Ambrosia on Tour

Ambrosia, an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1970, is back in action. Their 2022 tour, ambrosialive, is bringing together a long-running and loyal audience. The band boasts five Top 40 hit singles released between the years of 1975 and 1980. The singles include "Holdin' on to Yesterday," "You're the Only Woman (You & I)," "Biggest Part of Me," and "How Much I Feel." The 2022 tour includes all members of the original band -- bassist/vocalist Joe Puerta, drummer/vocalist Burleigh Drummond and keyboardist/vocalist Christopher North -- plus guitarist/vocalist Doug Jackson (guitar and vocals), Ken Stacey (vocals) and Mary Harris (keyboards and vocals.) The band has been playing together for 25 years. Seeing Ambrosia live is a nostalgic and energizing experience. The tour will span the United States over the course of the year.

Ambrosia Live in Concert

Ambrosia was named after the band's desire to be eclectic in style, encompassing all shades, textures, colors, and styles. The band was originally formed as a quartet. Ambrosia soared to the top of the mainstream music charts despite being progressive in nature. Being from Southern California, the band was inspired by artists such as The Beach Boys and The Beatles. Ambrosia got their start in 1971 when a friend of the band who was running sound for the Hollywood Bowl invited the band to play onstage to test the sound system. Gordon Perry, the head engineer, invited them to attend performances with the Los Angeles Philharmonic. The conductor chose to feature Ambrosia as part of the "All American Dream Concert." After landing a deal with 20th Century Fox Records, the band became an American legend. Today, the band still maintains a loyal and enthusiastic following. Ambrosia live in concert in 2022 certainly stands to be a reunion and celebration of epic proportions.

  • Disappointed

So many great songs they could have done but didn't. Too much instrumental jamming.

  • A must for any Yacht Rock fan

Ambrosia sounded just as good as I remembered! There were a few special guests which made the experience that much more special. Staff at Golden Nugget were friendly & helpful. And, the theater itself was on the smaller side so there weren't really any bad/obstructed seats.

  • Surprizing great music

Wow, did not know what to expect with all the headliners of bands from the past listed with Ambrosia. But what a great show they all put on. 2 hours of music that took me back in time. Ambrosia played their hits then performed as back up band for each of the lead singers. The voices were as clear and beautiful today as they were back in the day.

My wife and I had a wonderful time at the Yacht Rock concert. Ambrosia, Walter Egan, Peter Beckett and Eliot Lurie were terrific.

  • Not as expected

LOVE Ambrosia. Went to see Ambrosia. Paid for tickets to see Ambrosia. But the day of, after looking for details regarding the venue being inside or outside (because I saw Kansas outside there the weekend before), I find out it’s music ‘festival’, Yacht Rock with other bands. I finally found more information (it should not have been difficult but it was) to realize that it included members from other 70’s bands. All in all it was a decent concert. I enjoyed the other bands original songs but I didn’t care for the group to sing covers of other artists. They all had enough songs between them without doing cover songs. I also felt they needed more practice to be more in tune to what one would expect. The only other complaint was that they sang several songs with slightly slower beats. That felt awkward. I didn’t get to give a review for Kansas from the week before. They were AMAZING! If they had a second night of performing, I would have gone again!

  • Fantastic Show!

"Rock the Yacht"at Seminole Casino was outstanding. I've seen Ambrosia many times, even promoting them once. Their performance was among the best ever. They also acted as the band for several other artists from the '70s. John Ford Coley, Elliot Laurie, Peter Beckett and Walter Egan. all performed their big hits and did a fantastic job. Can't wait to see them all again.

Enjoyed this show VERY much--took me back to my youth. I loved the way they incorporated John Ford Coley and Peter Beckett into the act. They sounded great. I was impressed.
