same without their original lead singer, David Pack. The new singer had a nice voice but he added his own style to the songs which I didn't care for. I would only see this band if the original singer came back otherwise it felt like I was watching a cover band play their music.

  • Ambrosia rocked!

by MarkPastor on 3/3/14Saban Theatre - Beverly HillsRating: 5 out of 5

They were awesome! I've always wanted to see them and was not let down. Their performance was outstanding! Was brought to tears. Everyone was sooo good and their keyboard/organ player just killed it!

  • Ambrosia's new lead singer is no David Pack

by DrIndie on 3/3/14Saban Theatre - Beverly HillsRating: 3 out of 5

Show was alright, but it didn't particularly care for the new lead singer. He's no David Pack. I preferred it when Joe Puerta even sang David's parts instead of the new guy. The band wasn't exceptionally tight. Ambrosia's best days are definitely behind them. It was an alright show, but not great. I do love the Saban Theater though.

  • great show, too short

by pocoholicmike on 12/1/13Fort McDowell Casino-Fountain Hills - Fountain HillsRating: 4 out of 5

First of all , I am a die hard Poco fan. Wouldn't have been there if it weren't for Poco on the venue. I knew they would be first on stage as the third booked act. But 30 minutes was a little out of hand. They didn't even get to warm up. I was a little disappointed in that Rusty didn't even get to play the steel pedal. Acoustics at Ft. McDowell left a lot to be desired as well. But Poco was great at getting the audience involved in the show. I was very impressed with Firefall, had never seen them before live. They were also only given a little over 30 minutes. Even the headliner Ambrosia only played for a little over 45min. It was open seating, so I didn't get the best view, but was a little much waiting almost 2 hours for the show to start, and the show was not quite 2 hrs long.

  • Love Ambrosia

Poco and Firefall had so many more songs they could have played.

  • Ambrosia

by AZYeti on 11/27/13Fort McDowell Casino-Fountain Hills - Fountain HillsRating: 5 out of 5

Bands were outstanding but the local sound mix was rough house video didn't know any of the songs never knew which band member was playing what part

  • by Anonymous on 11/27/13Fort McDowell Casino-Fountain Hills - Fountain HillsRating: 4 out of 5

The Bands were outstanding. The venue was over-sold and there was distractions throughout the entire evening. Either people in the back being loud or ushers/attendents who were not respectful of the noise they were making.
